Originally, this technique was going to be used in street fighter 5 but was scrapped, but Capcom still kept the idea and placed it in street fighter 6, and from my perspective, this would've been the technique Master Gouken would've taught Ryu & Ken had he not died by the hands of Akuma
@@Teknanam oh I'm aware, I was talking about before they retcon him to be alive, sorry for the confusion if there is any. I tend to forget I'm talking about the original
It's about time, one of the best key things about ryus character is he is always training to get stronger. I've often wondered what the hell is he training for he's been fighting the same for years. Finally we see the fruits of his labor
I like that each time you knock someone down, a fish jumps out the water in the background, and so does the turtle if it's present but only if the character is knocked out in the air or upward.
Great video, I was wondering how Hashogeki and the level 2 super would fit into Ryu's gameplan. I am glad that Hashogeki gives Ryu some safety against Drive Impact.
I was getting worried that my usual main Ryu was just going to be the same old moves that begin to bore me and not have as much fun with what Ken and Jaime have, but seeing this already has me insanely hyped for Ryu cause I thought Hashogeki was absolutely useless except for being plus on block. I’ll still need to try him out when the full game comes out, but for now I’m glad to know Ryu has something more fun to play with up his sleeve!
I rarely practice in fighting games and only went into training to see what the chars can do but with this move, EX/OD, while genjin charged, you can combo from pretty much any hit, cashing out all OD bars into level 3 super I was able to get near 60% damage combo, mid screen, and I doubt very much that it is optimal. I know kiberley could be strong in her setips and jaimie has some cool tech but from my limited experience it seems ryu and guile are strong af, just from raw damage.
Very informative and well put together video, I dont use Ryu but thank you......i love how this games combos are pretty situational.....we have sooo much to learn on this one
Thank you for the vid. Been seeing more use out of denjin charge, but still lost at where to use the hashogeki in the game. Happy to actually see its potential in a match rather than simply talk about its potential.
Holy F, that last combo damage. Ryu hit like a fkin truck!!! I’m definitely gonna ranked up with Ryu first before i try other characters. Thanks for the breakdown HiFight! 👍🤝
I love how they are finally making Ryu more unique to play as, instead of being overshadowed by Ken. I can't wait to play him in the full release, he was so much fun in the beta!
@@sirellyn Lol nah i'm a Ryu main and the versus games and SF6 are the only games where Ryu feels different and unique. Ken always changed from each game he's in. Agree to disagree it is then.
With the charge and this short range explosion Ryu now has this like energy master thing going on that meshes so well with his meditative self mastery thing that he's always had.
This reminds me that I haven’t done my daily 300 repeats of Ryu’s new theme; I just love the celebratory feeling of it all! (Hope he gets Denjin Hadoken after the charge, as well as keeps Isshin & Vskill 2)
If you use Shinku Hadoken after the charge, it becomes Denjin Hadoken. Seems like just a damage buff though and not the stun attack that it was in 3rd Strike, kind of like how it was in SFV if you used Critical Art while in V-Trigger I.
Oh wow. You'd never expect this amount of creativity to come out of a character like Ryu who always known for being so rock solid all the time. Can't wait to see what people find when we get our hands on the full game
My bad, I could've sworn that was some variation of Chun li"s take on the hadoken? Might have to look at some gameplay videos of part games just to be sure. 🤔
I still think Hasho could use some tweaking to make it better. I feel like it should always be better than a hadoken as long as you're in range with it but I also don't play Ryu so maybe I'm crazy
Hashogeki: -Safe on block - knock opponents in the air for juggle options - the ex denjin version can CRUMPLE opponents - does more damage than a hadoken Yeah it DOESN'T need any more tweaks its already a pretty solid move Making it ANY better would make it overpowered
I love what they're doing with Ryu in this game. In SFV Ryu was good to play as but I always ended up playing Ken instead because he simply had a more interesting playstyle. Now I feel like playing as everyone in this game, and the character creator is gonna make things even more interesting!
There is some crazy combo stuff in this game but it still doesn't seem too crazy since a lot of the utility is highly situational. I could be wrong though and maybe we'll have Skull Girls type combos. Can't wait to find out.
This video has made me feel much better about my perceived lack of development for Ryu. This move has great utility. I still wish he had some new moves. But I'll take this over nothing.
So he finally learned a move from dan
He uses it better maybe😅 I can't wait to see Dan's reaction if they decide to do one
I was thinking this
The real master all along
Dan is ryu brother
I hope we get to see Dan in SF6, but he's like, actually gotten way better over the course of the time skip
Ryu looks so exciting to play...
He's no longer ordinary. He's extraordinary guy!
Lies again? Electricity bill
I taught him well 😌
The character design in sf6 is shit. That beard makes him ugly AF
Now that I think about it it's pretty odd that the guy who supposed to be this spectacular warrior is typically mid at best
yeah it seemed like Ryu hadn't got a new move in 15 years

