Couldnt believe it... I live in a town with about 1800 people and for years our one and only liquor store never had allocated offerings. Within the last year she has finally been getting some in. Last week I hit gold, this bottle was there and at MSRP! Its a great pour! 🥃
Seeing 49.99 on a receipt for a Stagg is an unmatched feeling lol
Nice!!! I just paid 150 for batch 18 at my spot. Wasn’t even mad either lol.
Same here in MN. Seeing more BT products around and even passing on them. So many good to great craft distillery products and even some fantastic NDPs out there nowadays. Bubble may be bursting.
$89 in NY is as good as it gets.
Got it for $99 in Miami
Batch 12 was the first batch and only batch I've had yet. Tried it around a month ago and it reminded me a lot of ECBP C923. About to buy a 22A from a buddy for 170 and I'm pretty sure my wife got me a 23C for my birthday! Can't wait to say the least.
stagg jr or stagg is a number in itself. I bought my first bottles in Germany for €90. At the moment they are sold out so quickly that I paid €250 for the 22A. But: "You don't treat yourself to anything else"! Thanks for the video!
I don’t know how, I’ve never been able to find stagg before but… found 2 bottles, different batches inside of a week at $59.99… crazy. Soooo good
I like the video and the honesty of what you paid. Keep up the good work.
I haven’t cracked my 22A yet, but the 22B was sooooo good! I cannot wait to open the 22A. Another Great Review
Congrats on getting a Stagg. Would love to find near retail.
Batch 12 and 18 are my favorites. The profiles are quite different but they are both such amazing bourbons.
Just picked my first bottle of Stagg, happened to be a 22A $115.00 in TN. Thanks for the review, cant wait to try it.
Opened my first Stagg ever (22A) for Christmas this evening to share with family. It was pleasant raisin, tobacco, and dates on the nose to me. Super sweet and savory on the palette. It’s so cool to enjoy a spectacular bottle for a special occasion. Your videos are super helpful. Will try my batch 18 next and update.
Lucked into a couple bottles at MSRP. Definitely in my top 3. Fantastic.
Great review and great bottle.
12 is my favorite too. My favorite Steakhouse has a bottle and I help them whittle down on it every time we visit there lol. I will have to try to get my hands on 22A
Stagg 18 was made for me! Everything I love about bourbon is in batch 18.
Traded a Weller single barrel (that I paid $60 for) for 2 bottles of batch 18.
Hopefully, one day, I'll get lucky! Great show as always! Cheers!
I’ve only had one and that’s batch 15. I got a flat cherry coke, brown sugar oak, and a hint of strawberry. Didn’t disappoint. I got a back up of it by luck. Totally different town had it for $199. Hoping to get a different batch some day.
I have B17 and it’s fantastic 🙌🏼
Looking forward to the Double Bass comparison!
Nice Stagg review Jason. I guess when you compare MSRP with other bourbons it`s easily worth double but @ 225 makes you question it`s worth. I have to purchase through Scottish auction houses for anything decent here in bourbon, but since my first Stagg Jr buy I`ve considered it`s quality of flavour worth the money, but I`ve been lucky with the batches. Still got an unopened B12 ready for a special occasion but I`m in no hurry to open it as I`ve got an EC C919 on the go which is sublime.
I lucked into a Stagg 18 at MSRP and it's my only experience with the brand. That said, I freaking love it. I will try to make it last as long as I can.
Love Stagg. I have been able get batches 15, 18, 22B, 22A and 23A. I just picked up 23A last week. Only other bottle I like as much is Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength. Batch 18 is my favorite so far. Have not opened 23A yet. 🥃
The 22A is the first Stagg I ever got my hands on at retail and it’s incredible.
Just got a bottle of 22A in DE for 179 (no sales tax). Never seen a bottle of Stagg in MD for less than 300 so I had to at 179. First bottle of Stagg for me and very excited to try it
I scored a few bottles at MSRP!
Not sure if I ever had batch 12. Batch 16 is probably my second most favorite bourbon.
12 13 14 are my 3 favorites. I have been disapointed with 17 18 and 22b so I am excited to try 22a.
Nice review as always. I have only had two batches of Stagg jr, 10 and 12, and both were fantastic.
