I'm shocked why so many people disregard the whole point I was making in this video. Which at the end of the day is all my opinion but it's all based on facts and my experience. Then again considering the one's who want to defend UPS and act like alpha males tend to have little brain cells, so the real statement there is it makes total sense. The whole point of this video is working at UPS is slave work. You make very little but in return are expected to wear your body down to the bone like some kind of machine through borderline illegal work conditions, until you are either forced to a wheelchair or you die on the spot handling packages. Just to be replaced by another willing meat head number that keeps the cycle infinitely going. Their business is ran on fake guidelines, smoke and mirror illusions, and getting away with countless infractions on a daily basis. They allow and advocate for immoral and downright disgusting work practices that put people and property in severe danger. Despite the billions of dollars of revenue they continue to bring in each year. Half their facilities still use old rollers and broken equipment and not one step has been taken to update their facilities with modern technology to take off some of the demand on their employees. Nor have they expanded on the amount of facilities they have or even improved the whole logistics of what shipping is. Because if they had, I assure you they wouldn't have such a huge turn around rates come holiday seasons. A season that happens every year and is no surprise. But when it comes oh god we have to panic hire thousands of people which they end up firing and then are forced to turn around and make their loyal employees work ungodly amounts of hours illegally just to get the trucks out the door. But do they get in trouble for it? No, because it's part of the trade. These companies have been around the block and know every trick in the book to keep themselves out of a lawsuit. That is what today's business model is. Squeeze out every last ounce of work out of someone for the littlest amount of pay possible. And since they do it so often now it's deemed normal and when someone like myself has the balls to stand up and go against it, I get called a millennial and a pussy. Which when you think about it. Being one of the top shipping companies in the world wouldn't you expect them to be at the fore front of improving every aspect of their business? Shouldn't we all be trying to improve human lives and striving for better and better working conditions? Come on UPS! If they aren't going to do it you sure the hell can't expect anyone else to be able to do it. I mean for crying out loud to this day you would be hard pressed to order something that doesn't come all banged up and busted from employees playing basketball with it. Or not being able to track a package for 7 days even though it went in and out of 15 different scan points. I mean there's rollers now that can literally sort packages on their own. But the disgusting part about it is there is no laws set forth to push these companies to do anything. They can sit on their ass literally killing tens of thousands of people while they rack in billions and get praised for doing so. Hell UPS is comparable to a cigarette company with how many people they have sent to the grave. It's about to be 2019. Open your damn eyes! Quit being sheep and blaming millennial's for refusing to be slaves. Times have changed but the laws and regulations which have been perfectly bent and molded to benefit these criminals over the last 100 years has and continues to thrive. The next person I see tell me I have no work ethic because I refuse to accept bullshit from someone who is no better than me can go kick rocks. But please tell me again how they pay for your college and give you this amazing health care. Because if you didn't need that health care before, I assure you that you will come a year or two after working there. That's like buying a house that costs 3 times the amount of an identical house because it comes with free home insurance. I ain't gonna argue if you literally want to use this job as a means to pay for some operation you need. Or to literally get you through a semester or two of college. But beyond that it's a joke and personally I wouldn't even do it for those reasons because you are helping this company succeed. And as for those who worked there for 15 years to become a driver. Well congratz on finally getting to a point of decent pay. I doubt you enjoy all those long ass hours driving in shitty ass weather and bumper to bumper traffic every damn day of the year including holidays though.
Good luck finding a job making 125k a year with free healthcare and a great pension with nothing but a high school diploma. Theres literally no such this as "Pph standards" if you decide to try to meet their expectations you're dumb as rocks. You take your time and move safely. You gotta have a backbone in this place or theyll take advantage of you just like they did this guy.
@@mikeyjo420yo 100k/yr CDL jobs mean you're driving your ass off. And those companies want you to drive (often) When you're tired and sleepy. So please. Don't pretend like you're going to make 100k doing city drives with an 8hr workday
@@rednut6845 - It used to be Fedex, knowing several who left UPS for Fedex. Latter treated their employees more like real people. Of course, Fedex was NOT a union shop. That's key.
Been working at UPS for over a year now and the only supervisor that hasn’t been there longer than me works PD2 with me. Kinda crazy when I have literally all of the merits that should promote me with flying colors. It happens tho I guess
legman till i die your not lying being a driver is just as bad as a preloader.I guarantee your only there because of the money. The drivers get paid 30-40/hr but they work All Day.The managers don’t have to do shit.they actually get in trouble for helping employess
legman till i die why did you waste your life to make it there as a driver I’m a class A driver and didn’t go nearly threw as much hell as you do at UPS
Once you get past the 30 day mark, the job is easy as fuck. Tip to anybody considering working there as a preloader: Supervisors will exploit those who work hard to compensate those who are lazy. So do NOT work more than your specified amount of work, or you will be used.
Robert Leland hard workers get used. I know I did, I got used for sorting like an animal, then I got used as a supervisor, then I got used as a full time manager, then I got used as a sort manager. Now I use my 100,000 a year for whatever I want.
@@alexchavez3244 what companies don't seem to realize is you get what you pay for. Treat your workers like shit their productivity goes down. Unhappy employees are not productive employees. It's a balance though of dimnishing returns when it comes to pay.

Something is definitely not adding up with this guy sounds like one of my coworkers at the Memphis Hub always bitchn' and complaining not used to hard work . Then don’t come to UPS because you will work but not for 10 dollars an hours that’s also BS

I started working for UPS a week before peak season and I was a bit scared at first after reading about the job online and watching videos like this one. My first 3 weeks were hard but after that, it's a piece of cake. I am a loader and I really love my job. I have gone through my 70 days and I am officially staying with the company. At my center we are allowed to have phones and we're allowed to listen to music. There are even people there with Bluetooth speakers blasting out music. My supervisors are awesome and always willing to help you out. They treat us not only like people, but family too. You must have worked at a bad center, and I'm sorry about your experience
I worked there for 7 years when I was a young man. Its worse than boot camp ever day of your life. This guy is telling the truth 100 percent. It is worse than you can possibly imagine. UPS company is a terrible organization.
I did unload, load, preload and sort for 5 years. Left and after a number of years came back as a seasonal driver. 2nd time around. It's a lot different than the PT work. In addition, I became friends with a number of the drivers. Never was friends with any of the PT. The hell with that crap.
Brad Darnell UPS paid for my house, cars and 2 kids through college health care sticks and pension. We don't need you snowflakes that constantly have to have a participation trophy just for showing up. So yeah get lost and thank you UPS and my family thanks you. 33 year vet of big brown!
I feel The Pain your speaking of brother. I'm a Loader at the 3rd largest UPS Hub in the World here in Dallas. I'm a loader and they expected me to start hitting 300 an hour after a couple days on my own. Supervisors Get pissed at the workers cause their managers get pissed at them, and it's a downward spiral of anger. Only reason I'm still here is because I've got some Muscle and strength too keep up with the pace, but I'm moving up to driver as soon as possible. And if I can't, I'll go look for better opportunities elsewhere. Pay is horrible, the job is worth at least $20 an hour with the amount of energy you put into it.