I think sakura has something similar VT 1
but they retconned Gouken's death in SFIV. He was still alive in SFV.
@@Teknanam oh I'm aware, I was talking about before they retcon him to be alive, sorry for the confusion if there is any. I tend to forget I'm talking about the original
No, Hashogeki is the Ryu's Street Fighter V V Reversal.
It is in SFV, as Ryu’s V-Reversal. It was originally going to be a special move like it is here.
This is Ryu's version of Evil Ryu's axe kick, and instead of an overhead he gets a combo extender
Do ppl actually fall for this?
@@dejectedraven5592 if ppl dont fall for it they wouldve stopped long ago

well, those moves define Ryu, Guile needs new ones

Giving characters their full kit, no super select no V trigger, did a lot towards making every character feel like they could be a tournament winner
Great break down. His charge ability is good and doesn't leave until used, which is really good.
Kinda hope that they gave him the Demon Flip like the ones that Gouken/Gouki uses. Make sense because how he purified the Satsui no Hado in SF5
Very informative and well put together video, I dont use Ryu but thank you......i love how this games combos are pretty situational.....we have sooo much to learn on this one
That’s a fact there’s actually going to be combo videos that longer then 2 weeks unlike V.

My guy finally got that hadoken from Street Fighter: The Movie.

That was the actual move that my eyes spotted and it’s one that I’m very interested in. I love moves like that.
That last combo damn!
Great work here! Thank you, HiFight.
Finally, Ryu learned Heihachi move since Tekken3 1998. But Heihachi version is more violent.
That tumble mechanic seem so obscure and yet so game changing for Ryu, is this tumble mechanic also available on other characters as well?
Yes.. Kimberly also has it on her ex izuna drop
Yes Jamie was the first character that was revealed to have Otg/tumble mechanic on his Ex palm
Yes, it’s a new “state” in the SF universe. Just like the crumple state was introduced in sf4 I think.
Great explanation!
He got the Street Fighter movie Byron Mann Hadouken!
I've been looking forward to a breakdown of Hashogeki after its graduation from V-Reversal.

Really cool how different the properties are of all the different versions. It’s a Swiss Army knife!

the hadouken to low kick is sweet against the wall
He probably learned the move from Chunli's Sou Hakkei.
nice, leaves them standing after the cancel string too with decent footsie set up, I rate this

Bright days ahead of SF6! I can already see the viral highlights tournaments would produce
Great info as always. And the new tumble state sure surprised me.
Never been a huge Ryu fan but he looks really fucking dope in this game
This might be the first SF game where I actually play Ryu. His new look and gameplay are great so far.
This video is so well done.
Idk if thats a sf6 frame data ui or your own but either way its fkn nice

Ryu is a monster they work on everything else. They know if they gave him air fire ball it’s over.
Amazing info. Thanks.

About time they have Ryu some new moves. I mean I know the phrase “if it’s not broken don’t fix it” but man he needed something new
Also has similar moves with Geese Howard from SNK and Heichachi Mishima from Tekken... Cool and functional
@1:46 Does anyone else hear Kazuya’s “Duryia!” + Axe Kick?!?! Coincidence?!? I think not.
Huh, it’s kinda similar to chin-li’s ki-ok-ken, that’s kinda cool, always showing Ryu and Ken evolving there styles, love to see it
It's about time. Only took this martial arts master what... 20ish yrs to learn some new moves.
I guess Capcom wanted someting special to be an alternative to Joudan Sokutou Geri. Cool stuff my friend.

Yeah it DOESN'T need any more tweaks its already a pretty solid move
Making it ANY better would make it overpowered
It is already significantly better than hadoken other than not being a projectile
Ryu finally realized that he didn't need to fire a projectile at point blank range to do combos.
I am so excited to play with my main character Ryu when this comes out
Ryu's been taking notes from the greatest master in the world, Dan Hibiki.
Ryu adapted a move from Dan & a variation of the bull rush from Balrog.
It's basically a more offensive variation of his Hadouken in combos
Nice!👍👍👍
good to see so much variety in the game
Ryu's first new special move in 25 years.
If you want to be technical, Omega SFIV gave Ryu new special moves. The Marvel games also had the different versions of the Hadouken.
Kinda reminds me of Sakura's Hadoshou from CvS.
Nice work
Apparently, Ryu has gotten a Mr. Karate makeover in Street Fighter 6.

COOL. Can't wait to play this. Hope we get an open beta.
Since people used the hadouken at close range it was inevitable...
Thanks for putting in DAT WURK!!
Looks like Ryu took a cue from Sakura and Chun-Li on that move
Is that frame data visualization part of the game or a hi fight creation? Either way it’s pretty great
