Played and beat veilguard and it’s like dragon age had to go through a modern day HR department. The dialogue is some of the worst offenders. Funny how the original dragon age was inspired by baldurs gate but now Larian has really taken up the gold standard.
That's the thing, it was inspired by the original baldurs gate, but the devs didn't want to make it comparable to one another directly. Both games have their similarities just like all other games on the market, but they're supposed to be vastly different too. They both have their ups and downs and neither are perfect
Bioware has lost the people who made it amazing. I used to spend hours in Neverwinter Nights every day after school. Now it's like seeing a shambling corpse version of itself, with just enough memory of its former self to go through the motions.
Me when I play the only other game I play besides bg3, Elder Scrolls Online 😅😅every time I'm on fire and a healing potion doesn't put me out I get big mad 😤😤
Veilguard was such....well. I waited for 10 yrs for the game to be released but why does it feel bland?. especially if you played bg3 before playing veilguard. The romance was not just it for me.

@@robertdavidson4430Here's the thing. Dragon age veilguard is good, not perfect, but good. Same with BG3. some of these comments really have such a level of FOMO that they need EVERYTHING on a single play through. Rogues should always be the one to open all chest in a game with lockpicking via a talent, like in DA:O. "oh no i have to play multiple playthroughs, waaa"
@@doomslayer5644 BG3 has a lockpick (thieves tool) mechanic. which can be used by anyone, but anyone with high dexterity easily rolls high enough to never worry about failing. So, i disagree that it is FOMO adjacent. Not every character you make, or play as MUST be able to do the thing.
@@ego_peyseyshestvo it's not about the chest being there for multiple playthroughs, if a chest is locked, and you can't lockpick it, move on. But in a game where EVERY chest is just unlocked is somehow better in an RPG? Do rogues even pick locks anymore in Veilguard?
It was SUCH a pain in the ass on Inquisition having to wait to get the damn lock picking ability
Nope, most you just open or fight/solve puzzles that have a barrier in front of it
@@kyleposey2671 it also sucks shit in Origins
I hope not, it was a pain
Who needs a lock pick when you can just use your pent up aggression?
“How’d you open the lock on that ancient chest?”
“Violence.”
Oh don't worry most of my chars in BG3 are monks, they used to smash most doors and chests open😂
I just let Karlach use her ax to break everything, what is breakable
Tbf, you can also just punch chests open in bg3 if you want.
Be sure to disarm trap chest forst or you lose stuff in it
Thats good to know, thanks!
It's got to point in bg3 I'm so sick of lockipicking if I can beat down the door, I will 😂
Me in another multiplayer game: Shit! I can't open this door!
Friend: Look for the key
Me: What's a key?

My first playthrough : Ah, it appears we must picklock this door, therefore I shall use a thieve's tool.

Dialogues and story are also not a thing in Veilgard..
Nor choice, all roads lead to the same ending, even for the most useless character you leave for dead
Disagree. Both are great

Break everything 🥰
Honestly i ended up destroying any chests and doors that i can't pick, so its a non issue 😂
I don't think comparisons are fair. Larian had a lot more leeway from Hasbro than Bioware got from EA.
Its not that Democracy is bad. Its the voting system. The first past the post is what messing in up.
Veilguard was such a disappointment 🫡
Nope. One of the most fun games I ever played!
No sneak attack 😔
Yeah, I mean, to be fair, there are very few meaningful or engaging systems in Valeguard.
Lock picking was annoying in Inquisition. I’m glad they got rid of it in Veilguard.
It's all fun, all games even, until I go back to the old Souls games...
I use a mod that makes my thief's tools unbreakable
However you can break the locks now lol, not all of them, but still a lot of locks you can break.
In veilguard we talk with the lock and use the pronouns Door/Locked, and itll open 😊
no but it's always been such a pain in DA that only rogues could open chests. I'm glad it's not like that in Veilguard

You are in many ways robbed of so many cool game mechanics in Veilguard... like why are my mages forced to specialize in one specific mage style???😊
Since inquisition we were forced to have 1 spec, it is such shame because builds were more fun in origins or DA2 for having you to choose 2 or 3 specs