Been at UPS 12 years still not at 20 an hour. lol Just under it. I say it's an okay job, but some people make it out to be what it aint. As a career though, it would be hell. Some people like it though, they feed off the drama.
Sleepy Lovee No, I'm just part time. My career is in art. Financially I don't need UPS, but if I couldn't do portrait work anymore I'd be completely fucked. UPS part time doesn't pay enough to live off of, for part time the benefits is where it is at. Incredible benefits, so long as you don't work hard. I know I refuse to work hard, as I have told my supes many times, if you want me to work THAT hard you're going to have to slide me some serious doe under the table. I've learned to be a bum, hard work will get you no where as a hourly. Hell most of the supes became supes so they WOULDN'T have to work hard.
UPS isnt for everyone. I can see how it would be good for a certain type of person, but you have to put up with a lot of BS... Too much harassment and pressure. There is more to life than money... Gotta have some balance.
$90-$100k after 4 years with no college degree is pretty good. Like I said, the job isn't for me.. But I can see UPS putting more pressure to cut more bennies and pay.
tommyboy0208 You actually don't make that much, more around 40 to 70K depending on where you work and how many hours you get and you will have to work a lot of hours in a very stressful job and you must be a driver. If you're a part timer you will make roughly 110 to 200 a weak after taxes. Typically around 160 and you won't get any benefits for your first year.
tommyboy0208 not after 4 years and definitely no fucking way is that shit happening at part time. Drivers who have been there 30 or so years MIGHT make that kind of money, and then they will probably have to driver the big trucks not the little brown trucks. I've been there 12 years I know exactly what these guys are making.
I've been working at ups for 6 yrs now and I'll tell ya something it's not like how you describe it to be not one bit they don't write you up for not being able to pick up a package over 70lbs by yourself they don't push you to go faster I stack my boxes if I tend to get overwhelmed or get slammed and a supervisor does come out to help when he sees a loader getting slammed but usually it's clear sailing
+Jake g I work at ups in Montreal just started there 6 yrs ago back in 2009 yes they can be horrible supervisors but their are some supervisors with their heads screwed on right and others with their heads up their asses yes it's a tough getting up in the middle of the night dragging your asses to load up trucks with boxes but here is what I did when I first started I just stayed the course you just have to have it inside you remember one thing after 3 months your protected by the union as long as you don't tell them to "f"off it's a tough job it's demanding but the pay and pension benefits are pristine given the fact I was working minimum wage for the last 10 yrs you have to be mentally and physically ready you have to have the right attitude it's not a walk in the park job but stay the course
+Jake G I sometimes pick up boxes by the straps or sometimes I don't bend my knees I never had a work accident in my work career the only reason why they have you go through their safety training is to protect themselves from making payment claims workers compensation board
Me feel better also after hearing your video. Thank You..❤ ... I'm a 61 year old active female.. Went back to work after 5 years of freedom. I JusT wanted the exercise and to feel productive in society again. Money is shit I don't know how people survive on it. Unfortunately I had to walk the fxxk out of Fedupx last FriDaY... I gave my all and was treated like shit... I loved my job in preload.. But I draw the line at being treated disrespectful and working under unsafe conditions. Managers talk safety but don't or won't give a shit. All and all it was an interesting experience I was there 11 months.
UPS has a union. You cannot get fired for not unloading fast enough. The union handbook says “constant and steady pace.” So that’s bullshit to start out. Secondly, I used to be an unloader and unless you’re not trying purposely you can unload 1,200-1,300 an hour no problem.
If you come in with an sprained ankle on your first month working there and they send you home telling you to be in 100% health by the next day when you're not and you still show up anyhow, don't expect to keep that job for long. That's literately the best thing I can say.
For those of you wondering, this guy is pretty accurate to my experience of working at UPS. I was a loader. I also had a supervisor at another job who worked there and he hated working there as well.
hahahahahahaha you honestly have no idea how hard I am laughing at this video, thank you so much for creating this, it's about time somebody puts up a true video about this job.
I tell ya, this job isn't for everyone. I've seen so many come and go during my 12 years at UPS. I still have bad days every now and then but I'll tell you something else, I don't regret sticking with it. It's not an easy job nor is it a job everyone wants or looks for. I love it because of the people. My co-workers aka, my teammates. They make the job tolerable and worth the work. Your experiences are based on the kind of people you worked with. Some are good while others just don't care. Don't blame the company because its like that in every hub. Its the people that make or break you. So if you're contemplating applying for UPS or are wanting to quit, know that everyone's experience is relative. Good luck to anyone going for it!
It is the company, you get what you pay for. When your average new hire is only making maybe 200 bucks a week after taxes, probably a good bit less and you expect them to work their asses off, you're going to get employees who don't give a shit. Just how it is.
I've been at my hub in Pennsylvania for 5 years and I agree with all that but unload is definitely the easiest but some people just don't grasp the accuracy and fast speed right away, the ones that due end up trapped in unload forever. that's what I do. Nor even bullshitting here I do a 200% 53 footer by myself in 1 hr 35 min to 45 min depending on the amount of smalls
Guys, I'm a 30 year old boy because I'm built like a 14 year old girl. I couldn't do this work. My sleep cycle is all fucked up where I sleep poorly during the night, needing to wake up and piss a few tiny droplets 3 times a night where it feels like my bladder will explode if I don't piss out a few tiny droplets. Then I feel like shit during the morning and sometime at noon I have to take a nap which is actually not so much a nap but a continuation of my unfinished sleep during the night. I just sit on my ass all day, never had a real job. But I wrote "Impact" a James Grider novel linked in my video and maybe some of you should use your money earned as UPS loaders or US military people to buy it to support me.
linesiderfix simple not easy. Your conditions matter too, other hubs have ramps and forklifts, we don't and we struggled 2 hrs until we could jerry rig a ramp ready to bust.
You’re awesome! I just quit UPS after 20 years, my husband has 30 years in and we couldn’t agree with you more. Trust us, they did you a favor, that company is getting worse and worse with the way they treat their people.
@@saintseer8214 You can take their numbers and shove them, "I am working as best as I can" is all you need to say. Anymore and you file a grievance for harassment; Union doesn't recognize PPH.
Jake you are funny as hell. But very on point and very true. I worked at UPS for 10 years now and I laughed my ass off the whole time we spoke on this video. I wouldn't even let my worst enemy work here
"Last week was my first real week" It's called labor its not always gonna be easy. I started the same way too. 10 years later I'm a driver, I have a couple of nice cars, a roof over my head and able to party on the weekends. It's not always gonna be BS. You should've stuck it out.
