I think he was dragged to hell, in other words, killed. He was a normal human being just like you and me (aside from likely being a demon born as a human) but failed his mission hence why was sent to hell by the demon possessing Amy.

While this can happen (and actually did to me on one of my attempts) it's really not a big deal. Playing optimally, you only spend one or two minutes in the forest, and very little of that is on the edge of the screen where you can be hit by that. Even in the rare event that it does occur, it's a quick reset since it's at the start of the run, as opposed to some of the more difficult fights in chapters 2/3.

I can't believe I got the achievement on my first attempt of marathon mode. I died so many times to the super cultists and Gary/Malphas fight on my first regular playthough that I thought it would have been impossible. But having faith has made me a Good Christian Boy!

This game is adorable with its little Text-to-Speech demons and priests, but doesn't look like I have much fun playin it. Thanks for putting this video out so I can live vicariously through some one with the patience to deal with how slow the good Father moves.
Honestly, for the cross colour thing, I think that it is the other way round. In the first chapter, the cross is gold, a malleable and unwieldy substance, second, silver, a lighter and more easily corroded substance, the third, bronze, the first weaponised alloy, prized for strength, lightness and resistance. Finally, it goes back to gold to show that John can bear the weight of his faith

Ayyy, congrats on getting the achievement. Tbh, I have absolutely no clue what option it unlocks. I was really expecting it to be the option to turn the demons off that's just kind of sitting there unused in the options menu, but nope.

got 29 achievements and im terrified of this one. i think i can manage everything pretty well except for gary. i did tiffanny first try and the rest of the fights are alright. but holy shit fuck gary, but fuck malphas specially. those arrows are so annoying.
Oh yeah, the gary fight can definitely be very annoying. There's just so many factors that can end the run there. I'm really glad that for this run the stars just happened to align, and Gary mostly just did his side-to-side sweep attack instead of the homing one. Made it infinitely more manageable.
@@Yuki_Everglow yeah lmao the side to side one is even easier that his just normal walking pattern once u figure out that the upper and lower borders are a complete safe space. i tried the achievement twice today but father garcia decided to be a fucking idiot and run face first into an enemy on the final ch2 fight BOTH TIMES
@@djiog2771 I believe Father Garcia can die from one attack only, when the boss blinks and then rushes him. To avoid that you have to "cross" the boss as he blinks and the sound will follow, acknowledging that the attack is cancelled. The hard thing is that he may do other attacks from the blinking state, but he always makes this move for the first time right before the pentagram attack.
