- It’s been six months since Israel began its relentless bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip. In that time, journalist Bisan Owda has been forced to leave her home in Gaza City and been displaced numerous times.
She has witnessed bomb blasts just meters from where she’s sheltering, listened to countless stories of death and destruction, and is now spending Ramadan without electricity or adequate food and water.
Her story is the same as millions of others in Gaza, who have endured a brutal six-month assault on their lives and homes. During this time, more than 33,000 people have been killed, including at least 13,000 children, and 70% of the strip’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.

Glad you are still with us. I have taught the bible for 30 over years. I have made over 70 chapters of the bible into songs, After October 7th I fasted and prayed in sympathy with Israel. I fasted nine days out of twenty-seven and the first five days in a row. The first week changed my mind, and the Lord turned me against Israel. on the 27th day, the Lord gave me what I sought. The inspiration for a song. But it was not the song I wanted to write in sympathy with Israel, it was "The Burden of Israel: Thou Shalt Not Commit Genocide." If my song makes any money every penny will go to Gaza, and I will match each penny with one of my own, so long as I can afford it. I am a poor American with 3 children and a pregnant wife.