But Stagg is no more even close to a high two-digit price it had before the pandamic in Europe.
Now it is 400 euros and up, and thereby clearly out of my buying scheme. So the half bottle left will have to last a bit 🤷♂
Got a sample pour of this yesterday. First Stagg product that I've ever tried. It was delicious. Hot, but not overpowering.
Stagg in all its incarnations is a ghost in the 614. Happy u scored one, Jason, but I've never even seen a Stagg in the wild.
Was lucky to score 22a at retail price and I love this bottle. It’s my first bottle of Stagg cause I’m not willing to pay those crazy prices. I’ve had a few other pours at bars but don’t have other bottles to compare. Thanks for the review though hope to score other batches in the future.
Good for you, dont budge. Let the retailers know you have other options.
Sounds great!
My favorite batch is the one I can get. Nice to admit what you paid. Thank you for the realness.
Just grabbed a 22A for $99.
I’m so excited.
Cracked my bottle today I found over the weekend and it's grape soda all day
Scored a bottle of Stagg 22B through our state lottery at $70! At 130 proof I was surprised that it did not drink hot, but was a sweet flavor bomb. Definitely a pour to savor. Thanks for the great review Jason.
22B was a cherry bomb with some grape for me. Damn good bottle.
Can only find these for $250-$400 in my area. Went out of state and found 22A for $199 and couldn’t say no. Still waiting for a special time to open it with friends and family but can’t wait!
I was lucky to get the 22A for $100. Haven't opened it yet. I've had 16 and 18. 16 was absolutely amazing and I've contemplated buying it for the insane prices on secondary.
Got 22A 4 bottles at a Wal mart today for $55 each in PanamaCity Beach just lucky . Have never found in our Ky hometown of any batch. Great reviews!
Wanna triple your money on one of those bottles?
Can’t wait too see that double bass video .. and Yaa very luck too score these in my market for 50+tax
Patiently waiting for 23a reviews. Was happy to have snagged one.
Haven't even seen pictures of 23a yet.
@@sapefley I have one 🤷♂️ bourbon kingdom has a review on it
22A is my 1st Stagg find. I was lucky to end up with another probably a month later.
Dude! I just walked into a small town liquor store the other day and got this and Elmer T Lee for 60 each. I’ve never happened upon anything crazy like this at/ near MSRP before.
22B has been great so far. Very dark and rich nose and flavor.
I am a huge Stagg fan. I found a bottle last year, but nothing this year 😢
Thanks. I don’t feel so bad about paying $230 today! 😂 I’m a sucker for Stagg.
All I know is I've had 3 batches 10/15/17 and I wasn't big on any of them. None are bad but I wouldn't ever pay more than retail for it. Luckily I landed 18 for retail but based on reviews I've seen I doubt I'll crack it
Won the PA Lottery to buy the 22A. Only Stagg I've ever had. It's really really good!
Just saw 22A at my local. I can probably get for 200 cash. Bought 23c a week ago which is my 1st ever. It's pretty good 🥃
We need an updated Stagg blind. I wanna see 16 go up against 12.
Very interested in that double bass or even a triple with C923 thrown in there.
I have a batch 9 I have yet to crack and two of 22A. The 9 was at retail 5 years ago and unfortunately the 22A’s had an average price of $220. I hate paying that but most stores are asking $300-400. And 22A is an awesome bottle.
I have a 9 and its really good stuff.
Snagged a batch 23A at retail. Never saw 22A. Hopefully it’s good as well, but at 50 you can’t go wrong
Till this day I haven't had Stagg!! Hopefully soon!!!
Great vid. How is it compared to 15? I know you've talked a lot about 15's "candy shop" vibes. Cheers!
Got one in a VA ABC drop last week for $62. WOOT
I just scored one for $169, and very happy to get it...still sussing it but may be my favorite Stagg yet. Last week in the same store I scored a BATCH 17 for $129!!! Where did THAT come from???
I picked up a Kroeger store pick of Stagg that clocks in at 139.4 and with my Safeway discount it's was $55 bucks
Just got lucky and grabbed two of these at msrp at a grocery liquor store
I have 5 unopened bottles of Stagg.....14, 15, 16, 17, and a 22A.. All at MSRP....Yes I fell lucky! CHEERS!
