🌱My favorite thing about being a plant nerd is how much I have learned and improved over the last year. I also really love trying new things like substrates and fertilizers.
🌱I'm a visual artist, so I enjoy building soothing jungle around me, using my installation making skills. This was my celebration today, with a glass of wine.
🌱I love walking in my local woods and being outside so having houseplants all around me gives me that serenity I seek in nature
🌱my favorite thing about plant care is how dynamic it is. each species and genus can be so different. and since they’re always growing, the needs of a specific plant will change or require upkeep. maybe ny most favorite part is being able to see results from my work! i love these lil guys
🌱Growing plants has always been my zen space. From childhood in the Caribbean to adulthood in the US, I have grown tropical plants. The number of plants I owned increased significantly in 2017 following the deaths of my mother and husband within 4 months of each other. Wishing you a happy and productive new year.
🌱 My favorite thing about owning plants is having greenery & nature in my home... I recently started traveling a lot for work and it has been a nice release to come home and see all the life and warmth. Just so very relaxing even when much of my life is chaos! 😂
🌱 Caring for plants allows me to slow my mind, gives me joy with new growth, and brings life to my living space.
🌱 When I first moved away from home, aged 18ys, I felt quite homesick. I went grocery shopping and noticed a small plant. Then, everytime I went grocery shopping, I would pick up a new plant. They give me purpose. Now, many years later, I still turn to my plants to keep me mentally balanced. No matter what happens in my day, my plants are steadfast.
🌱 my favorite thing about owning and caring for plants is the joy I get when they thrive even when some don't 😅
🌱 I have been challenged by growing plants through the years. I have done well for some time and then frustrated with losing plants and wallowing in the failure. I have overcome and now I am thriving WITH my plant babies. I am so proud of myself for overcoming obstacles and challenges. I owe my success to the beautiful creators on RUclips given their genuine experience and sharing their journey. Through this I have learned so much and I am so very grateful.
🌱 As a parent of my children and they become adults I feel lost. I have put my heart into my plants and animals.

🌱I love plant care because I can focus just on the plant in front of me and what it needs. It quiets my too busy mind.
🌱 I enjoy caring for plants because it helps ground me! The tactile feeling of touching soil and having to slow down and notice small details help me stay present.
🌱I could truly go ON about what I love about plants; connecting with nature, the wide variety of plants (I mean it's literally global!), watching something grow, helping something living get better and gain health, the history of people loving plants (Victorian terrariums anyone?!), and how intrinsic to my being it is to care for green things as SO many others in my family have!

🌱mindfulness - I can spend hours just looking at leaves, checking roots in my prop jars, noticing patterns and textures... I find that living with houseplants has helped me appreciate the outdoors more too and has been hugely beneficial to protecting my calm and peace in the last couple of years.
