Borderlands 3 isnt as bad as people want to pretend it is. when we have games like dragon age: the veil guard and other really bad game borderlands 3 is pretty good. i've been playing Bl3 with my girl and the amount of time she laughed at the big succ quest was funny. it may have some cringe but it also has a lot of funny moments if you dont act like borderlands has ever had a great story
@ I’ve always been one to defend bl3 but it 1000% was carried by its gameplay rather than its story I’ve been very vocal about how everyone shits on the story of bl3 when really it’s just a couple of characters that are made badly and the way they handle something was very poor( didn’t want to spoil if you hadn’t played through it yet) but you’re definitely right and it’s something I’ve tried voicing myself it’s just crazy to say that it was carried by its story when it’s like a meme for people to say they want bl2 with bl3 gameplay
As in "everything you did was for story reasons" you went to a new planet because it was needed in the story. Unlike this game, where you go to new places because why not, the vault might be in that direction
@@mloxardthey were the first team to truly crack the vault though. That kinda checks lore wise, they didn't even have Tannis til the last leg after all. Everything they did was a shot in the dark, even with the hints they were given
Wait do they not?!?! That explains a lot if that's the case....either that or my aim is so bad I somehow missed body shots to apply my element proc lmao
I've always been one to not neglect any proficiencies in BL1. When I find a cool gun in a category that I'm not proficient in, I become excited to have found a perfect weapon to grind that weapon type's proficiency with.
I diiiiiid kinda work that out after she was just the last one I tried 🤣 So yeah Ig i was wrong there she has a ability to get out of the crazy crap, IDK why i thought it did something very different
Borderlands is my favorite franchise of all time. I used to watch my mom play when I was like 6, and I beat Boom Bewm and Flynt by myself somehow when I tried it. I'm 19 now.
The proficiency system is basically like having 7 separate xp bars for the gun types alongside the one for your character level. This means if you find a good gun for a weapon type youve been neglecting in the lategame, you can catch up on proficiency levels much faster by fighting lategame enemies. Imagine being a LV1 character and somehow killing a LV50 enemy. Imagine how fast you’d level up from that. Proficiency works the same way
@ yeah the only reason your weapon proficiencies dont keep up with your level is because missions give a ton of XP to ONLY your character level. It definitely takes some work but leveling up your weaker proficiencies isnt as bad as it seems. Id say the only one thats bad to ignore in the early game is Sniper Rifles since that bonus accuracy is crucial for them to work at all
I notice you found an Atlas shield early on. Also, you're spot-on about the setting in BL1. It really nails that "Mad Max meets Trigun" vibe perfectly! Btw, I have the same psychometric profile as Tannis. 🙃 Note: It's worth having both standard-issue BL1 AND BL1 "Enhanced," but if ya gonna go with just one, I recommend the OG. Joltzdude would back me up on that. 3:09 If you ever do an allegiance run in BL1, Mordy can get the most use out of Tediore even though they don't make sniper rifles. S&S would also be a fun allegiance brand for Mordy. He probably has the highest "Synergy" (heh) with Hyperion. He can also get the most use out of Jakobs, but Jakobs allegiance is ultra-hardcore. I'm wearing a Jakobs hat in my YT avatar, but I've never done a Jakobs allegiance in any BL game. 4:11 As Mordy, that tracks just fine. If you need elemental weapons, S&S machine pistols are great for Mordy if you aren't finding any Maliwan Legendaries. Maliwan's Legendaries become available at Lv.25, and S&S has the second best elemental tech, so S&S machine pistols are perfect for the early game. Acid becomes available at Lv.15 (correct me if I'm wrong), which is a tier for Hyperion and Maliwan. Once you have acid and fire weapons, and they're of good enough quality, you can pretty much trample upon the toughest monsters in the Arid Badlands on playthru-1 (which would be big skags like Moe, Marley, alpha skags, and badass fire skags). Note: Oh, and Maliwan revolvers in all elements starting at Lv.15. 