Wishing you a swift recovery. I also fractured my left femur the morning I checked in for a total hip replacement, in the preadmit clinic. 6 mos later I had my right hip replaced as well. I did great so do not feel overwhelmed, you will too.
I know exactly what you are going through. I had almost exactly the same break, although mine never did heal properly. Has a hip replacement 5 years ago, and feel like a new man. Hopefully you heal up quick. Cheers from Blenheim.