Kids nowadays are straight lazy bitches?!? I'm a driver as well... had to put my time in as well... I will definitely make over a $100,000 do this year. Thank you Ups
I've worked at UPS since last peak season (November 2013.) I started off seasonal, they kept me part time but I'm surprised I put up with the job for as long as I did and seriously resent myself for doing so. I'm an unloader too, I mean yeah it sucks but after awhile it's nothing. When I first started I was brutally sore after the first night and the second night I almost passed out. But after awhile my body got used to the labor and I have less muscle than you. But I'm leaving at the end of the year, not because I got a better job opportunity but because I'm flat out sick of it, staying at this job is killing my motivation to pursue better things. I have no desire to be a driver so there's no point in me staying. UPS's production standards are unrealistic with their "safety" standards. As much as I hate the place, I've been an exceptional worker. The union is no better either, they'll get mad if you work too fast just like the supervisors get mad if you work too slow. So if anyone's reading this, unless you're serious about becoming a driver, where you'll make an actual living, do yourself a favor and run like hell from UPS.
I hear ya man. My intentions was to work through the first couple weeks and get used to it. I wasn't going to quit like a lot of people do after just a few days. But my supervisor hated me from the moment I walked in there. I don't really know why but I knew he was going to be a bitch the moment I saw him but I'm the complete opposite. I didn't give off any vibes but they could do whatever the fuck they want to ya if you haven't joined the union. Half the people in management fucked themselves to their positions it's really quite sad. They tell you they need people and they make you believe you will be given 30 days to meet their expectations but it's all a damn farse. And personally I'm glad they spend all their time and resources on training people they just turn around and fire the next day. I swear a lot of the shit they told me they turn around and do the complete opposite. My hip to hip trainer and my brothers gfs mom who helped me get in both told me they really liked me but it don't mean shit when your supervisor has a dick up his ass.
***** I recommend UPS to anyone going to school, I've been with the company for 10 years now and I know a lot of people who go to school and work at night, they love it. my advice to you is just be on time and don't miss a lot, work hard during your probation, after that take your time, the job is easy once you get used to it
Worked there 45 years ago at Christmas, while going to school . Four am till eight am , and I see they haven't changed one bit . Make you think you were back on the plantation, finally had enough of the breading and told the superior that if he got in my face one more time , one of us gonna take a ass whooping
You think Uploading is bad? Try LOADING! Not trying to downplay your situation, but loading is crazy! You have to keep up with the packages going down.
Lol unfortunately in Portland we are the biggest hub this side of the West Coast so we are forced to scan. And even the, management is saying in the next 5 years at minimum, our hub is going to be auto-sort. So Everyone with seniority is just gonna be high volume or label flippers lol. #AndIGotStaffedAtSort 😭😭
I agree UPS is a shitty ass job, you're better off working at mcdonalds . Not gonna lie its hard work, I could do it, it wasn't a problem, only because I'm young. Thought it would be a good job cause they start you at 11, but then you join the union and the take a hundred out of you paycheck so you bring home about a hundred bucks sometimes less. Then the assholes started asking us to donate to charities like wtf you already pay us crap. They said it's an option, so I told my supervisor I'm not donating to a bull shit charity, then a few days later he ask again to pick a charity, then the boss starts asking me to pick a charity, so much for an option. Everyone else caved in and picked a charity but I said fuck that . It's not a career you wanna look into, especially if you want to become a driver, so much bull shit. I was gonna become a driver, but you start as a cover driver, they make you do an unload shift first, then if they need a driver you do the route, and the route can take all day. so you start at 4 am and work over 12 hours for only 13 an hour. It's not worth it. You're better off busting your ass at a real job that pays well. Shitty part is that it's not even a full time job and you don't any breaks. Only reason I stayed for was because there was a hot co worker with a nice ass lol, then she quit, so there was no point in working there anymore.
Scotty G It's funny because when they recruit you they have a whole speech about how you would rather work at UPS than McDonalds because of all the benefits and shit lmao
You hit the nail on the head. I know several people who work at UPS, & ever since they went to shareholders everything immediately got worse. They put unreal expectations on all their workers. I have worked as a driver helper for a few years but stopped doing that because it wasn't worth it after having to pay union dues for a union that doesn't do anything for me during my 2 months of employment
Agreed Jake. I worked for Fed Ex and due to their negligence, my right pinky was nearly severed off. They fought me through the labor department, but I won that settlement for my missing pay because I had a complete paper-trail. Fed Ex left me to bleed when their improperly loaded boxes exploded off the back of the truck in the warehouse... I went flying 9 feet into the air just missing the rollers and hit the pavement. No one cared. After 5 minutes bleeding on the floor, they escorted me to the office. No Ambulance...nothing. I was a disease to them. After a half hour, they sent me with a supervisor in his car. He took me to the clinic... the doctor began to lecture me, so I asked him.. are you going to examine my bleeding finger? He finally came over and prodded it... I asked him, is it time to go to the Emergency yet? He said yes. Got back into the sup's car and he drove me to many places for a half hour...couldn't find a hospital. He called for directions and the nurse asked him...would you like me to send an ambulance to your location? He said no. Finally made it to the Hospital. They put in stitches and a cast. After the stitches came out, I finally had surgery to repair a major severed nerve. It's been a year and I have lost about 50% use of my finger and hand. I used to play guitar... now I can not play Flamenco finger picking. I was told I cannot sue due to California changed the laws and my accident falls under workmans compensation. I am totally screwed. When I was working, it was like prison in there. Only thing missing was a whip. And no, I am a veteran United Van Lines driver and mover for many years with zero injuries. Fed Ex was fined for 2 OSHA violations... One was an improperly loaded truck with no safety straps in place. Second was that they didn't call an ambulance. Thanks for sharing Jake. People need to know the truth. And your right ... they throw and trash all the boxes. Oh.. a lady was visiting the warehouse and she was sucked up into the roller gears... ate her alive. The machine was supposed to be off and one person holds the key. Well, the machine was turned back on and had no repairs done to it. She's gone. Well, what do you expect from a company that does not care about people and safety and that's run by children. Best wishes Jake!
Hey Jake I worked for UPS for three days as a material handler. They got rid of me because I didn't have the warehouse skills required. Anyway while working there I ran into strange coworkers there. There was a supervisor who wasn't like anyone I meet in my life. That person was downright ridiculous. I didn't want to waste my future working with that person anyways so I am glad they let me go.
I honestly don't expect much else lol. But that sucks man. Literally 3 days. I'm sure they told you that you had 60-90 days to get to their standards. I don't understand how they can jump to saying you don't have what it takes to do this position before you even had a chance to learn anything. Utterly disrespectful of people's time and well being.
Thank you so much for replying to me man. You have a very supportive attitude over the situation I went through. When I worked for them I wasn't in shipping and receiving. I opened up packages and verified electronic items. I was through Manpower job agency. After those three days my sister said they didn't want to stretch it out. I just moved here to Portland, Oregon from upstate New York. At jobs in New York State probation periods ran for like five weeks then they decided if they wanted to keep you or not. You are right about literally 3 days before having a chance to learn anything. While working there I overheard through a temp agency you worked 300 hours then UPS decided if they wanted to keep you or not. Thank you so much for replying.
It breaks down to 1 package on the belt every 3 seconds to flow 1200. Not that hard. I've unloaded for over a year now and I enjoy it. Prefer it than loading. If you're scared of hard work don't work there.
+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials It's called optimum carry. Nobody is grabbing one package at a time when loading trucks. Unless it's an ireg. 4-6 packages, sometimes more are being carried onto the truck for loading at a time.
