- Just after 6pm Conroe Fire Department and Lake units were dispatched to a marine fire at the Timewise McShell on SH 105 at Lake Point Blvd. Conroe Fire Boat was first on the scene and reported two persons in the water and a boat on fire. THe pair were able to swim to the dock. One female who was in her 50's was critically burned. She was transported to a Burn Center in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. According to the owner of the boat, he told authorities he had just filled up with 80 gallons of fuel at the McShell dock pumps. He had disconnected from the pump and was approximately three-feet from the dock. When he started the boat a flash fire occurred. Investigators are looking at a faulty fire suppression system in the engine compartment and possibly a non-operational blower exhaust motor which vents the engine compartment. Conroe Fire boat crews were able to get the boat back to the docks where Conroe and Lake Conroe Firefighters completed extinguishing the blaze. THe boat, which was taking on water was towed by Tow Boats USA. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Lake Patrol units assisted. Game Wardens with the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife are lead on the investigation with the Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office assisting.
Fun turns to tragedy in an instant. Prayers for the injured woman. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
He didn't air out or run the blowers after filling up. Every time you start your boat you need to run the blowers. Every time. The blowers have nothing to do with the engine. They have everything to do with clearing the engine compartment of gas or oil fumes so that when the first spark of the engine happens, you don't blow yourself out of the water.
With an inboard enclosed boat engine, you MUST run the bilge blower before you start the engine!
Awww, come on now, isn't that optional for recreational boats? (Notice: sarcasm). Some probably think that blower is for engine cooldown, sadly.
Hopefully the lady survives her burns.
They would have taken me with her in the ambulance after suffering a heart attack after spending $260 to fill up my boat 😩
Praying for the victims 🙏 😔 😢 💔 😞 💙 🙏
I was on the other side when this happened
Honey use the blower.
Not out in public you sick woman.
Time to go.. starter, starter, boom!
Oh my goodness.
People please take a boater safety course and PAY ATTENTION. Its your family's lives at risk. Do not assume everything is easy.
"That's unrelated, Scott. What are you doing?" 7:00
Scott knew the shot he was going for 😉
Horrible just horrible. should of stayed home and enjoyed some KFC as I did and stared out the windows. Poor woman. burns are so painful
Looks like fire dept. needs to have someone teach them how to secure a line on a cleat properly so it's locked and won't slip.
All praise to yah
Interesting turn of events
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Whatever. She survived!
Are you the husband? jkjk
Which is why I won't allow my family on boats.
The boats aren't the problem it's the cesspool backyards all over conroe. The OSSFs were never properly installed so the HOAs take sewage-germs from yard to yard every single week so everyones dog can roll in it.
Do you won’t let your family in a car because the same thing can and does happen.
She went from white to black in an instant. #CHARBABY 😂
How is this funny? Are you slow?
I think you must still have on your mind that white bread your mommy burnt in the toaster this morning, because when people catch fire, they don’t turn black…
Not funny.
What is wrong with you? You think that is a joking matter? You have serious problems.
