1. [ Turn on the navigator ] 2. [ Make a grid for complex shapes, then pick tangent points, click Shift to move along axis ] [ Alt+C to manipulate anchor points, click the Pen tool to return to drawing ] 3. [ Esc in Type tool to return to the Selection tool ] 4. [ Shift click in Eye dropeer to select a single color from a gradient ] [ Hold and click outside of the program to select color] 5. [ Alt+Shift+Drag a shape to perfectly align in the center ]
oh man - that esc key shortcut while doing text ! Thank you ! That has been driving me mad. So many V popping into my text fields. Guides on shapes with the pen tool too - seems obvious when you see it - but only when you see it. Brilliant. Thank you!
I _literally_ had that "eyedropper-selects-gradient-when-I-wanted-specific-colour-within-gradient" problem a half-hour before I watched this. Now I know what to do. Thanks, boss!
somehow still up at 6:30 am and there’s barely any comments, just wanted to say i love ur channel and sometimes it’s what gets me making art :) keep it up!
Man, I absolutely adore your videos and I always watch em all - however, I honestly think the clickbait-y titles doesn't fit your style at all. It's stress inducing, and makes the experience way more anxiogenic than it has to be. I hope you consider being a bit more transparent and objective in the future. Great video as always, mate.
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the feedback, but I have a lot of backend data on my channel that relate to things such as titles and thumbnails. I make choices based on that 6 year long data. Click-bait though by definition means the title doesn't relate to the video in any way or lies.. My title is true in regard to the video, but I get what you mean. I'll take it into consideration, thanks
This whole channel is click bait with fancy editing to add value. It's fluff. There's a million better places to find actual information and tutorials on YT. Honestly this channel just flat out sucks if you have any experience whatsoever.
Hey Satori, quick tips.. When u r using the pen tool try the [Ctrl] & [Alt] to activate the direct selection & the anchor point tool. Press & release just like the spacebar as a move tool 😎😎 Thanks me later..
Hey man, You've been a great teacher to me and I love your way of explaining. I learned a lot from you. I just have a question, maybe it will look like a bit silly question, but still its a confusion to me. If we go to Objects>Expand Appearance. Then why do we need to Expand it again?
thanks :) Expand appearance will vectorise raster effects such as blurs, shadows etc. Expand by itself changes objects to vector paths; or so this is what I've understood from the 2 operations
You are a genius! Thank you! Just a suggestion, could be interesting to read on screen your actions while you are using the different tools… Thank you!!! Peace ☮️ ✌🏾 ☮️
@@SatoriGraphics Totally understand, and I am ashamed I asked you that. The video is incredible, only since I don't speak native English it's just my requirement, but I understand your language better every time. Thank you!!
A great video tho, helpful tips! Thank youu! The (Hold and click outside of the program to select color) part never worked out for me and i really need that method to use I'm using windows and the problem that its just changes the window and i don't sample the color with the eye dropper I'd be so thankful if you solve that issue for me
Another great video Tom! May I make one unsolicited comment? Stop referring to the tips as "hacks". They're not hacks. You're quite literally educating on how to properly use the tools. Keep up the great work!
@@SatoriGraphics uh ok, I do it this way, I make the backgounds in AI in one document then place these in ID, and place the text and styles there, it is easier to manage jpgs and psd in indesign where there are more than idk 10 pages, Illustrator get funny sometimes with non vector assets.

@@SatoriGraphics I guess it’s just a sad indictment of human nature that we respond to thumbnails with goofy faces 😂
@@SatoriGraphics do you have any statistics that backup your claim that 90% of designers don’t know this?

@@SatoriGraphics Sure did 🙌
Love ur content brother
Another great one Tom. How do you get your pallets to nest like that?
thanks :)
Nest?
@@SatoriGraphics My apologies Tom, I meant appearance. But I have found the way. Much neater than the way I had them before. Top man sir.
I am the first to comment. This shows how much I love your videos
thanks and YT is saying 2nd though :D

a tricky trickster with his tricky tricks :P

You can add an extension to Chrome that allows you to pick any colour from you screen. Give it a google search 👍
@@SatoriGraphics Thank you!
Hey Satori, in case you ever want some ideas for to make videos please consider to make some about Affinity Designer 🙂

I want to art anything using adobe illustrator. What should I do for it ? Can you please make a video that's advance graphics illustration?
what laptop do you recommend around 1100,- ?
I just like Macbooks.. never have had major issues with them
I never considered using guidelines when making shape.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there any solution for after effects text blur, the test in after effects it's always blurr for me even if I use svg or vector font
Can you tell us the source for your metric of 90%?
The like to dislike ratio for a start
If 90% don't know these, they are not designers.
And larger documents should be done in InDesign. Thats what its meant for.
I think the fisrt document would be easier to do in Indesign
For large print documents yes it is. However I work 5x faster in Ai than Id, so I designed it in Ai and then laid it out in Id after the fact
Wow, the scape key… after 2 decades
Arent it just easier to use indesign for large documents rather than illustrator? I think so atleast, anyway navigator is great in photoshop aswell
Love your work sir. I’m a creative in Nigeria looking for clients. Please help.
My lord.... I saw that first Thumbnail... what was that? a call back to an old thumbnail or what?? haha
I'm sorry Staori, but those were very basic tools and processes.

@@SatoriGraphics I really doubt that. And also, please don't assume what we know or we don't know. People might get offended nowadays.
Right off the top;
I never once thought to use the Navigator tool. For anything. Ever. lol.
Tip 3 is so useful. I'm sickened of doing it over and over.
ikr lol
