I live here in Atlanta. It's funny how there were a lot of fans and folks on talk radio talking up the Falcons and predicting they'd win the division and go to the playoffs back before the season started. The radio folks were talking about how much they trusted the head coach. At the time, I really didn't know what they were looking at to have this confidence; regardless of anything else, there's nothing resembling a playoff caliber quarterback on the current roster.

Uh, 3 years is pretty patient. I like Fields, but there's very little chance that he doesn't ask for big money he's not worth. That's going to be the biggest issue, because in year 3, he should have had many more games like this if he really was "the guy". 16/40 with 166 passing vs the Browns was 3rd string QB stats.

It's like everyone forgot how great of a passer he was at Ohio State and everyone started saying he couldn't, and that he was just a glorified running back. He should be talked about with the elite QB's in the league, but is slept on. He can do everything Lamar Jackson can do, maybe even better. In 5 years Harrison becomes a FA and bears have to pay him and fields 33% of the whole salary cap. That’s a lot for a WR/ running QB combo.

Honestly, thought the season was hopeless after the start we had, but to still be in playoff contention, albeit by the slimmest margin possible, in the second to last week of the season is a great bounce back for this team. The team redeeming itself for that Week 1 loss to the Packers would be a great note to end this season on.

I would say it's his 3rd season next year. Nagy did him no favors his rookie year and his second year was with a team devoid of top talent. The only thing he got from those two years was women experience but no continuity with teammates.
Uh, 3 years is pretty patient. I like Fields, but there's very little chance that he doesn't ask for big money he's not worth. That's going to be the biggest issue, because in year 3, he should have had many more games like this if he really was "the guy". 16/40 with 166 passing vs the Browns was 3rd string QB stats.

Justin had 313 yards of total offense, 268 in the air, 2 TDs and no picks. And this was against the No.1 Red Zone defense and No. 8 defense vs. the pass. .. Would love to see his critics complain about this one. I imagine they'll probably try to give the defense all the credit. Which is ironic since when the defense didn't perform last year and Fields was putting up points they made it all his fault.

Lions fan here. I never understood the people dogging on Fields, saying he's a bad thrower and not the future of the Bears. Some of it was from Bears fans. The coaching was the problem last year. It's like everyone forgot how great of a passer he was at Ohio State and everyone started saying he couldn't, and that he was just a glorified running back. He should be talked about with the elite QB's in the league, but is slept on. He can do everything Lamar Jackson can do, maybe even better. Man it's gonna be tough in the NFC North next year for us Lions fans. You guys are closing the season out strong. 👏
OK good point in this case, but you should remember to never compare someone's college league success with the pro leagues. Those are two entirely different games of football, going from college to the pros is like taking an instant leap 5 steps forward.
@rockhaze I totally get that. I'm just saying people acted like he couldn't throw whatsoever and didn't know how. A lot of what he showed in college has come to fruition in the NFL. You can see greatness even at the NCAA level. Sure, most QB's, even the best ones, end up as busts in the NFL. Some of it is coaching, some of it is just not being able to translate to the next level.
