Milk Boy me too....only Layne. I love it. Loved his sense of humor always. He was always talking about waxing the dolphin and making crude gestures. Also told the audience in one concert he called his doctor because he wanted his foreskin back😂😂😂😋
Layne was such a trooper. Up there on crutches performing for his fans. He loved us. We adored him. Every single musician I have grown to admire, dies. What is it with that? It breaks my heart. Rest well Layne and Mike.

I saw Alice In Chains in this tour. When I went to see Ozzy on the No more tears tour. Me and my friends Knoxville,TN didn’t know that much about AIC’s. Layne came out on 1 crutch. And when they started to play, there was some folks chanting OZZY, OZZY, OZZY, Then LAYNE says “you guys can chant all you want, we are going to sing another F’N song”. All of us where like F’N yeah! After that show. We where all Alice in Chain fans! One hell of a show they put on for a opening act. Sounded just like they did on there CD. One of the best shows I have ever seen. As far as how they performed. Layne seemed like a mellow laid back kinda guy. He would’ve fit in with all of us TN mean green smoking back woods hicks back in the day. It’s a shame what happened to that young man. And yes he was young when he died.RIP LAYNE. One of the best singers of our time.
21:50 "We're Alice in Chains and this is my broke foot... thank God it ain't a broke dick" saw them in Philly that November, got a shirt with the foot x-ray still, lol.
For me this is the best AIC show ever. Everyone is just spot on. With Starr there it makes it even more satisfying. I still think he was THE perfect bass player for this band.
Agreed. He doesn’t get nearly the recognition he deserves. Nearly all of the bands most iconic bass lines were originally performed by him. And AIC were a pretty bass guitar heavy band.
Jerry has always been my favorite member of AIC. His sense of melody and knack for amazing vocal harmonies are up there with the best of them, not to mention his guitar tone, playing and songwriting in general. A hugely influential musician in my life and the driving force behind the band.
My favorite Jerry moment was when they did the Unplugged show in New York and before they started Angry Chair the other person hired to play rhythm guitar was tuning up and Sean started playing a fast country beat on the snare and bass drums and Jerry breaks into: Gloom, Despair, and Agony on me from Hee-Haw! The look on Layne’s face was priceless! RIP LAYNE ❤
I've been watching all these alice in chains concerts it makes me tear up knowing no one will have soul like this guy or sing with that emotion sends chills down my back
Thumbs up if you clicked on this video because you found the concept of Layne singing Angry Chair in a wheelchair as intriguing as I did. (aside from clicking on it because you love the band in general) By the way, that was a sick Man In The Box there at the end.
His stage presence was half the show.... He had a comic side to him... You could tell He LOVED TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH....He couldn't help himself.... I heard him say more than once,,,,, if you cant laugh , you cant hang out with us...!!!! & he meant it...!!
Amazing performance by the band but please allow me to single out Layne...Breath-taking the power of his pipes! Rest in peace Layne and Mike, you're missed.