5:41 If you're Mordy, you can forego shock weapons as shield-breakers if you have at least one skill point in Trespass. Certain enemies are still weak to shock damage, though, so you don't want to "forego" them entirely. You can "get away with using them less often" is probably what I mean to say. Also, Vladof makes a Legendary machine pistol called the "Vengeance" which bypasses shields just like Mordy's Trespass skill. This glitch was fixed in "Enhanced," but in OG BL1, if you started the game with the Vengeance equipped, then it would pass its effect onto all the weapons you equipped. You could use that glitch to give any character Mordy's Trespass skill, basically. Not sure how many Trespass skill points the Vengeance's effect is equivalent to, though. 6:05 Once you have an Equalizer, you can base your entire loadout on revolvers if you want to. 6:21 Barrel2 is the least accurate barrel type, but it adds a bit more damage than barrel1. It works fine for Mashers. In fact, it looks and feels like a barrel type made with Mashers in mind. Even the iron sights on revolver barrel2 look and feel like they were intended for a Masher. 6:44 The lowest-level Legendaries that can occur naturally are Lv.16, and they're all Dahl because Lv.16 is a tier for Dahl and Pangolin. More typically, your first Legendary will be Lv.19 or Lv.22. Lv.19 is a tier for Torgue, Vladof, and Atlas (also the first tier for Eridian, but Eridian Legendaries don't occur until playthru-2.5 if I recall). Lv.22 is a tier for S&S, Jakobs, Tediore, and Anshin. From what I've observed, the most common Legendaries to occur first are the Tediore Equalizer and the S&S Thanatos, both at Lv.22. As for Legendaries being uncommon, I've found the opposite to be true, at least once you hit Lv.22. Also, some of the more common Legendaries just happen to be some of the most universally useful across all characters. Tediore and Maliwan Legendaries seem to be the most common from what I've observed. They pair well together, especially revolvers, shotguns, and SMGs. 7:02 Two whites in a red chest?! Ripoff! 7:11 Volcano on Mordy a go go! Combine with a Sniper class mod (made by Jakobs or Hyperion) with ammo regen, then you can really have some fun! 8:38 Better to rely on either healing skills (which every character has), Anshin grenades, or the passive healing of either Tediore shields (the Panacea is the best one) or certain types of class mods. That way, you don't have to clutter your inventory up with healing items. 9:22 Ackchyually, to "decimate" means "to reduce by one-tenth." The Roman punishment of the same name was named that way for that reason. Every tenth man out of 100 would be smited to remind everyone else that they were all nothing more than expendable commodities of the state. And Rome was like that even as a "republic!" It's no wonder the world of Borderlands is chock full of Greco-Roman references and motifs. 17:42 Suggestion, eh? Either the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games or an allegiance run in BL1 or BL2. And if you do the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, I recommend trying Zone Sportsmanship Challenges.
Holy thank you, me franticly scribbling down notes from this one haha, also is an allegiance run just only using one manufacture for all slots? sorry a bit confused on that but seems like Joltzdude has a hefty amount of info on his channel so gunna have to study up a bit haha. OHHH the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Games I've heard great things about really need to add those to the list, and yeah i have been thinking about posting all the playthrough footage at least somewhere, 100% will with BL2 but need to see if i deleted all of BL1 haha but an allegiance run does sound fun. Thanks for the Help Friendo!
@@JustAhCrow Any time! And yeah, that's exactly what allegiance runs are. You pick a brand and stick with it. BL2 allegiance runs is what most do, but I think they're also fun to do in BL1. Allegiance runs can be "absolute," casual, or mixed. You can do them solo or co-op. Co-op allegiance can be really interesting, especially if you try to build an "allegiance dream team."
Nothing will replace the summer I spent playing borderlands with the boys. It was such a fresh take for a team focused open map hero based shooter for the time! The gunplay was super responsive for a game with so many guns, and things that modify said guns. By the end it becomes a real numbers game, but in a surprisingly organic way. Those were truly the days. Yet another exceptional video my corvid companion. Rock on!
Seriously such a great game, and clearly loved as it sparked such a long running franchise for Gearbox can't wait to see what they have in store next! 😁
Bro I catch up with Borderlands series recently and just a faw days ago I finished BL1. It was really nice to hear your take on that game! For me it was pretty dull at times, but gameplay was great! I am playing Borderlands 2 currently and this one is a masterpiece! The gameplay and the story are just amazing! I want to play BL3 after 2 obviously, but I think I will stick to the second game for a longer time!
