it's 2022 and I am still driving my 1992 V6 Tempo - 4 door. Though it isn't the lap of luxury, I'm satisfied
Good for you, my friend.
It’s 2024 and I’m still driving the v6’s younger brother
I love cars of '90s those reviews are classic for me personally!!!
V6 with 140hp was good back in the day 😱
"they make life unnecessarily difficult." Keyboard player: fuckin' JAMMING
I have a 93 tempo v6 best I have ever had
If the GLS could have had the SHO 3.0 . . wow!
Wheels and Seats off 88 Escort GT... Wish I had one
The 4 cylinder automatic version was dangerously slow for interstate highway travel.
Damn for real
Actually, not that bad with the 1992 updates to the engine. My ex bf had a 92 2.3 with 3 speed auto and it got up to 65-70 no problem. Only thing was, the 3 speed made the engine noisy.
GLS V6- Tempo Really Si' RIMS With system. You will step your game way. Up. LOVE ALWAYS. GREAT ON GAS.
Cool 😀

I had a 1992 Ford Tempo. I liked the looks of the car, but it had the 4 cyl. engine. I needed a road map to pass anyone and on long hills I was down to 50 mph. This car is what made me develop a hatred for 4 cyl. engines. It only got 20 mpg too. I would have loved that car if only it would have had more power.
@Jonathan A My friends at the time were driving the Corsica's and Berreta's.
Interesting
Remember when these came out in the 80s with the inline 5? Advertised as the power of a 6 with economy of a 4, but the reality was the opposite.
??? When did that happen? That would be an awesome Focus RS, or Volvo 5 cyl. turbo swap. Must keep the factory Tempo steel wheels with foam that made them look like aluminum wheels. Look like a Tempo sound like a Lambo. That has rap song potential.
@@pgtmr2713 That would make an interesting sleeper! They also made the Tempo in the early 90s with AWD.
@Jonathan A Looked it up, and it's not listed, odd because our neighbor had one. Guess it goes along with the Chevy Colorado one of my coworkers had, equipped with a V-4, but can't find that engine either.
I drove a 92 Topaz through high school. Just as you describe the dash I hated looking at it. Had repair bills to fix the AC totaling $5,000 and it still didn’t work. The passive seatbelts sucked too. 2.3L auto was awful but it hauled me around trouble free for years.
You coud have done better lol
@@toyoscio I should have been more clear to say I found a stack of invoices totaling into the tens of thousands in the glove box when I bought the car for $100 back in 2003. I drove it for 2 years and put no money into the car then sold it for $500 when I left for college in 05.
@@franknedobity2757 Thank you. I understand now. Good for you. Still a mediocre car at best.
I thought this car competed against the Chevrolet Corsica and Beretta.
LOL
@@toyoscio I don't get it plz explain
Man brings back such great memories. Barrettas were nice cars back in the day. 💯🙌
That and the Dodge Spirit/Plymouth Acclaim were likely it’s most accurate competitor
Long time since I’ve seen one of these in the wild. These were not durable machines, certainly not compared to the roach-like Cavalier.
They don't make those cars anymore
The last Ford Tempo was made in 1994. It, along with its cousin at Mercury (the Topaz), was replaced with the Contour and Mystique for the 1995 model year. The C/M didn't last as long (they were dropped after '99) due to their cramped interiors (they were basically Americanized Ford Mondeos).
This one has a two hundred miles per hour Speedometer😂
Ford was not very smart at being so late to put the 3.0 V6 in it. Should have been an option from the start.
I will like to bay a ford TENPLE
Rather a z24 or sunbird turbo
what an astounding POS car that was. *shiver* horrible memories from that thing.
Once they we everywhere...like cockroaches! Ugh good riddance
@@Jag-leaper coackroaches don't die. Tempos died in droves 🤣
So the Chevrolet cavalier competed with the Ford escort not the Ford tempo Bo. I think his dumb-ass meant to say the Chevrolet Corsica woods what's the actual direct competition. At least on the rental car lots