Try Batch 23A. It is like sweet and sour candy to me. So damn good.
Off topic. I picked up some Smokewagon today in Ohio. That was a nice surprise.
Batch 15 is the bomb 💣
Just picked up a 23A @130.2 proof this week for $55
This must be a market supply thing. I got 22A 8-9 months ago. I also already received 22B and 23A.
@themashanddrum you should do a double bass with Ben holladay and eh Taylor small batch!!
Loads of Stagg sitting on shelves in my area priced between 150-200. Good to see people letting them collect dust for once.
Love to hear reviewers being honest about secondary prices. There’s a couple guys in Michigan that love to say they’d pay X amount for something, but what’s the point of saying Stagg is worth $150 if you’re never going to find it for that price? I’d rather hear “This is actual secondary” and is it worth that or not? Good work!
We get this every year at my store lol I allways buy one lol
Just had the option of Stagg 22B, Blanton's Gold and Blanton's SFTB. I choose Blanton's SFTB. Hope I made the right choice.
I have tried batch 12 and it’s really good but I prefer batch 16
I have 18. I never heard of 22A or 22B dropping in Buffalo. I did get a 23A which I’ve never heard stuff about.
You need to do a triple blind with Batch 12, 22A, and 22B.
Question! I'm in a point program with a local store that assigns points to allocated bottles that represent secondary value, but when you cash in on a bottle, you buy it for MSRP. My plan is right now to save 2500pts for a '22 GTS at msrp of 99 dollars. Is any Stagg release worth changing my plan and picking up one for much, much less points?
Just got an 18 for $58 at a Total Wine in KY.
Just picked up 22A. First one I've found of any batch. Way overpaid for 1st Stagg and won't pay for 2nd bottle.. But I paid $299. But I got only 1 of 2 in my area.
Batch 15 is my favorite
I got a 23A and am afraid to open it. Need a second bottle!
Just picked this up in MN TODAY. Man distribution is weird.
I've tried batch 10, only one :P
Found a 22A at my normal grocery store in Washington for $60.
I've seen a Stagg(Jr.) once in the last 4 years.
Stagg here in N Georgia is 300-350. I was lucky enough to get a Batch 17 in a lottery for $65 in December. I probably wouldn’t pay more than $150 for it.
Love love love this bottle. Got lucky enough to get two bottles at MSRP.
got one for 80....sooooo good. Didn't last long
I was very fortunate to buy 4 bottles of this batch this season at MSRP. Kept 2 for myself and 2 gifts
I like batch 16
Yo….HAVE to find a 23a!
15 is still my fav
I'd like to see you do a segment on why it's so complicated to find allocated bottles on the shelf. I understand there's less produced, but there's got to be more to it than that.
Sure
RNDC playing games with retailers, retailers playing games with buyers, buyers that have "screw you" money that don't care what they spend
@@TheMashandDrumdo you have an email address?
I’m with it. There’s 12 and then there’s everything else
I was extremely lucky enough this time around to get two bottles of 22A at msrp. It’s so good! Never was able to get one in the past.
Favorite? I’ve never seen a Stagg in the wild and I’m not willing to pay the markup. 😢
B13 ❤❤❤
please do side by side with stagg 12 and stagg 22A
🤔
Ummm…. Came in to BevMo for the restroom and seen someone hiding it lol I asked if it was gonna be for sale… 5 mins later I’m walking out with a case for 440 (6 in a case) 🤷🏻♂️
Batches 12,14,17 are what i think bourbon should be. Got a 22a on the way. We shall see
Not sure where anyone is finding it at retail, but would love to know??....it's $250-400 everywhere in the 3 state area I hunt.
Have 11, 14 and 16. 16 is favorite. BUT the BJs "Buck Hunt" pick is even better than 16 with all the extra spices and finish. Cheers!
Just got lucky at TW and snagged mine for $53 with tax
Sadly never had 12. Really enjoyed 22B recently, and 15 might be my favorite. Lets face it, they're all really good under $90 which is the most I've had to pay.
I found one today for 38 dollars how lucky can I be