Yeah but sometimes well most of the time they take advantage of people just so they can look good for their boss. You probably work at a hub who gets like 5,000 packages a day lmao which I can do that shit in like 4 hours by myself or less. Stop talking shit bruh
I see a UPS driver at my job (hospital) and the guy is limping and his back hunched over from all the wear and tare on his body. The guy looks in his early 50's but walks like an 80 year old man.
Jake what you just said there is exactly what's happening to me as an unloader in FEDEX!! I started like over a month ago, and making 10.95 an hour. Working only 3 hours a day. I'm living out of my truck and barely making it. Somedays I go without eating just so I can have gas money to make it work and school. Best thing I ever did was finish school. I graduate next week, and ready to tell FEDEX FUCK OFF! Thanks Jake for your input, it definitely open my eyes.
Been working there for like 3 months now and I haven't stopped being sore since. This is one of the truest videos I've heard about the job. xD I see and hear everything you have said in the video at work. Walls being torn down, throwing packages, EVERYTHING. It is not a fun nor an easy job. If I were in a position to quit I would. But I have to pay the bills and keep on moving until I can find a new job. Anyway thanks for posting this video, It shows i'm not the only one who feels this way about the job. I too take aspirin constantly now haha.
I’m a loader at ups and the things I hate the most is that’s there’s like 7 freaking supervisors there telling you to go from one place to another. I honestly don’t know who to listen to anymore, and they always make you break jams on the slide which in the safety videos tells you NEVER CLIMB ON BELTS AND SHUTES. The supervisors don’t help you with anything all they do all night long is ride that stupid orange train around the building all night long shouting at every loader and unloader to work faster, heck they even have a ps4 in the room where the supervisors hang out which honestly is complete bull shit, also for all the money ups makes why in the hell do they never replace the belts on the primary feeder load? There falling apart and the stop sensors don’t work, so there’s packages falling on your back when your building the wall of packages... I have so many more things to say that I hate about my job. So sorry if I went on a full rant here 😂😂
I've been a upser 21yrs in the hub. Im going to make $80,000 this year minimum. You just have to work safe NO MATTER what any supervisor says. Job hopping won't ever get you the big checks we're all looking for.
Amen, medically retired after 20 years. Hurt by a drunk driver that hit me head-on. Just set a safe steady pace and the speed will come. Just let the bullshit go in one ear and out the other. Harassment is their bread and butter. Just do your job safely, ride out the 30 working days till you reach seniority then they can kiss your ass. If you let them get to you to the point you quit they win. It isn't the same place it was back in the 90s when I started at $8 an hour. It's full of management that don't have the experience in the business or operations to know what they're talking about let alone train people to do. Just focus on what your directed to do and if they don't like it, thats tough for them. Safety First thats the only mindset you should have. To all my brown brothers, be safe.
Just started this week, first 2 days putting boxes on the belts, lifting boxes non stop for 5 hours, now they've put me Loading trucks, I was excited, I thought it was going to be better but it isn't, they don't even give you a 10 minute break, the heat is crazy, and constantly telling everyone to pick it up. I'm gonna stick to it for a while, but its not worth it. Many people who've been working there for years look miserable, and limpy when walking. You're absolutely spot on.
He's telling the truth!!! I work there now as a loader and trust me, I'm trying to quit now. I only been there for 4 weeks. I'm surprise I made it this far
Today was my 2nd week. And let me tell u. My trainer was on my ass the whole time, I would put a box down n he would move it, so u know what. I quit that bitch. $10.35 is not enough 4 what they have u doing .
z z You're assuming everyone wants to be a driver or wants to work for UPS for life. I teach paint night and make more than that. I do tattoos chiefly and make WAY fucking more than that. I also work part time at UPS for the health benefits and I'm probably the laziest person there, I get sent home 3 or more days out of the week.
@z z not everyone wants to be a driver tho. I took the job because I thought it would fit in with my school schedule but quickly realized I could literally work anywhere else for the same pay. Also, the drivers start at 9am and I always see them still driving around around 8pm. What kind of life is that? Fuck that.
I love this. I’m sad because I still work there, but I love this. You tell it like it is, and yet we didn’t strike in our last contract negotiations. Honestly your lucky you got out, blessing in disguise. It is kind of sad what a person can get used to.
I agree. I’ve been at ups for 6 months now and the only good thing about this job is the benefits. DO NOT TAKE THIS JOB FOR THE MONEY. The management sucks and is so unorganized. They say you need help to pick up a heavy package but they’ll have you do it all day until you get hurt and they’ll try to write you up. I recently got hit by a 150 package in the face because of the box ripped and it ended up cutting my face. They tried writing me up but my shop steward had to protect me and I ended up not getting a write up. But that’s another thing until your passed your probation your fucked
martin garcia Sounds about right. From my own experiences and from what a lot of people say they will flaunt their power and try to write you up for everything. Most of the time just taking advantage of employees who wont stand up for themselves or know the manual and what they can and cant actually do. Its literally ridiculous and down right borderline illegal the stuff they try to pull. Sorry youre dealing with that shit. Get out asap.
Turned 18 and worked as a walmart unloader for a year. Pretty much broke my entire body, now I have pain all day everyday. Worked until I couldn't. the back room was my torture chamber, but it was my first job, couldn't resist those paychecks. No matter how hard I worked, couldn't satisfy managers I'm a moron, and I am suffering for it.
hahaha i love this guy!!! i worked as a driver helper last xmas in texas. that was cool i guess but then i got hired in june of this year as a package handler/ loader. This was a horrible shit post slavery job hahaha. The warehouse feels like the temperature is set to iraq!!! Youre def over worked and way under payed!!!
Try FedEx. I worked there when I was 18, 120lbs. I had to have been the least productive worker in the joint, and they still wouldn't fire me. Eventually I quite myself, it was just too much damn work.
+Nonchalant Gamer Right on, man. Safety, safety, safety... fuck, I'm tired of the bullshit. Three trucks, 200 packages each, loaded properly in three hours. Fucking sucks! HD delivery is no better. You'd better have those carts loaded and the rollers kept clear or you're given a god damn FedEx P.R.I.D.E. lecture. Ridiculous.
I started working there last December 2017 and stayed 3 months before I quit. When I got the job I was really excited! The hiring process was a very positive experience. I thought UPS being a good company combined with my honest, respectful, hard work ethic together would make a great match. It was to my great disappointment that it didn't work out, I must add it was the worse horrible job experience by a long shot I've ever had. Unrealistic Expectations, Disrespectful Management, (very few good ones) Negative Energy (a smile is rare) It's felt degrading when you must clear a security checkpoint search to leave. Scandalous time clocks: if schedule has your start time at 3 but your asked to come in at 2 and you do, the time clock will not count your time until 3 even when you punch in at 2. Funny how they worry so much about employees stealing yet they skimmed my check for weeks until I figured it out. But hey the big corporation would never pick on a little guy, right? RIGHT! I left disgruntled & distraught to say the least but I'm past it and way better off now. Just in case, for the record UPS if your reading GO FUCK YOURSELF you POS!
