@@raecooper8321 Mine died at 141,000km , in 2010 .. the transmission went , i think it was my bad , i never changed it or else i think it would have kept going because the engine was strong
Exactly. It never left me anywhere. That gas peddle was always to the floor though
Man this brings back so many memories. I remember when the stock radio wiring melted. It got a new deck and 2 10s after that.
Crazy- the more things change, the more they stay the same!! XD
This car is a successor of Festiva of the 80's.
I still have mine it's a red 5 speed 4 door originally bought it 7 years ago in California for 350$ best money ever spent

That was my first car. Learned stick in it. That little 1.3 with 63hp brought you to 110mph all the while the speedo needle shook like crazy and made you feel like it was going faster. Google blazin aspire. Thats mine the green one with all the neons. I learned everything on that car. How to.install subs neons radios and mechanical work. Simple things to clutch. Loved that little shit box.
We owned one back in the late 90s. Our kids called it the egg 🥚on roller skates 🤣 We drove it cross country twice and never had any issues just routine maintenance 👍
I spot so many of these on the road still buzzing along all lights working and not looking too shabby. They call them Ford Fiesta here in Auz. Ford's most death proof model was indeed made by Kia. Note also see the Kia Rio of the same vintage surrviving in the hundreds.
They are all but gone from the US roads unfortunately

I got one for $200 a couple weeks ago! I use its for training my German Shepherds.
My first car it was a 97 2 door 5 speed I blew the motor last summer and I’m currently rebuilding it with a turbo
How many miles did you have on it when it blew?

My mom used to have and drove this car, well the 1995 version of it but still. It was a decent car I remember growing up but that car ultimately stopped working as the battery was dead and the car itself was in bad shape of its transmission. And overall that car became nothing but scrap after a long time without her driving it.
I thought these were stylish, cute little cars back in the 90s. 0-60 in 17s is hilariously slow, even for a car of the 90s, when most every car on the road was much slower than cars of today.
Sill own this car and sill running just fine no problem and got over 350,000 km but sadly in thailand this car was sold without abs and airbags which is quite stupid and dangerous!
Yeah the automatic sucks, which is why I'm converting mine to 5 speed. The engine revs far higher than it needs to on the highway.

Geo/Chevrolet Metro from 95-2001 blew this thing out of the water in every way. Way safer too.
I wouldn't exactly call the Metro "safe". But I agree the Metro was a better car. Plus, it was Canadian-made!
BS Geo metro has a reliable engine and transmission but it rust out where the suspension control arm meets the body of the car only solution is to junk the car. It's the metro death anywhere that snows or there's salt.
Many years ago I had a 94 Aspire with an automatic. Embarrassing when an automatic 3 cylinder Geo Metro could out-accelerate me

Was this guy smoking crack.its a small car that has a 1.3L. it's not gonna race on a track.i owned one it was great.
Lowest price vehicle on the market (at the time) with ABS and airbags? Honestly not too shabby.
There were much much nicer japanese cars in 94 for a bit more money.
I LOVE small inexpensive cars but this Aspire was a nasty little machine. My brother owned one with a manual and I drove it several times. Unlike most small cars it was not fun to drive. The interior was made out of deplorably cheap plastic. The entire car felt cheap, cheap, cheap. I always made excuses for us to take my car, so I wouldn’t have to suffer in that unpleasant junk box.
He forgot to mention that it's a piece of crap from Kia.
Aspire was fun to drive for its size; the egg shape is aerodynamic and the car does have some interior space. I completely DISAGREE on having one with a manual transmission! Manual transmissions do NOT achieve any better fuel mileage, for automatic transmissions have improved over the years, and are almost equivalent with manuals, sometimes better! This video may be from Canada, but in America, most drive automatic transmissions. Ford should have never cut this car, for it was fun to drive and was reliable!
