This is good! I feel guilt when I purge, but my official stand is no guilt over plants. If it were lettuce, I'd be eating it. Well done, you come before the hobby. After all, it's for our personal pleasure!
Hi Amy. What a great video, it’s come at just the right time for me. I’ve started culling by throwing out plants which have struggled and constantly have mealy bugs, scale and anything that will bring a plant down. I don’t need the stress of trying to keep them alive. Next will be combining doubles, then thinking hard about whether I need certain plants, etc. I have a problem of feeling guilty about buying new plants but when my husband said the other day he was going to buy some beer & wine (which I don’t drink) I thought “what the heck am I worrying about”. It’s ok if I want to spend money on something that gives me pleasure just for a change. It feels go to get all that off my chest. Thank you Amy for voicing what a lot of us wanted to hear.
Oof when you said about your begonia not being able to cope with being dry for a period of 5 seconds…I felt that. My tamaya felt that 😂😂😂 she still brings me joy so she will stay for now, but thank you for this, you’re right, our collections are ours, we can do what we want with them! This is a hobby and we have to enjoy it 😊
I feel you on the Monstera Peru!! Mine did the same thing with the runners, started yellowing and losing leaves.. it's just nothing more than a headache at this point 😢
Thank you for this. Sometimes we just need someone to say it is okay to let plants, that we no longer love or we have come to dislike something about them, go. I personally have come to understand I hate the growth pattern of the philodendron royal series. Nothing I have done has made the plants be anything other than ugly to me.
Good for you! Do what makes YOU happy! Ive not owned the Peru for the same reason as you, just wasnt drawn to it. My fuzzy petiole had to go as well and would not purchase again.
👏🏼✨☀️ thank you, Amy for the validation and words of wisdom On Letting Go✨ "SHE GONE" truly is a way of life ✨ bless ☀️

Don't worry, the plant bubble has burst for many post covid. Too many plants takes the joy from the hobby...
The music Amy. Sorry but I just don't like it. I would honestly prefer no music. I personally find it too distracting. Sorry.