Dude! I looooove you! I am so happy you posted this and expressed PERFECTLY my feelings, thoughts and experienced!!! You keep going, and I keep cracking up out loud because you keep saying. EACTLY everything I went through but I was loader 350 pph. You have saved my life and mind by sharing this!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I also started in 105 degree heat. The sorters would throw the packages right off the belt. My second day I worked by myself. I had two hours of video training thank God. Our ramps were manual. I am watching this over and over, you are saving my life dude. I quit by the way because everyone was telling me I was kickin’ but, but the manager kept reading me my substandard numbers. I lasted 9 days. And I am an extreme athlete who has been through hell mentally and have acquired huge discipline my entire life. Thank you again and again!!! And I loved my supers btw. I pray you get an AWESOME job!!! You are AWESOME!!!
TLC 23 I quit on my second day fuck UPS is a terrible job to work at you have to carry so much heavy shit I damage my back to that shit the supervisors are fucking assholes to you you have to watch our videos and I thought asleep and they make you take your test it’s a terrible job to work out every day I come home sweating like a fucking disgusting human being I quit after two days because it’s a terrible job to work at
I can relate to this quite well actually. No lie, I was cut from UPS after having worked there for a month. I gave my best efforts I could but it seems that UPS doesn't care about anyone, PERIOD. They expect you to not have anyone talk to you about your mistakes at all and they want you to be 100% everything single day. If you're not, you're getting thrown out the door my man. Me, I can not even say I want to spend the rest of my life living miserable and stuck in the rat race. I have to say this video inspires me by not only from my personal experience working at UPS but how much it sucks to be an employee having other people control your life and not allow you to live it the way you want.
I work for UPS and have been for 2 years now. I loaded my first year, and unloaded my second. It is VERY hard work, but I think most people are capable of accomplishing it if they try hard enough and do it long enough to get more used to it. I can't even describe the amount of physical pain that this job causes literally everyone at one point or another, and it's definitely not worth it unless you plan on becoming a driver eventually. I spent my first two weeks unloading, and I sucked big time at my job. I was way to slow and my muscles were way too sore to repeatedly lift those heavy packages quickly enough. It was in the late summer and there were multiple times when I almost got dehydrated because they weren't giving my any time to drink water. Now I am officially the fastest unloading in the building and although the work isn't too much easier, I have gotten used to it, and I actually sort of enjoy it for the most part. At some locations, the supervisors give up on new employees too easily. If my sups gave up on me when I started they would be missing out on a wonderful worker right now. So in my opinion, by not giving you a chance, it's their loss.
Lol, preload 5 years and now a driver, I love it. Career for life, my loyalty runs deep. Not saying that that your points aren’t accurate, and I remember feeling like you did in the beginning, but your body adjusts after a while (I’m a 5 ft tall gal). UPS just isn’t for everyone.
@@korasager7192 I'm on my 3rd week of preload and I feel like quitting. Today I guess I loaded the truck wrong, the driver had to pull everything out to fit the last packages and it slowed me down a lot. At that moment I felt like quitting.
@@jahleelsayers-ns3ze I want you to know, that’s not your fault. The order that you are told to load the truck, the order that the computer system tells the driver to deliver the route and the order in which the truck actually gets delivered are all very different. Give it 120% of your effort every day, talk to your drivers and work together. Preloaders are the unsung heros of UPS. Every race car driver has it’s pit crew and that’s what our preloaders are!
U are so right they work u like a horse and plus when u first start they send u home like every other day early bc they are trying to save money.that job is for the birds.sometimes we would be waiting to start working and the supervisor would say we have to send u guys home bc we have to give the work to the ones that have been working for us the longest.so that means u drove 45min to work just to be sent home smh.not a good company to work for
@Stuart bailey 3.5 for benefits. But be wise they wont pay for leaving early. If you call in and have sick days then yes. Also save your days to carry over for the next year. I use only maybe 3 out of the 9 given per year. And two optional days for bdays.
This guy is honestly all true they fucking treat you like shit in there there was a time where my supervisor called break time and he told me no break for you you keep going
I did it and it was a crappy experience, they put me on the big trailer working my myself most of the times and i was very hard to scan and load packages at the same time because they came down at the same time at a fast pace, and the supervisors were yelling like crazy at me,i tried the best but it didn't work out and they fired me after a month that was bullshit
to anyone reading this thinking of being a package handler… only do this if you’re ready for an INTENSE workout for about 4 hours straight. no breaks unless the belt stops miraculously for a few seconds. i’ve almost passed out / threw up. i’m a 19 year old college student lol so i should be fit for the job but even football players in the trailers next to me struggle.
Hahah you are so true. I'm a loader I load the boxes on delivery trucks, but I've been all over the warehouse so I completely relate to everything you say. But I'm not quiting.... I throw packages ALLLLL THE TIME lmao: across the slides, onto the belts, like you said.. if there is a wall of boxes; let the bitches fall, I don't care hahah NOBODY CARES. One of the supervisors actually said let them fall lol
@ they work shit out of you fr lmaoo , I use to get 9 rec tech grills in a row a trampoline and two tvs , I cut the belt off on they ass till someone come helped
Daaammmm I was listening to you then all of a sudden you just yell SHUT THE FUCK UP BEAR ... scared the shit out of me then I started laughing !!!! Good one lol
Miles Williams I understand it's a workout being an unloader/loader. Ontrac is hiring, and their warehouse is 2.5 miles from where I live. Kinda reluctant to apply because of all the negative comments about this kind of work. Is it that bad? I don't mind doing labor, but not back breaking labor.
Jingy2003 There's a difference between labor and this kinda labor. And you can say ah you get used to it but it doesn't mean that justifies the pay nor the fact they want constant machines, and the amount of stress you put on your body day after day. I don't understand why people say its a good work out cuz every strength trainer and body builder will tell you not to work the same muscles more than twice a week so in the long run it does more damage than good.
Jake G. i can relate to what you are saying, I just resigned after 3 and a half weeks, as a loader, that job tore my body up legs from all that bending and pivit twisting and my right arm from throwing bags, this was the most unbelievable pain and hurting ever, putting on Ben gay just about every night and taking bare back and body and Excedrin meds and was also all but twice the guys ages loading semy 18 wheel truck trailers up to the very top just as you stated in this video, even the twenty something guys and gals were quitting left and right as new people were coming in every week to replace those that had left, by the way i first worked there back in 1999 as a sorter and only lasted a little over a month only to come back and have someone that's been there for some years, tell me its only gotten worse lol . even a training supervisor was quitting that following Friday while in my second week as a loader, and yes not to mention you for most of the time had to load two semi trucks when caught up help in a 3rd etc etc etc i can go on and on with the twenty something year olds talking about how tired they are, this job is stupid, the pay, quitting etc ,but glad i watched your video for it was spot on dude with every thing you said, peace to ya bro.
Bla Blah well i went to fedex and it sucked hard like extremely bad im by no means extremely fit but im not awful and it had a huge stress on my body literly after 3 days my back was thrown out and i was lifting 150+ pound boxes solo for 8-16 pallets from 18 wheelers and 2 delievery trucks over all i would say its good if its all you have left if you have other options go somewhere else it really stresses your body in a bad way.
