Your bass is even more rare because of that, secondly please take that tape off eventually and open up that battery cavity so You don't have battery acid everywhere. Sick bass dude.

I ruined a sweet Charvel once and had to have everything ripped out and replaced (replaced the active pickups with DiMarzio passive pickups). Don't be me. Throw out those batteries!

After what Mick said I don't think there is a battery in there. A bass isn't going to die after one show. And I doubt they went to the trouble of gaft taping it if they removed it themselves before selling it.
