    Spraying this product I get some small bubbles that don’t pop before drying. I have found that thinning ~5% and laying down thinner coats in a single pass yielded very nice results free of bubbles. The TDS says 3-4.5 wet mils which was far to thick for a coating with this product IMO using my equipment - Apollo HVLp/7700 atomizer gun. Spraying lighter coats of ~1.5 wet mils gave me a very nice finish completely free of any air bubbles and an extremely smooth surface to build on.

    I can personally attest to the quality of this paint. I was using this on a custom wall unit using a Graco airless sprayer. Thr dry time ans handling is amazing. Within 15 min I was able to touch and move my projects around with no tackiness or fingerprints shown. This was a true game changer and huge time saver for me.

  • @brybrycrivello

    I have used it out of a Graco sprayer. It has an excellent finish. I used it on a few cabinet projects. Seems very strong. I just used it in my window trim and base moldings (also sprayed). I can see maybe having issues trying to roll and brush a ton of it. It dries very quick.

    Used Command on all (so much) wood trim, breakfront, box beam ceilings, and staircase in a 1910 craftsman residence. Brilliant stuff. Paint was sprayed, second coat went down 30 minutes after the first. Was rock hard by the next morning.

    Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. I'm hearing that it's a lot like Advance without the insane 14-16 hour dry times. Also thin enough to spray via HVLP vs. requiring airless. Need to get my hands on it for an in person test.

    • @nicholash8021
      @nicholash8021 3 года назад +2

      I recently discovered that HVLP can mean the old-standard gravity-fed automotive style of gun that you connect to an air compressor, or the wagner-like handheld devices that appear to have a built-in pump and use suction-feed. I am not sure of the difference between the two in terms of air--whether the latter is a built-in air compressor or uses airless tech. As a former auto painter, I personally have experience only with automotive use of "HVLP" gravity fed, which is by the way, 10 times easier to setup and cleanup than an airless system which I recently found to be a nightmare and almost want to return it and find something I can spray cabinets with the old-fashioned HVLP way.

    Command's adhesion is spectacular. It's coverage....not so much. Contrary to another comment on here, it dries super hard. It's ideal for cabinets. That said, I suspect it will deliver an optimal finish when sprayed. It simply dries to quickly to self-level, like Advance does. It's a game-changer in many ways.

    Great vid I have completed many kitchens with command, it doesn’t like heat. I had a 100% failure on a kitchen the dried too quick but was an easy fix as it sands great. When sprayed I find drying time same as scuff x when rolled it drys quicker. It bubbles a little and also leaves dimples if put on too heavy but otherwise a great product similar to Ml Campbell.

      Spray will get you best finish because of how fast it dries. It is really designed for pro use and thus spray will yield the best results. It’s not homeowner friendly to apply with brush. Rollers can yield decent results with a short nap meant for smooth finish - 1/4” or less in my experience.

      I had only until now used this for trim paint and I caulked the sh*t out of it and never had a problem whatsoever. Just my 2 cents but I don't know what you are talking about.

    This paint not good. Bad paint. Has a lot of dots like sand. Lost a lot of money and time now i have to re paint. Before you spray check your cans make sure you have no dots like sand.

      Hi there Bim. Dots? Could that be residue in your sprayer?

      I had the same experience : many tiny bubbles, and similar with rolling

      Y'all need to sand in between coats if you're seeing bubbles. Stir that paint really well.

      Lighter coats thinned might help you. I recently tested (thinned 6% by weight) with my Apollo HVLP and if applied to heavy I got bubbles (very small) that didn’t pop before drying. When I did a lighter pass it dried super smooth. So give it a shot on some test pieces and learn what works best. The paint is phenomenal when you get it applied properly with your equipment.