UPS or success is not for the weak. Ups is great company. I started at ups a loader at the age of 17 part time. By the age of 21 I was a full time driver making 70 thousand a year. I've been there 18 years and now I make 100 thousand a year. What job pays this kind of money without an college degree?
Damn dude thank god u made this video. I literally just made an appointment for the sunrise shift or whatever I was supposed to go to the appointment at 6:30. I saw this video and immediately went back to the site and cancelled my appointment😂😂. And I'm literally $200 in debt in my bank account and have car insurance to pay, but listening to you in this video, I'll take my chances and be broke and look for something better lmfao
+Cellkist It is a bad job. Doesn't matter if you have shitty supervisors or not the work is still ridiculous. You'll find that out 20 years down the road when your body is falling apart. If you want to take your chances and you want to work like a machine for a company that doesn't acknowledge your work, if you want to be another number to a billion dollar company who could really give a damn about you then by all means ignore everything I said in this video. There are tons of better jobs out there that offer great insurance and have a lot more freedom to move up and actually get acknowledged for what they do. Sadly there's people like you out there who can't look further than the local listings in their newspaper. By all means if you want to do physical work if thats your thing then do it. I will admit they are one of the few who give full insurance for part time so if you have no other options then go for it. But I have no regrets in leading people away from this position because it's a whole lotta bullshit no matter how you look at it.
I've been recognized and praised by my supervisor and the suit that runs my dock after only three weeks working there. They already moved me to the heavier dock 7 where I get paid an extra dollar an hour. It's very likely I'll be getting promoted by the end of next year and run my own dock. They definitely do care, it's just your experience sucked. I don't know how the un-loaders are doing at my station, but where I'm at loading the package cars, everything is golden. It's difficult, but that's expected. TLDR: Your experience does not speak for the whole company.
I got an e-mail about a tour tonight, and UPS just called me but I let it go to voicemail. I have a bad back, and I'd probably end up in a hospital if I take this job. My wife and I need money because she makes just enough to cover the bills, with nothing left over. I want to think I can handle this job, but my back gives me shit all the time. I need a desk job. Data entry or some shit.
+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials man if your back gives you problems off the bat don't do it, take from someone whos 22 and wrestled since teens this f#@%$ your back up to so many levels your best bet there would be if u got placed sorting , you have a set spot and don't lift anything > 70lbs or if youre placed in small sorts which is uncommon
Wish people wouldn't yell at their pets. All pets want from us is attention & love. If he would have just picked it up, it would have been quiet & content.
My body started hurting after 6 months in sort isle. I started to slow down and handle the packages right. No twisting my spine ,lifting with my back, or tossing box's on the belt. I tried to be safe. The manages had other ideas they switch me around to places where if I was slow my teammates would suffer. They try to put that pressure on you to work fast and reckless. They mention safety but they don't practace safety. The manager would tell me "why don't you work as fast as him" referring to the 6 foot 2 super buff dude next to me. My answer was " I'm not him " they will try everything to get you to work like a slave with no regard for your health. Eventually my manager got mad at me for going to slow he began yelling at me to move faster and faster . I kept my pace and said to him "I can work fast or safe which one " Stunned the motherfucker pretty good. He walked away without another word. The next day I was transfered to another location in the building. A slower one I might add. Extra : I was also fired for being slow. I went strait to hr where they told me the manager was full of shit showed up next day like nothing happened and smiled. They just want you to work like a slave and they will lie to do it.
As a seasonal member They didn't teach me any of that shit like bending your knees, they got me and another dude preloading 3.5 trucks each DAY 1. Is that weird that they do that to us? I also pop pain killers and my ankle has been damaged. Also since its seasonal the earliest i start is 9pm all the way to 9am. Lol I took off today, after 2 weeks cause my ankle is fucked up. Fuck that shit. They got us in the ice cold no heat at all billions of boxes ice all over the floor. Hell no. Ive literally been sore since I started. THen they had the nerve to make us work saturday for what??? and then come in 10:30 last night...nah brah i need a day.
Bro I’ve been working at UPS for like 2 months now and everything you said is 100 percent true shit fucking sucks they slave you and don’t let you leave on time and if you work hard they’ll just take advantage of you I’m thinking about quitting in February
Everything you described holds true when I worked at FedEx. I was fine for 2 years at the UPS I’m currently working at. At my hub, before we closed Day Sort, only they cared about the numbers while the Night Sort doesn’t really care about the numbers as long as all the unloaded trailers are empty.
So apparently I wasnt picking up boxes by bending at the knees. Bullshit dude, I'm tired of all these jackasses who get their dicks sucked by UPS supervisors and ego trip over how it's not hard work and that I'm a pussy cuz I couldn't handle it or something. It's clear all 85 people who disliked this video are supervisors themselves or dick ride everyone who disses the job because they need to feel entitled for being a slave at a shitty business. News flash you aren't suddenly the most baddass dude just because you work at UPS, youre actually a dumb fuck who lacks a functioning brain and can't get a real job thats worth a damn. And it really makes me laugh because the only thing I said about the work itself was that they expect you to move at a ridiculous pace right out the gate, and that everyone i talked to said take pain killers for the first month. I had no trouble picking up 70 - 90 lb packages but if you think I did your once again a fuckin dumbass. It's the fact they expect machines and if you don't realize this and dont acknowledge the slave labor your undergoing when working there then you don't deserve anything better in the first place.
+Jake G I worked at UPS for nearly two years as a loader, and I didn't have nearly the negative experience you had. I had excellent supervisors who were friendly and appreciated the work that I did, I never had the pain you spoke of and I was easily able to meet my required speed as a loader. It's a physical job, but we are paid for it, and it's a job you can't really get fired from, which is great too. For you to turn everyone away from UPS and say they are a bad company due to your experience there, it just isn't fair. Just because you couldn't handle the workload doesn't mean it's a terrible job.
+Shane Wallick It is a terrible job. Please define what you consider terrible? Throw out all the bs I dealt with my supervisors and it's still a ridiculous job. If they could have machines do it for them they would. Honestly I question why they won't switch to machines it would be a whole lot more efficient.
Even if you have bad supervisors, I loved the people I worked with, I got paid to work out, and you have the union to protect you. Being in a Union was pretty amazing actually.
This video could’ve not been explained any better. UPS REALLY doesn’t give a fuck about it’s employees and REALLY does look at its employees as numbers. The working conditions are horrible and the volume of packages a day are ridiculous. DO NOT WORK FOR UPS
I started last week at $15 per hr. Night shift for unloading. And everyday I worked I ended up exhausted and in pain lol . But the funniest thing is how cocky all the other workers there are about how hard they work 😂 I’m like damn they really take pride on how they are being exploited 😂 on a daily . I can make this same amount of money for way less work. Trust me.