I'm so stoked you posted this thank you so much. I was at this show and they were absolutely incredible - I told stories to my boys about how amazing they sounded and how layne was rolling around in a wheel chair. Now I have the video to back it up!
Axls a douche! Me & my would fight....he'd go see A l...me in NOLA!all day AIC open for OZZY!! OZZFEST !! We had all those cool ass festivals w kick ass people playing a few times a year October fest! idr?? My brain? Lol... left my boyfriend at home pouting! Glad I did bc we don't have all that anymore! Fun while it lasted!
Are you kidding me? Axl in his prime was running around in Leg Casts for 1.5 months after he severely sprained his ankle jumping off an amp in Ritz 1991 during the 1st leg of the "Get In the Ring" Tour. I like Layne but no one in history of rock music was as great a performer as Axl (running marathons around the stage, jumping off amps and platforms, etc.) while singing much harder .
It blows my mind that Blind Melon and Alice in Chains toured together. I learned this in the Blind Melon book, but man I am more than jealous that you and many other people got to see them both the same night. Two of my favourite bands from the 90's.... MAN! You lucky ass! I can't believe you went to this concert. THANK for uploading it-
Hows bout the greatest 1 day festival lineup ever 1992 AIC, Primus,Tool, Rage Against the Machine...Alice In Chains headlining Aragon in Chicago later that year or 93 best live show I had the pleasure of witnessing
aww Layne dude ....... and still did the show like a boss please please love these guys with all ur might while they're still here we love them not only for their music but because we knew there was something special about these guys all of the nineties grates that have passed on
Sofia Noiti Layne used a vocal concept called compression singing which gave him the ability to sing as he does, along with the vocal range he had and just incredible talent. I can't explain compression singing, but you can look it up if you want to
Huge props to layne for doing a show with a broken leg, and most of the time standing. Some of the "bands" and groups today would have to take a little break from the tour. R.I.P bro, see you in the after life for sure. Everyday will be a party
Man....90s recordings were only 2/10 at best. 41 minute mark...man in a box. That shit is ultra premium...stirs my soul...wow!. Just imagine being there. I have no words, that shit blows me away
What??? Layne sang on crutches and then wheelchair! ! 21:39 Like it helped him sing even better..? Singin his,ass off totally on pitch and in one of his very BEST vocal performance ever! While in , fcking wheelchair. AND THAT is why LAYNE IS A fcking Rockstar legend vocalist. Loved this show. Hes so on point!! ▪
Mario Gutierrez Agreed. He said he felt no reason not to give the concerts his all because his neck wasn't broke, lol. He was never off key, I think only time I heard his voice sound rough was when he sang through laryngitis a few times and illness. he also blew his voice one time because he was singing so long and hard. But yeah, I don't put anything past Layne and his abilities. When he wasn't on crutches he sang squating and balled up much of the time and still the power that came out was incredible. I don't know any singers who can do that. Only one Layne and he's amazing.
I was at this show! I don't remember seeing Blind Melon? I'm pretty sure we got there just as they were ending? We weren't super into them, I'm not going to lie but Alice sounded even better at the actual show if you can believe that! The Oakland Arena usually sounded pretty epic. That place seemed to be engineered ideally for live shows despite it being intended for basketball games? Ozzy sounded siiiiiiiiiick too! Zakk Wylde was just as crazy as Jerry was, thrashing around their long ass blonde hair flying everywhere! I'm pretty sure it was the "No More Tours" tour because of "No More Tears"? Very punny Uncle Ozzy! I was right in the front left side where Mike kept going out on that little extra ledge they must have built for him! Gawdamn the energy was insane despite his broken foot! See how much love they were giving us? That's because we were giving it back! It's a give and take! The more love you openly give at a live show to let the band know how much they mean to you the better the performance reflects the energy back ten fold. Drop the attitude, drop the need to look cool, let your hair down a bit, it's worth it. What if you never see them again? Life is short. I'm so lucky I got to see Alice at least three times with Layne and once with William. I saw STP during the Core album with Scott Weiland, the original Ramones, Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Bowie, Audioslave, Van Halen, (and Van Hagar), Badlands, Def Leppard with Steve Clark, the Stones with Charlie Watts, the B-Boys with MCA, and Depeche Mode with Andy Fletcher! I just heard about Coolio?! He was the nicest guy!! I never saw him play live but I met him in that weird two story Japantown Denny's WAAAY back when Gangster's Paradise had just hit big! Ok, this is like the longest posting ever. I must bring this to an end and thank you all for your patience if you made it to the end of this rant! End of Line.
great show layne an Mike your still very much missed thanks for the great music that's getting me threw hard times as it always has keep rockin Jerry and Sean.
Damn Layne always just showing off with that huge voice, last video I watched he was chewing gum while performing an acoustic set and it sounded incredible.
Crazy to know this show happened right down the street from my house yet I was merely a week old on 10/8/92 and wasn’t able to witness the awesomeness that was the original AIC. So jealous of those who were there. RIP LSMS 🤘🏽
The man was amazing.. how many singers would still go out there and give everything while on crutches... today's singers (cough cough) except Dave Grohl would have cancelled .. I love Layne.. ..period..that's all...
These vhs recordings may not sound as polished as a cell phone, but they definitely were a more accurate depiction of how it actually sounded in the arena.
This concert shows what used to be so great about music. The Pepsi \ Beyonce commerical i had to endure before this clip shows me what it so wrong with music today.
layne is a real dude man. all beat up to hell in a wheelchair and knew he had a tour to continue with the guys and he did it any way in his condition, what a fucking sport.
Hes wearing the shirt from the Would? music video... which i read was andrew wood shirt, from mother love bone who the song Would? is written about. I read that it was given to Layne by woods girlfriend because he was staying at her place one night shortly after wood died and he needed a shirt to which he wore in the video to honner wood. Again i read this but not sure how true it is but if true pretty cool i think
kc guitarlover what she say? I heard of it too! I'd like to know if it were True!! It'd be a cool story, honoring Andrew With him always wanting to play in large arenas !
I love that part extra, cuz when I discovered this band I was in high school, and that whole gloom despair thing just described my life at the time so well LOL
they open w/ Dam That River and then do Them Bones 2 songs later, we're all so used to hearing Them Bones and Dam That River back-to-back like on Dirt - (yes i'm thinking about this way too much)
When he said "thank god it ain't a broken dick" I lost it.

Greatest wheelchair performance ever. Layne was the real deal.

layne is a real dude man. all beat up to hell in a wheelchair and knew he had a tour to continue with the guys and he did it any way in his condition, what a fucking sport.
Obviously not how he felt a short couple of years later
Love this version of man in the box ! ❤
I just asked Xana, Andrew Wood's girlfriend if that's true lol I never heard that till I just read your comment.
kc guitarlover what she say? I heard of it too! I'd like to know if it were True!! It'd be a cool story, honoring Andrew With him always wanting to play in large arenas !
Absolutely true:)
I'll go ask Xana for you. She's my girl.
:)
14:13 ...what a theater! love him!
Thank you Tiff for sharing this ... you are a rock star woman.
Layne killed it on sickman.
Glad your enjoying. This is my fave AIC concert. Make sure you listen to Sickman. Better than the studio version
RIP LAYNE ❤
I love that part extra, cuz when I discovered this band I was in high school, and that whole gloom despair thing just described my life at the time so well LOL
IKR. Layne was like 'Dude, can't we leave Country Jerry in the backseat?'
This is amazing!!!
Layne is in top form here.
Layne at his Dirt best. Strong vocals.
they open w/ Dam That River and then do Them Bones 2 songs later, we're all so used to hearing Them Bones and Dam That River back-to-back like on Dirt - (yes i'm thinking about this way too much)
Layne is one of a kind
woa his voice, so amazing!. Live or audio, none of difference. XD
29:34 HOLY SHIT!!!
god that voice
Fucking AIC Kickin Ass as usual!!!
