  • It seems I am nearing the end of this LED Bulb series since I've pretty much replaced every light in the vehicle. In this video, I'll show you how to replace the backup bulb with LED to give your lights a nice upgrade. My 2020 Lexus RX 350 has just turned 120,000 miles and I also give an update on the projects I'm going to be doing soon.
    Here's a link to the LED Lights I purchased - amzn.to/2YvCjFF

    You should have changed just one of them and then put it on reverse just to check the difference , anyway thank you for the video. I'm gonna upgrade those lights right know.

    Thank you SO much for your videos. I have been a little overwhelmed with a few things that have not been working and you had me in tears this morning knowing I could do some of these repairs on my own- I have ordered a key battery, liftgate struts and clips for the engine cover- thank you!! Any suggestions for how to reach the smaller, red light on the bumper?

    I am planning to change the courtesy or the door lights on my 2021 RX 350L. The current ones are too dim to be even spot puddles near the door or warn other motorists. Just ordered white LEDs, hope they are worth the upgrade! Will see if the back up lights need replacement as in your video if they arent bright

      Cool, I'm surprised to hear a brand new 2021 would have poor lighting, I thought it would have been LED already!

      No, seems they still use the old inventory across Toyota and Lexus in the RLs. Only some of the interior roof lights are LEDs rest are bulbs. Thanks to your videos though, they give simple solutions to car issues we generally notice but don't do anything about.

    Excellent videos!...any on the TPMS dash light in the 2010?

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  Год назад

      I haven't done a video on that, maybe I should. Basically a TPMS that never goes off even after resetting is because the battery in the wheel is bad. Unfortunately you have to replace the whole sensor which is $70ea at Discount Tire. They have a machine that can show you which ones are bad. I'm actually dealing with this right now. :-)

    Great videos! I'm planning on doing the same but do you get any flickering when starting up?

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Not that I'm aware of, but it wouldn't surprise me if lights would flicker when starting the car because the full 12V is not yet powering the lights until he engine is running.

    Have you had any issues with having a high long term fuel trim? I’m looking for possible common causes for this on the same year, make, and model because my short term fuel trim is great, but for some odd reason the long term is high. Cleaning the MAF sensor only improved the short term but not the long term. Got any insights?

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  3 года назад

      What do you mean by fuel trim? Like lower gas mileage?

    • @drewborgholthaus2010
      @drewborgholthaus2010 3 года назад

      @@CarolinaCowboys no, it can affect gas mileage though. Fuel trim is a measure of the air to fuel ratio that’s being ignited to move the piston in the engine. There’s the ideal ratio of 14.7 parts air to 1 part of gas (in terms of grams), but variation from this ideal mixture is represented as a percent variation (I believe). So, you want as close to 0% as possible. The check engine light typically comes on around 25+%. With an OBD2 scanner you can measure this, but what you’re actually measuring is how much the ÉCU has to correct for the wrong proportions of air and fuel. A high percentage means your getting too much air into the mixture (aka the car is running “lean”) and the ECU increases the amount of gas that is being injected from the fuel injectors (n an attempt to “riches” the mixture, hence how it can affect gas mileage). A negative fuel trim percentage is the exact opposite. Short term fuel trim is just what the computer is correcting for in the moment, but long term fuel trim is what the computer has been correcting for, on average, based on the cars previous performance.
      Because my fuel trim is almost reaching +20%, it has me worries. Which could be dirty fuel injector, MAF sensor, O2 sensor, and a million different things. I was just trying to see if you had ever ran across this issue on your car since I have the same one.
      I’m still learning about fuel trim and all this stuff though, so if it sounds like I’m a car buff then know that I’m not. I am aspiring to be though!

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  3 года назад

      That's very interesting! I had not looked at that, but I did recently get an ODB2 scanner so I'll check it out

    • @drewborgholthaus2010
      @drewborgholthaus2010 3 года назад

      @@CarolinaCowboys that’d be great, let me know if you figure anything out. I did just find a video explaining that some generations of the Ford Explorer have a high long term fuel trim due to having a plastic upper intake manifold (it expands and contracts differently than the lower metal intake does, causing a slight vacuum leak). I wonder if this you’d see the same with our RX series since they also have plastic upper intakes.

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  3 года назад

      @@drewborgholthaus2010 I highly doubt the Lexus would have that same issue. I'd probably clean or replace all the fuel injectors first. Have you already done your ignition coils and plugs?

      @@CarolinaCowboys I just replaced my cabin lights with the Auxito. I have an RX350 2015. Alot brighter now. I was skeptical with these cheap LED bulbs. Time will tell. The Sylvania are good but so much more expensive. These don't stays on for that long so I think they should be ok. For the one in the center front. There is a sunglass storage. If you open that to access it, the bulb cover should come off very easy from the inside. Don't even need tool on mine.
