Audi A4 1.8T Turbo/Boost Problems

As stated in the video, there are several ways to track lack of power. In my experience the major culprits may be the catalytic converter being plugged, the turbo failing, the cam chain not set correctly, or leaks in the system. I have anther video on the cam chain issue.

No! I took off the turbo, ordered a new wastegate on eBay and then welded the new wastegate on and reinstalled the turbo. Boost is back to normal! I wanted to make a recap video on this, will try to soon…

Wastegate actuator is a consumable in this engine and the 2.0. happens to most of those engines at a certain milage

I have a 2004 avante with the 1.8t and sometimes it feels like its overboosting, so maybe i have the opposite problem... wastegate sticking ?
