Can you choose your zoom level by default. I always set my DSLR to a specific zoom without a gesture. Looks kinda silly if you gesture during a live meeting 😂
Great video, and now considering this cam for work meetings. Would be interested to know given that its 1/2” sensor size is one of the selling points, how well does it handle shadow depth of field for a more professional background blur?
Hey Olavi, as far as I’ve seen, there is no internal wide aperture setting to create a blur. It does have a bit of a natural blur that comes with the ultra focus mode (you can see it when I hold up the box). But I don’t think it has that artificial blur you can pick in apps like zoom and google meet, as a setting.

Hi Patrick! Does the AI tracking, gestures, and other features work when using Zoom or other video conferencing apps automatically? Or do you need to set up a virtual camera from the Insta360 link and feed it to Zoom?
Yep , works automatically. But if you want to tweak things , you just open the Insta360 Link controller app and whatever you change there will also take effect in your Zoom call.

I assume that people who own Macbooks are more likely to own an iPhone as well. With the recent OS, Apple is promoting its “continuity camera” feature which allows you to use the cameras on your iPhone to take photos and videos directly on your Macbook.

I bought an Insta360 Link to use with my Apple Studio Display because of how horrible the built-in webcam is. I’m not satisfied with the Insta360 Link’s microphones so I use a boom mounted condenser mic instead.
Hi Patrick, can this insta360 Link Camera be used with an iPadPro for landscape camera mode? Will all the gesture features work with iPadPro? Do they have an iOS app for the camera?
@@PatrickRambles iPadPro has a USB C port, and I have used the USB C port to an external USB C dock which has 1 USB C, 1 USB A and 1 HDMI port as well as Card readers on the dock. I was able to connect the iPadPro to another USB C charger, an external WD Hard Disk as well as to an external TV through those ports. I have not tried to connect the USB C to a camera though. I was hoping the insta360 Link camera could connect to the iPadPro’s USB C port to use it as a landscape camera. Wishful thinking?

Yeah it’s pricey. I guess it’s aimed at professionals that do a lot of daily video conferencing as well as presentations or webinars. Don’t forget that we used to shell out thousands of dollars for web conferencing setups.

I'm not really sure what you mean. I go the to gym in the early morning, I record my videos whenever I record them, mostly in the afternoon.

Of course you can. The gesturing is there for presentations whereby you move accross your space and might need to zoom.

No I don't think iPadOS accommodates external cameras.

Yeah the iPad Pro has usb C, it's a thunderbolt port even on the M1. The IO is not the problem, it's the OS.
