- With international reporters locked out, Palestinian journalists have made huge sacrifices to keep the world informed of the unprecedented killing and destruction in Gaza.
More media workers have been killed by Israel since October 7 than in any other conflict in modern history.
Like the rest of the population, Gaza's journalists have also been maimed, arrested or threatened, have seen their homes and offices destroyed and are grieving over the loss of those close to them.
The Listening Post spent time with three Al Jazeera journalists between February and March 2024.

I just finished watching you journalists in "Six Months in Gaza" and I cried throughout your accounts of living this unbelievable cruel existence. You are the best of the best people in the world and your courage is remarkable. Even though I continue to watch all of you reporting from Gaza, I never stop crying, I pray also and then I can continue; I have to watch so that I can be a witness to what is happening to you before the world. I don't blame the Israeli citizens, but I do put all accountability on the Israeli government; I have read many books about the atrocities that took place by the Nazis, and I cannot believe that the Israeli government cannot see that they are doing the same thing to you and your people. The Israeli government is hurting its own people as well as destroying Gaza and its people. Many blessings to you and all your citizens, and thank you for your bravery. Also, many blessings to the Israeli citizens and all who suffer from governments with lack of compassion and humanity.

If it wasnt fore the colonial citicizints of colonial israhell than european jews who stole Palestinan land and Palestinan humanety and Palestinans right to live and exist in theire own lands, than all of the Middel east and Palestine live in peace but becaus of them they are slauthered every day so european jews can steel land. The journalists of Gaza have my awed respect, as do the people of Gaza.
To be able to bring the world their stories, to chronicle the deaths from drone strikes, bombs, gunfire, and the starvation that they are experiencing every day.

Your suffering will not be in vain as millions and millions of people around the world are watching with a heavy heart and looking at politicians, condemning their evil acts. Changes need to be made in this world so that people in Palestine did not die for nothing. Palestinians need and deserve their own country where they can live in peace, freedom and happiness with homes, trees, fresh water and enough food to last them a lifetime. And everyone who died as a martyr is living in exactly such a place reunited with their loved ones. God, help them. Because we can't.

At the start of this war i had reason to anger over the taking of the hostages; now i have as much care for them as Netan yahoo has. What i have seen is a reaction of Genocidic proportions. The hate from people around me aimed at Israel is justifiable. I feel sorry for what is happening to the Palestinian people and for all those that have died, including the 14,000 children. Humanity is lost in all this and the world needs to wake up.
