This is the first part of a series where we go through, organize, and lightly analyze the plot and lore to the renowned indie game, Faith: The Unholy Trinity.
Despite the first chapter being relatively short there is still quite a bit of story to tell and foundation to lay down. I wanted to upload the first Chapter now, but it will take me some time before completing the next chapter. I just wanted to get this out now, because of how awesome your guys' responses were to the Cruelty of Skinamarink video.

Genuinely love coming back to this after starting from the Who's Lila video and just hearing a repeated string of `keep this in mind`, which now feels like the local mantra. A+
I feel like the mom asking her friend who "looks like she could be from there" about the doll could just be a product of this game taking place in 1987 tbh

im so happy that Wendigoon shouted you out in his video about Faith and told people to check out your analysis about a deeper investigation into the endings! And from his interview with Airdorf, so much of what you said was basically confirmed, so oh my gosh, that must have been great if you watched the Airdorf interview WEndi got to do :)
I kinda love how in the footage presented, the voice line that triggered upon Michael being shot was his "Que te jodan mil cabras!" one, which means his final words in the version you presented are "May a thousand goats fuck you!" in Spanish. That's one hell of a line to go out on after being filled with buckshot before being run over by a trailer truck.

16:04 "Father Ward carries his cross and, like Simon of Cyrene, we are there to help him bear it."
This line is so, so good: perfectly fits the theme of the story and we as the player are literally "helping" Fr Ward achieve his goals through game play. It was clever, but not so clever as to trip up a listener -- I understood your meaning, thought, 'Oh, that's good,' and went through the rest of your video, but was compelled to find this quote and share my appreciation of it.
This entire video essay was excellent and you did a great job mentioning little details and red herrings without getting bogged down. Looking forward to watching your videos on episodes two and three -- I'm curious about your take on the twins.
I'm glad that I'm able to find a channel that *actually explains* what the story is all about step by step instead of just reading a summary and doesn't bring any new info to the table like the majority of X explained videos I've seen so far. Thank you for your content and keep up the great work!
I never noticed the whispery effect at the end of amy's line at 18:11. The real-sounding hiss of the word "priest" adds to the eerieness of the robotic voice

As a Pagan, I truly appreciate the respect you have with beliefs systems in general, and the research you put in if you don't already know about it. It's really easy for other video essays to disregard or even mock them, so it's kind of refreshing to see how you treat it!

I'm all in for your humor and thoughtful insight. No pretense, I really dig it. You could wax poetic on any topic on a stream and I'd be fully engaged and interested; hook line and sinker. Super happy to have found someone who has such an open personality. I know there's lots of comparison to cool creators like Wendigoon and I'd agree because of how wonderfully rare it is to find an essayist/creator who feels like an engaging buddy or tutor that's going over theory with you, not _at_ you. We all feel kinda giddy like seeing a gd double mf rainbow. Lol

I LOVE the lore analysis in this video, the way you present in all of your videos is so charming. It’s equally analytical and lighthearted, but you also temper it with moments of serious respect and introspection when needed.
And then, hitting me out of nowhere with that Chris Hansen around 29 minutes, I BURST out laughing. I was caught totally off guard. Made an 11/10 video a 12/10 just for that!!
Dude you are *extremely* good at these video essays. Intelligent, insightful, humorous, and imho the whole intro is already perfect. I don't get how you can do this so well but you're like some cool professor explaining stuff they like and it rubs off on their students lol. Keep it up! You certainly have a hell of a gift for this.

I love this channel it scratches the itch In my brain that craves having something random explained to me like it's a class presentation that doesn't have to do with the actual assignment but the teacher doesn't care enough to stop it 😊 ( I mean this in a positive way)

I find this game so interesting since it's based in the state I live in, and honestly as simplistic as the graphics are, it perfectly encapsulates just how eerie this woodsy lil state can be at night. Definitely thankful to finally find a breakdown of the story 🙌

Honestly I love your deep dives. I've always imagined this game having more than meets the eye just by some of the style choices made and I'm glad you made the effort to put everything in one place so more people can enjoy the story.

This was a great collection of knowledge of the story in chapter 1 you are going to carry this games community on the lore end of it this really helped me get an overview of the story as a whole since a lot of RUclipsrs only barely explore the notes in playthroughs

The way the information in these videos is presented is just so good and digestible. You make sure everything flows from one thing to the next without ever making the viewer feel lost, that is very difficult to do and you make it seem easy. You're def gonna blow up soon
I tried watching once before, as I was genuinely curious about the Faith series, but I clicked away before you began telling the lore, as it seemed as though it wouldn't be a good quality explaination and exploration. I was very very wrong and am so glad I came back to watch. Going to binge the other two episodes today, and I love the style of this video and analysis. The "in mind" repetition had me laughing more than it should have and your exploration style is unique and very much enjoyable. Keep up the great work man!!!

gotta say, I love your style, presentation and actually getting some interesting religious facts that's easily missed or completely unknown for people like me who am very secular, this is such an interesting watch. Like I've already seen a few other story recap and analysis videos of these games, but they're usually pretty surface level and this is fantastic.

Thanks for doing this man, seeing someone else go full on lore epileptic trees (without the stupid clickbait sensationalism) sure made me feel less alone + it was a nightmare to keep my notes straight with how scattered and retconned and tweaked the plot is. Still not as much of a nightmare as Resident Evil, but it's close

I also liked how you gave us the rundown on how you put these together, your methodology. Very "Scientific", the best form of essay, helps keep our info clear.
I love how you used the whiteboard to keep everything in order, makes it way easier to pick out important pieces and make references to keep it all concise.

26:50 That's an interesting interpretation, I had figured he "Lost" his ordained status after his failure, and following extreme panic as he ran away, and had gotten married in that period as well since he was no longer a priest. (Although I chalk John being married up to Airdorf being Lutheran, in which a pastor can get married, unlike Catholics, and is thus a mistake)

One thing about the whole "fake priest" thing: I do agree that the Vatican lied about that, especially because John says in the beginning that The Vatican did not approve of his actions previously.

I absolutely adore the way you film these videos. You're a very funny guy to watch, and very informative.
I think my favorite part of this video is the fact you tell the story the way a player would experience it; its not a complete storyline immediately, and leaves me (and the audience) with the same questions you'll answer later. This ultimatley gives an excellent payoff to viewers since they have the time to stew on it, and not have that answer immediately revealed.
