First time I saw them in San Diego, Ca. Soma was the place and the opening band was Hootie and the Blowfish. 1993 I drove my brand new Saturn car there.
Check out some of our old videos showing Toad playing "All in All" back in the day. Randy's drumming may be at its peak for that song. Simply stunning.
As a mom, I want to tell Glen to get his hair out of his face. As a girl who was in love with him since way back then, I'm still swooning! These guys have always been amazing!
How I missed this gem until now is beyond me. I cannot believe the talent of these 4....at their age (everyone but Dean who clearly is 30 and used a time machine to get to this show). When the 80s were making 80s music, this was happening. Ahead of its time.
Wow I can't help being surprised by seeing the older the performance of know me, the better it seems to sound. I'd seen another performance from 1989 and it used to be the best one, before I'd watched this one of course. Thanks for sharing this jewel. Hello from Brazil...
It does seem to get better the further bad you go. It gets raspier and more aggressive as you go back. You can hear some raspy shouting at the end of his song, "Go", but this is an interesting artifact.
Could you imagine competing for record plays back then. 1987. Up next, Headbangers Ball on MTV. You get zero air time, yet you produce beauties like this. In the end, Glen and company beat out horseshit like Kip Winger.

Randy's drumming was amazing. Saw it live @ Soma on San Diego

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Randy's drumming at such a young age?
Incredible.
They should bring back his vintage drum sound.
and duct tape boom stands
Most definitely ❤️
That boy rips
Too bad he left the band.

As a dude, I want to tell him the same thing lol. And yes, I'm swooning too!
I know.... that hair!! 😍
Janice with her bangs and shit.

And then in the 90's they were sounding less "90's" than this, and more like whatever they still are, to an extent.
Wow this is really old, they were so young. Amazing this footage exists.
Yes Glen turned 50 a few months ago. Toad has a new full length album coming out in fall.
@@ChristinaaArmani oh yeah I know. Absolutely can’t wait. But thanks for the heads up!!
@@TJH1971 I take it you watch Glen’s Facebook shows too? Over a year and he still won’t play this 😭 What do we do?
@@ChristinaaArmani yeah I watch everyone on here. And yes I need him to play this song too. Come say hi on here next week.
@@TJH1971 I Will!!!
They were great even back then!
I was 12 years old when this video came out. Big crush 😊 . Still have a big crush
Huge fan of their early work. Thanks for this.
Still great.
My all time favorite Toad song!
So New Wave! And cute.
I liked his hair like that
A Norm MacDonald joke
What a rare gem! Thanks for sharing this. So much talent at such a young age.
It reminds of the Norm Mac Donald joke. The 12. minute joke about Janice with her bangs
So grateful for this band. They have come a long way .
