The prices are absolutely ridiculous. Even realestate in the hood section of Newark is going for $350k and up.
    Absolutely ridiculous. 🙄

@@alphaomega1351 The low interest rate environment during the COVID era changed everything for markets like Newark. Properties that sold for $80-150K were being flipped for post renovation prices in the low to mid 300K’s. And the demand was there so prices kept climbing.

That is exactly what happened! Now you have to find an off market renovation project to get the best deal. I’m consistently on the hunt for those types of prices and my lending team has renovation mortgage programs. So let me know if this is something that interests you.

It would make sense for the Counties to get the funds for 100k+ County Salaries directly from Trenton instead of usurious Property Taxes
More than 1,000/month for Property Taxes is insane but is considered "normal for New Jersey"
(Essex County is the biggest culprit)

Indeed $1K a month in property taxes is insane for most of the country! One of the primary downsides of the Garden State.

HB-1 ers. Taking all the American good jobs. Come to Middlesex county. Tons of new construction condos townhomes both to rent and buy. Sorry but truth they are in tech and health care fields coming for American jobs. Protect yourself … Protect your job and more importantly your kids and grand kids jobs and future. Im old and have seen this playing out for 30 yrs yes 30 5:37

@wallye8713 Thanks for participating in the community discussion on this episode. This issue quite nuanced. I understand the sentiment of American jobs being taken by foreigners, but there are many layers to consider to understand why. I reflect on my 17 years as a teacher and principal, and I recognize the reality of the shortage of American students who pursue studies in tech, engineering, and advanced medicine. I have 2 younger sisters with advanced degrees in nursing, and they will likely never have to worry about employment opportunities. While the US has a fairly robust market in the nursing field of medicine, more advanced degrees in medicine and tech that have a much higher emphasis on math and science studies are far more scarce among American students. Scarcity in any market, jobs or even real estate, causes shifts in the market place. Another factor that in play is that many American companies favor HB1 employees due to cost factors. They can hire employees on short term contracts, and in many cases through 3rd party agencies without committing to larger salaries and benefits. So it is important when referencing "they" in the conversation on HB1 employment, it does not become an assignment of blame on the foreign worker pursuing an opportunity. We must all consider that there are various groups that fit into the "they" category that contribute to this dynamic in our country.

I’m in pharmaceuticals and looking but I’m priced out not dropping more than $300k for a similar house my cousin bought for 200k just 3 years ago

@@aqdadr There are areas in NJ where you can buy a very nice townhome for less than $300K. It’s just a matter of determining the preferred commute time for your drive to work. Definitely contact me and we can discuss further.
