Hi Ern! I live 20 minutes south of Ontario Airport. This airport is so underrated! Instead of flying out of congested LAX, I always fly out of Ontario International Airport, even when I fly to Thailand! Yes, I am Thai like you, well, at least half of you. China Airlines has daily flights to Asia out of Ontario. I will be flying to Bangkok this October via Taipei on China Airlines.
@ I know, right? I want to keep it a secret too but I also want the airport to grow! There was talk about adding an international terminal between terminal 2 & 4. I hope other international carriers will follow China Airlines and fly to Europe and South America from Ontario.
Luck you. You get to return to your base, and home, and not have to non rev to commute home. Looks like an easy day, but then airplanes will be full with holiday travel. Making up time with full flights never happen. Could be more difficult if you add weather and deicing.
Great video as usual and an interesting ‘behind the scenes’ look at delays and how they compound. I would think that without reversers you would have to meet certain weather and runway conditions to be able to operate and this would have to be carefully briefed?
Nice vid, similar to the RR when I worked there you made time at slow speed and in and out of stations and sidings. For some reason we always lost time on 70 mph track.
Love your videos Big Ern! Have a question - how do the waypoints out over the ocean work (SYKES, DORMR, etc.) - are they from satellites or somehow in the water?
As an A&P that was the first thing that came to mind. They could defer it. No biggie just have to deactivate the Thrust Reverser. Write it up in the Log book and kick it out of town. Simple
I use to want to work for southwest so bad . But after learning …I realized You southwest guys do entirely too much damn work in a day man . I would’ve miserable. But it’s all luv !
Goodafternoon Sir When you left TPA did you fly over the gulf to Austin or land. The brisket sandwich is hood, isn't it.? May you & your family have a peaceful & blessed Thanksgiving.❤️💙💛✈️✈️✈️👋🙏🏻🙏🏻
Why does it seem the first officer is always on the comms? I understand for taxi if the captain taxies but shouldn't roles be switching every so often in the air?
You know its gonna be a good day when Ernie drops a new video
A longer video too!
I love the way you enjoy flying and giving us the little details us passengers never see or know
Everybody knows that Southwest will make up their time on the taxiway 😂
I just did a cross country to Austin in a 172. Such a great trip!
Hi Ernie. I hope to have the privilege of having you as a pilot for a Southwest flight from AUS someday

Big Ern is the ultimate pro, cool as they come. Great work on the comms.
Great video Ern. I think we all know that it is rarely the pilots' fault for delays. Thank You.
Hey BigErn! Happy Thanksgiving! God bless!
Thank you very much for this insight. Many greetings from Germany
Love these videos! I’m watching this before my Southwest flight tomorrow 💙❤️🙏🏾

Spray a little WD-40 on that reverse thruster.
Big Ern starting Day 4 on the East Coast = Woo-Hoo👍Busy day & tough task to make up time even powered by BBQ. - Well Done, as Always😎
Congrats! You are always in a good mood !!!!!😅😅😅
Great video as usual Ernie. 😊
Thank you for using ILS. Awesome. Excellent for my flight training
The fact there’s a “Scooby” waypoint is fascinating.
Nice flight(s) Big Ern...thx
Always enjoy your videos and explanations. Will keep on looking for you at airports 😀
Thank you sharing. Let's see how Thanksgiving week will be, hopefully you have that day off.

The first officer was lovin' him some BBQ!

Those approaches get crazy busy!
Ernie is now doing the East Coast, not as much fun as Hawaii I'm sure...
Hummm Bisket Sandwitch in Auston, yum!

It would be awesome working with you!!!

Hopefully you have someone who pulls the ATC recording or you figured out a way to live record.
Glad didn’t go to DAL?! Try DEN lol 😂😂😂😂 Great video!

I keep thinking somewhere in the approach to Austin there should be the BBQUE 🍖 or TACO 🌮route waypoints 🤣
awesome video!

Has to be the best food court at an airport that I know
How accurate was the turbulence app on the Austin to Ontario flight? Was it bumpy or did it to out to be more or less smooth?
So do you have a video on what goes into becoming a captain from a first officer?
Why does it seem the first officer is always on the comms? I understand for taxi if the captain taxies but shouldn't roles be switching every so often in the air?
Ern was on the radio when airborne AUS-ONT
Have you flown the Missouri one livery (n280wn) yet?
Why don’t they take off in the direction they’re going? Doesn’t it take some time to do 180 turns for large commercial aircraft?
My go to in KAUS!!!!!
Ok, if a pilot cannot make up a lot of time in the air, why do you always hear them say they can while waiting for push back?
Is that a paper watch you are wearing??
It happens all the time.
Ern, what's the latest news on your NEW airplane?
I like east side pies and berry austin
Have you ever said the wrong flight number? I think it would be hard to keep it straight which number you are!
