Another gem from 'our Nige', and just another Black 5, eh? '5407 proving yet again that this class is well at 'home' on the banks of the WCML and the S&C. 'She' sounds in top order, with 1st class handling from 'her' crew, a nice grey exhaust - and looking superb coming 'head-on' through KS. Excellent Nige and thanks for sharing.👍
Many thanks George, we’ve been spoilt again with a superb performance on Shap from 5407 with Mick Kelly driving and hardly any assistance from the rear if any, unfortunately that was the last steam over Shap this year but will post a couple of bonus shots one from Shap and one on the return soon, kind regards nige👍
A wonderfull day for steam today with a super show from 45407 and the crew Nige, fullmarks for the opening pan, with the chance of it getting dark if delayed a good choice at K/Stephen with great results, cheers Steve . 🎥👍

@@nige7577 I spoke to Bob and we agreed that Greenholme was the best option for us as he was not staying out for the return leg. I first went to Langwathby for the return leg but then decided to head closer to Carlisle to try and get the best i could out of the light so opted for the curve at Armathwaite where we were treated to some lovely evening light.
Best spot for you both I would say and the way it was looking we could have lost the light but things cleared up somewhat but that’s always a gamble and further north is always a better option.
Good stuff there Nige - I can't help but thinking the black 5s did a lot of the work this year - but of course, plus ca change (when in trouble, use a black 5 or two

It must have been rather jealous of all the publicity its sister 44871 had been getting all summer while it was putting in hard work out of Fort William. Nice to see it on the mainline by itself

I was gutted yesterday nige because I missed it at garsdale and Hellifield so I went to Bentham but no whistle and for a last minute dash Also there's 2 ECS movements Friday and Sunday do you know what loco it is or not bye for now Philip
That’s the trouble when there’s two charters Philip as it’s a gamble whether you can catch both but luckily you were able to catch the Lancashire Fusilier heading back to Carnforth, sorry don’t know what will be on these at present Philip, cheers 👍
