Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared pictures from his Lakshadweep visit where he interacted with local people, enjoyed the view of the pristine coastline and went snorkelling. "I am still in awe of the stunning beauty of its islands and the incredible warmth of its people," he wrote on X and shared several pictures. Marvelling at Lakshadweep's scenic beauty, PM Modi pitched the archipelago as a must tourist destination for Indians. This was his first trip of 2024 and the beginning of the BJP's 'Mission South' ahead of the elections. The impact of his message was such that travel agencies have reported a surge in inquiries for the islands in the Arabian Sea.