I'm an unloader and I'm not half as big as the guy in the video, yet I'm on my sixth month there. Every day I pray that they will fire me and free me from that trailer hell, but all I get is a 'see you tomorrow.' I would quit myself if I didn't know that my family would wring my neck. Everyday I go in, I unload, I move irregs, I get a leash thrown around my neck and sent to other departments to help out until the overlords say I can leave. Which almost always is when they themselves are free to go home. The silver lining is it is more hours but fuck sometimes I just want to go home. That aside tho some differences in my experience is they only want you to put 1000 packages an hour on the belt and I don't have to pay attention to labels facing up except when unloading the huge irregs. other than irregs, I can just throw that shit on the belt any way I please. That business about bastards slamming packages on the floor when tearing down walls is true. I was straight up told "ups has insurance, don't worry about it. just get all that shit on the belt." I also felt the soreness explained in the video my first few weeks at ups. Tho I never used painkillers because I don't trust them. I let my body heal naturally. It used to feel like I had broke my arms & hands and I would never lift again when I got home because they would be so sore, swollen and numb. But for some reason I was able to lift regularly when I got back to work. After a few weeks of unloading I stopped feeling any sort of soreness, swelling or fatigue. I just feed packages to the beast as fast as I can, clear my trailer, do whatever else they need me to do and leave feeling no worse than when I came in.
i just strted wrking there 2 weeks ago and it is hard wrk...they promised a 75.00 bonus if u came in everyday and Thursday i got my check and it was not there.i talked to supv and hr no one knows anything...this job sucks and they slave you...Im freaking quitting tonight...this is bullshit...
I'm a Outbound supervisor at Ups (where the loaders are) and must say I am sorry to hear about what happened to you and your experience. A lot of things you said do happen. However the fact that they fired you for showing up late one day is unusual. I have never heard of anyone ever getting fired for showing up late one day. So that is BS. However most facilities are not like that. We do care about our employees. I wish I had an employee like you who tells me he cares about flipping labels and and cares about actually doing the job right. Because I deal with a lot of people who just don't give a shit about the job and get away without because they have a union to protect them. As management, we don't have a union. So consider yourself lucky if you do. Management is the toughest job there. So trust me, I know how it feels. However I'm used to the job and overall like it. Ups has great opportunity and benefits. Not to mention my pay is pretty nice. It was my first and only job and appreciate it.
strapwood hey if you see this, any advice for someone they're asking to become a supervisor? I started as a seasonal hire for peak back in December, they picked me up permanently, sent me from unload to sort, and now they're asking me to become a supervisor in the next few months. So, any advice?
They really be like this cuz they really want the labels facing while and be in mind not all labels ain’t going to face it up 10/10 but expect u have the labels face up
I'm shocked why so many people disregard the whole point I was making in this video.
So please. Don't pretend like you're going to make 100k doing city drives with an 8hr workday

legman till i die why did you waste your life to make it there as a driver I’m a class A driver and didn’t go nearly threw as much hell as you do at UPS
Once you get past the 30 day mark, the job is easy as fuck. Tip to anybody considering working there as a preloader:
Supervisors will exploit those who work hard to compensate those who are lazy. So do NOT work more than your specified amount of work, or you will be used.
NickBigsmoke Very good point. This applies in all jobs.
NickBigsmoke yeah and if people act like they can't handle one job they will get an easier one.... nice common sense yeah?
NickBigsmoke Exactly!! I learned the hard way! Left me loading 5 trucks solo in the doghouse. Lololololol!! Gotta love the workout, tho!
Robert Leland I know that location, have you ever been to the Tualiton Oregon Location?
Robert Leland hard workers get used. I know I did, I got used for sorting like an animal, then I got used as a supervisor, then I got used as a full time manager, then I got used as a sort manager. Now I use my 100,000 a year for whatever I want.
Thats 95% of jobs now today.. They dont give a crap about employees.

Everybodys throwing packages. Thats facts!
im always throwing them cause fuck those packages plus UPS pays for the damages

I RECOMMEND YOU working out in the fields picking up veggies :) hehe bending over almost the whole day and you wont get pay over time just saying.
Yeah, but you can wear brown.
Dude I've been there 3 weeks this is all true.
Brad Darnell UPS paid for my house, cars and 2 kids through college health care sticks and pension. We don't need you snowflakes that constantly have to have a participation trophy just for showing up. So yeah get lost and thank you UPS and my family thanks you. 33 year vet of big brown!
started working at UPS in October of 2022, and everything you said in this video still holds true. it’s amazing, honestly
I worked there for 2 months and quit. Don't regret it for a second.
How long have you been working at ups
damn. I'm 18 and was thinking of applying at the one in DFW airport. guess I'll think again. I have no muscles as you can see lmao
Been at UPS 12 years still not at 20 an hour. lol Just under it. I say it's an okay job, but some people make it out to be what it aint. As a career though, it would be hell. Some people like it though, they feed off the drama.
as a career it would be hell? I assume ups is your career you have been working there for 12 years ?
Gotta have some balance.
lol It doesn't even pay well anymore and the benefits have been cut down.
I worked at UPS. I know what these guys are making... And some of them are hitting $100k.
tommyboy0208 not after 4 years and definitely no fucking way is that shit happening at part time. Drivers who have been there 30 or so years MIGHT make that kind of money, and then they will probably have to driver the big trucks not the little brown trucks. I've been there 12 years I know exactly what these guys are making.
Why does everyone think I was yelling at my kid? It was my cat. Can't you tell the difference between meowing and a kid crying?
I've been working at ups for 6 yrs now and I'll tell ya something it's not like how you describe it to be not one bit they don't write you up for not being able to pick up a package over 70lbs by yourself they don't push you to go faster I stack my boxes if I tend to get overwhelmed or get slammed and a supervisor does come out to help when he sees a loader getting slammed but usually it's clear sailing
+lanteri salvatore I don't know where your working cause it's nothing like that here.
+lanteri salvatore bruh wat ups are u working at my people be on some bullshit n im just like u get wat u paid for

Jake G. Dude, I love how you keep it 100% real, thanx for this video!!
UPS has a union. You cannot get fired for not unloading fast enough. The union handbook says “constant and steady pace.” So that’s bullshit to start out. Secondly, I used to be an unloader and unless you’re not trying purposely you can unload 1,200-1,300 an hour no problem.
Jake G then consider working as a hustler
sissy
I learned this lesson the hard way: Never give these slave-drivers more than what is required. They don't give a shit about employees.
If you come in with an sprained ankle on your first month working there and they send you home telling you to be in 100% health by the next day when you're not and you still show up anyhow, don't expect to keep that job for long. That's literately the best thing I can say.
Pretty sure most part timers work there for the benefits. Name another part time job that gets full time benefits

hahahahahahaha you honestly have no idea how hard I am laughing at this video, thank you so much for creating this, it's about time somebody puts up a true video about this job.
How old do you have to be to drive for them???
Ronny Franklin The only reason I quit was because of my back.
unload is the easiest job in the house
Explains why half the trucks I had to unload were packed by idiots.
Bullshit. At least at my location. All depends on loaders. I swear the loaders at one certain hub are trying to kill me by package burial...
unload is easy once you have the endurance. even at my best I was barely doing 950 an hour. now I sweep bulk
linesiderfix simple not easy.
