Alvin: the least pretentious, most real fly tyer ever. I love your flies because they aren't made to catch likes on Instagram they are made to catch fish. I'd rather be practical than fancy. Keep it up amigo.
Thanks for showing the thread break. I’m teaching my son who is now six to tie. Last night he got frustrated after breaking three times. Showing him it happens to the best of them helped his confidence immensely.
I like this fly! Your flies are my favorites. Especially the Popper and the Snake. (Also Bens bass Slider from Huge). I’ve caught some great fall largemouths lately on them. I like using the tan/brown back of buck tails also, it matches the bottom of lots of the rivers around here in central Tx. Thanks a lot Alvin. 👍👍 Hope you have a great Thanksgiving week. 🦃 🎣
I think you could just use brown thread or yarn too. I have some great yarn that is brown with black flecks that I think will work awesome. These look like fish catching machines.
Nicely done, especially for us "non-tying" tiers. I think I could actually pull this one off and even make it look decent. BTW, I saw what you did there. Hit that 👎🏾👎🏾 2x! LMAO! 🤣🤣🤣 Hope to fish with you this year. Stay safe, be well.
I have caught a lot of redfish on this one lately.

Thank you Steve!

I used to get frustrated as well. Thought about taking that bit out, but I figured it would help someone. Glad it did 😊
I nick the hook point too often, even after tying thousands, and do what Alvin did, wrap a new attachment quickly over my break and keep on going.
One of the best all time bonefish flys ever , RIP Jim :-)
Alvin’s got the best intro to his videos! Great fly, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed, that intro took me a while.
I like the subdued colors!
The redfish do too!
Love this one Alvin! Also your enthusiasm and style is infectious. Thanks for all of your great content.
Thanks for watching!
Tied this yesterday, works for bass too!
OK now I have to give it a try!
Thanks for a great pattern Alvin! I always enjoy a tying video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for sharing I really appreciate the simplicity of it.
My pleasure!
Good stuff. Thanks for everything Alvin, especially the inspiration. Been slayin LBJ bass thanks to you and Flip and Lefty.
Thanks for the tie! Might vary that up with dumbbell eyes for redfish in the marsh.
Yes sir, I usually tie a few heavier ones as well.
Cool tutorial
Thanks!

Thanks Charlie!
Good one.
Thanks for the visit
nice.. i need to try make one.... how it swim when its on the water ? the hook facing up or down?
Hook up. Good luck!
Thanks great job
Thanks for watching!
Do those little bead chain eyes help the hook point face upwards?
Yes they do. The wing helps as well.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing cool thanks! I was concerned that bead chain eyes wouldn’t be heavy enough to get it hook point up.
Audio perfect.
Not sure what is going on on the other channel. Using all the same gear?
Superb tie, excellent fly. I may use small diameter chenille instead of dubbing.
I didn't have any, but I tie them that way as well.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing cool. Great tying videos, I appreciate your instruction and coaching

For the body I mean.
What kind of vise is that you use
It's a 20 year old Abel.
Looks shrimpy so I'm sure it would work well for lots of different species. I'll have to add this to the box.
I'll put money on it!
does it have to be pink or can it be a chartreuse color?
You can try any color you like.

Ha ha, I heard someone else use that hit it twice joke a while ago.
