    Hurricane Andrew did that to downtown Miami!

      Downtown Miami didn't have but 70 to 90 mph winds from Andrew it was all 30 mi south of town that got hit in Homestead. This happened in 1983 with Alicia and 2008 with Ike in downtown Houston by the way.