Your conditions matter too, other hubs have ramps and forklifts, we don't and we struggled 2 hrs until we could jerry rig a ramp ready to bust.
He is right I did 3 years there then decided to join the Army, it was so much easier than UPS
You’re awesome! I just quit UPS after 20 years, my husband has 30 years in and we couldn’t agree with you more. Trust us, they did you a favor, that company is getting worse and worse with the way they treat their people.
I was a supervisor at UPS back then, most of the shit he’s saying is completely true lol. However unloading is hella easier than loading
In the hub i worked at, they expected unloaders to move faster. Which hub did you work at? Was it in the bay area? Since you said "hella" lol
Loading sucks ass. I probably would of stayed longer if they put me in unloading
@@darkheathen6765 unloading speed is 1000 an hr

"Last week was my first real week" It's called labor its not always gonna be easy. I started the same way too. 10 years later I'm a driver, I have a couple of nice cars, a roof over my head and able to party on the weekends. It's not always gonna be BS. You should've stuck it out.
Remeber he got fired
it took you 10 years to be a driver? fuck that haha
You seem really pathetic
Wait is worth it true chains
Yes. yes. yes, same man. So true!
***** I recommend UPS to anyone going to school, I've been with the company for 10 years now and I know a lot of people who go to school and work at night, they love it. my advice to you is just be on time and don't miss a lot, work hard during your probation, after that take your time, the job is easy once you get used to it
11 years of this shit. To keep the speed you need there’s no way you can be safe
Worked there 45 years ago at Christmas, while going to school . Four am till eight am , and I see they haven't changed one bit . I work at the San Antonio TX hub as a loader. We don't scan packages, we just straight load. We get one 10min break and that's it. It's brutal.
@@TheTito666 peak season and still 10 mins break!
Damn, man..I hope, you feel better. That all sounds horrible.
i would still consult with a lawyer if you have not already
***** If you're using the 8 keys to lifting and lowering, I guarantee you can't unload 1 package every 3 seconds.
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials yes you can...
+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials It's called optimum carry. Nobody is grabbing one package at a time when loading trucks. Unless it's an ireg. 4-6 packages, sometimes more are being carried onto the truck for loading at a time.
Give it another couple of years! You will hate it then.
Dave Smith probably dosnt work safe
Dave Smith so true
Dammmm that's true I saw one driver like that....
David Vasquez 2o years for me too,, "work as fast as your safety comfortably allows you to"
Yall r pussys man up
Sad that I have been there for 2 years this September and will make close to $100K. I feel sorry for you.
21 years, must not be that bad then.. but are you still loading/unloading?
I'm surprise I made it this far
did you quit?
nah hes trying to quit.. dumbass cant even do that..
Today was my 2nd week. And let me tell u. My trainer was on my ass the whole time, I would put a box down n he would move it, so u know what. I quit that bitch. $10.35 is not enough 4 what they have u doing .

You're assuming everyone wants to be a driver or wants to work for UPS for life.
No matter how hard I worked, couldn't satisfy managers

Oh and let me clarify that UPS will pretty much cut you for no apparent reason whatsoever.
It true. Great place to work if you want to become driver but that's a long time. Become a supervisor and your one step closer at selling your soul.
Still driving?
E Lo! I am! In the last year I’ve gotten my own route. Slammed through 1,070 stops this week and heading straight into peak season! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
U are so right they work u like a horse and plus when u first start they send u home like every other day early bc they are trying to save money.that job is for the birds.sometimes we would be waiting to start working and the supervisor would say we have to send u guys home bc we have to give the work to the ones that have been working for us the longest.so that means u drove 45min to work just to be sent home smh.not a good company to work for
Did you seak out a union steward to get your guarantee?
@Stuart bailey 3.5 for benefits. But be wise they wont pay for leaving early. If you call in and have sick days then yes. Also save your days to carry over for the next year. I use only maybe 3 out of the 9 given per year. And two optional days for bdays.

@@rack_9 cant even put it on your resume though. so really it was a waste of time and effort
to anyone reading this thinking of being a package handler… only do this if you’re ready for an INTENSE workout for about 4 hours straight. no breaks unless the belt stops miraculously for a few seconds. i’ve almost passed out / threw up. i’m a 19 year old college student lol so i should be fit for the job but even football players in the trailers next to me struggle.

UPS is an awful company to work for. I was a contracted employee and they treated me horribly.
I don't understand why people say its a good work out cuz every strength trainer and body builder will tell you not to work the same muscles more than twice a week so in the long run it does more damage than good.
you’re just a sissy
Jake G. i can relate to what you are saying, I just resigned after 3 and a half weeks, as a loader, that job tore my body up legs from all that bending and pivit twisting and my right arm from throwing bags, this was the most unbelievable pain and hurting ever, putting on Ben gay just about every night and taking bare back and body and Excedrin meds and was also all but twice the guys ages loading semy 18 wheel truck trailers up to the very top just as you stated in this video, even the twenty something guys and gals were quitting left and right as new people were coming in every week to replace those that had left, by the way i first worked there back in 1999 as a sorter and only lasted a little over a month only to come back and have someone that's been there for some years, tell me its only gotten worse lol . even a training supervisor was quitting that following Friday while in my second week as a loader, and yes not to mention you for most of the time had to load two semi trucks when caught up help in a 3rd etc etc etc i can go on and on with the twenty something year olds talking about how tired they are, this job is stupid, the pay, quitting etc ,but glad i watched your video for it was spot on dude with every thing you said, peace to ya bro.
Almost everything in this video is what I been going threw this week.
+echarles559 how bad is it really i start next week training
+Toyota 3SGTE its been 6 months, Toyota. Whats ur view on the place? I go for an interview tomorrow.
Lol I’m late but hey I worked hard for a year & now I’m a supervisor. I know exactly what to expect as a unloader. I am where the change comes in at‼️
Damn dude thank god u made this video.
It's not a bad job, you shouldn't have listened to this video.

This more accurate description of the job then any other video 📹, thank you.

Don't do it
I changed my mind about wanting to work there
If you look at the station you should then make your decision. they vary
Trust me.
Because they are corporate simps.
I was straight up told "ups has insurance, don't worry about it. just get all that shit on the belt."
I also felt the soreness explained in the video my first few weeks at ups.
And it's weird cause I've always heard ups is a great place to work. Depends on the different locations I guess.
Sarah Eagle yup
i just strted wrking there 2 weeks ago and it is hard wrk...they promised a 75.00 bonus if u came in everyday and Thursday i got my check and it was not there.i talked to supv and hr no one knows anything...this job sucks and they slave you...Im freaking quitting tonight...this is bullshit...
Lol
I think there's more to it then he's tell us !!! I can see his attitude sucks. That's probably why he got fired.
You do have a real point i never worked at UPS but lots of jobs have this mentality. $10 hourly is week even 4 years ago
They really be like this cuz they really want the labels facing while and be in mind not all labels ain’t going to face it up 10/10 but expect u have the labels face up
