I'm an old school player, last time I played was 2010. I saw some of your videos and I was curious to see Maple again and especially when I found out some of my old friends still play. Two days later I'm a 180 Pathfinder, I still have no idea how to use this class properly, but so much fun, lol.
I haven’t played maplestory in so many years, but I still enjoy these videos a lot. Part of me wants to play again, but I know I’ll end up getting discouraged by MTX and weird power buff systems that I have no idea how to use like link skills and legion. Still, some of my best memories of this game was pulling an all nighter with two of my friends and getting our second job advancements together. I was an assassin, my best friend was a dexless thief, and my other friend was an ice lightning mage. Best time of my life. I came back for a little bit when reboot came out. Thought it was pretty cool but by then, I didn’t know much about the game at all. I played when the meta was doing pqs, then kerning mall until twisted jesters. Never really got past twisted jesters lol.
I felt the same as you but I changed my mindset. Returned to Maple two weeks ago. Havent played since 2007 so it is definitely a lot of stuff to learn but I like that. I am not in a rush I am just enjoying things so I took my time to learn the game and its mechanics. Once you get the hang of it, it feels good and worth it :) Give things time and you will enjoy the game more, you will enjoy any game more by not rushing things. Right now Im lvling all classes to 120 and some are at 170 just for fun and to try everything. While doing this I also get good link skills and legion characters. I also learn things as I go like how to get good gear and such. Game is a lot of fun for me now. 👍
Xander Brink I’m thinking about starting again playing on reboot servers. I still hate MTX, now more than ever actually. I think I’ll enjoy the grind now that I’m stuck at home for the time being.
Dont be scared of that stuff, as someone that has been playing for about a year or so on reboot i still at this point havent put work on legion nor links, i just talk with guildies and lvl up my main character or make another ones for events
I got back to the game like a month ago, and quit it again for the third or forth time because the events and dailies took up too much time to grind. If you have the time, it's fun. But if you have to work or go to school, have fun playing catch up.
I remember being a noob level 30 Ranger when I was young and seeing high level Heroeswith the combo orbs spinning around, I always thought that was so flippin dope-looking
I also main hero, this class is extremely good post 5th job. Hero's mobbing improved to a complete different dimension post 5th job. I believe the enhanced raging blow can have 100% uptime now although i am not there yet. The whole philosophy of this class is " i will be more better every time I grow", playing this class patiently and hero will reward you handsomely. That always my feeling when i play hero. My favarate class since 2006. No flashy skills or complex mechanics, just pure power. Its the best. Have a nice day.

Making one after i reach 4th job with aran for the link skill. Also, remember when it took a long time to kill the monsters at lionheart castle? You had to pq with others just to farm there efficiently... good times.
You quest for items, you lvl other characters for link skills and you farm mesos to upgrade your equipment. It's been a while since I've played but if I had to start from scratch I would lvl a few characters to lvl 120 like demok avenger, Kanna, and such. Then on my main I would get something like a full set of lvl 140 items with at least epic potential. I would try farming mesos by doing bosess like zakum and horn tail, use crusader coins for spell traces and scrolling and use mesos for star force enhancement until you have set good enough to kill some bosses like normal root abyss, pink bean, Hilla, and such with little effort. From that point your next aim would be root abyss items, which will take a while, but this is what Ms is about, Investing tons of time into an objective or spending tons of Cash and getting it easy.

@@Brando216 Oh boy let me tell you dude, back then on maple (at least in th GMS area and maybe some others) there was news of a nexon employer who passed away, but players were reporting seeing their in game character around perion logged in still. But then we all started to hear these crazy stories about players just walking through perion and then she would appear out of no where. Just standing there. When people who saw her tried to click on her, everything was blank. No name, no level, no fame, no class/job. Anything. But shortly after (there are some old videos of sightings of her on youtube) the in game music would start to distort and sound weird or messed up progressively. Then before you know it, you look at the character again and their face starts melting right in front of you in game. Back then it was freaking terrifying seeing those videos as a little kid. The people who supposedly spotted her were logged out after her face started melting, and could never log bag in because they get a weird "infinity ban" message when they attempt. For a LONG time I 100% avoided being anywhere near perion because of how crazy the stories got. There are also players who created a "ritual" summon for her as sacrifice where they would drop a trail of mesos and visit the perion advancement npc area to. Even in this video dude I literally just saw her stand there for a second and got spooked. If nexon ever needed a reference for a real Halloween scare they definitely need to make a tribute to the white lady.
I remember before Big Bang, slash ballast was the only attack from 10-120 then 4th job you get brandish, I was hyped to get it, then it became a 3rd job then I was introduced to intrepid slash, that was life changing 😂
You seem to know your Maple. Im a veteran of the game, playing since it opened and for about 8 years after. I quit shortly after beast tamer/mechanic. My main was a bishop, but I also had a high level battle mage, assassin, mechanic. Back in the day, a site called “hidden street” was a place to go online for guides etc. my question for you is, is there a highly active information site for maple still? Reddit or is there a better one? I’m also considering playing again, what class would be a good option considering my past classes? I like mages for sure. I prefer to grind solo so what class is a good balance of being able to solo, mob, and high damage? Thank you :) hopefully we can connect in game once I start playing again
u could play whatever u want/like. it doesn’t really matter at all about ur previous class, i started to play back after many years and i started in new server with very low link skill(it’s a skill system that gives u some added bonuses state from previous char in same server), played adele and i got lv200 in 5 days just by using bare hands and event packages, alone!. so yeah, just play whatever u like. as for information sites, from my experience i also missed out a lot new updates i don’t even know what to do search for guides so i joined guild and ask around when i see something fancy or just google it myself 😬

The exp buff will usually let you know if it can be stacked or not. An example would be a 1.5x exp coupon and a 2x exp coupon. They don’t stack, and the coupon tells you itself. But you can stack an Extreme Gold Potion (from Monster Park) with a 2x exp coupon, along with a MVP buff.

After reached 5th job I found that this class is a lot stronger than the 4th job Very good dmg boost but coming with 2 flaws, small hit box and long cool down

Hero is probably top 5 dmg when it comes 1v1 against a boss. When mobbing he is significantly less powerful.

I just got my hero to 200 last week, despite sword and shield not being optimal for hero's I'm still doing it so my char can be Link from Zelda
1 h axe and shield is the meta for heros right now, what are u talking about lol

The belt, shoulder and ring it rewards are pretty neat items that can boost your damage until you can replace them later on :)

I would recommend to go with the regular server. Being able to trade is very helpful for casual Maplers!