I have heard the second game in the series is far and beyond a masterpiece of a game so very anxious to get there, but yeah there are definitely some dull moments in the first game but the gameplay is still just so good I kinda overlooked them cause I was too busy just trying to survive hahaha
Borderlands 2 is legitimately a perfect game. The only critiques you can give sounds like nitpicking or things that were impossible to change for the time it came out.
GAWD damn thats some heavy praise hahaha. I have heard that though i don't know if I have ever heard a major critique of the game that wasn't like widely disagreed on
First, liked and subbed. This is good shit. Second, my actual comment. I started with this series around 2011, the summer I graduated high school. I found a DRM-free digital version of Borderlands 1 for Xbox 360 on some forum. I'm pretty sure, without exaggeration, I played that game every single day until I got BL2 around when Assault on Dragon Keep came out. Even then, I still went back to BL1, and I do to this day. It is my absolute favorite in the series. It doesn't do EVERYTHING better than its sequels, but the things it does really fucking matter to me. This is the closest I've seen anyone else come to having a lot of the same thoughts as me regarding this game lol. I'm probably gonna end up making my own video about this subject, cuz BOY do I have a lot to say.
ayyyyy thank ya, and hell yeah make a video on it 😁 game is definitely worth talking about. And oh i fully get that, BL1 definitely doesn't do everything 100% nor does BL3, but what Borderlands does well it does REALLY REALLY Well and its still just as amazing of an experience today as I'm sure it was when you were binging it hahaha
Can tell this is the rerelease. Cause in the very original you had to manually pick up all the ammo/money on the ground. Wasn't a crazy thing back in 2009 but if you go back to it from BL2 onward it's almost agonizing
I played this game on Xbox One backwards compatible before three game out. Thanks to your video, I just got it on PC for £2.50 on Steam. I appreciate the nostalgia of Borderlands. Watching videos on Borderlands and Skyrim equally make me want to load them up and play them for hours.
Had to buy it also. It was just too good of a deal. I've already played the life out of BL1 but I'm excited to play BL2 & BL3 in their entirety. I'm waiting for Monster Hunter Wilds to come out, & I feel like this will help take a lot of that time up. My best friend and I played BL1 so much as kids. I hope I can find some friends to play the games with on PC. 😂
I've been playing the borderlands games since its first release on the xbox 360. I absolutely love your commentary and review style. I found this video in my recommended and after watching it I was blown away that this was from a channel with 313 subscribers. I had to leave a comment in hope that the algorithm picks up this video. +1 subscription from me. Hope you do a video on the second game! Happy New Year
🤣 you see i noticed that like as I tried out a few more of the vault hunters and was like oh god Mordeci is all att no defend uh oh 🤣 but thats ok just an excuse to level a new one lol
@@JustAhCrow I just finished my first playthrough with that & the shock trooper character mod, and it felt like I was playing the game again for the first time. Give it a shot! (also, DLC fast travel is awesome)
FINALLY! Thought I was taking crazy pills saying I hate the gunplay in BL3, since they don’t have punch…meaning they don’t have or recoil/screen shake when ADS
See i notice that now after BL1 🤣 its definitely a jump but given how different BL1 and BL3 are I guess it kinda makes sense kinda went from Badlands warlord to Space Super Solider secret agents
@ I think they could have split the difference. BL1&2 SMGs were stupidly convulsing. But man did sniping feel great. BL3 everything feels like a laser gun, and if sniping was even useful the only ones that had any kick were Hyperion….but there were no good endgame Hyperion snipers.
You mentioned the one thing that I miss the most about the original borderlands. The guns felt like GUNS. Even though it was cartoony in graphics, the real feeling guns helps keep the grit and destructive feeling of the game. For me in the feast of the series, bl3 especially, the color ray, splashes of rainbows, and Star Wars sounding blasters really take away from the game.
Yes most definitely, I was stunned how much they really felt like gritty, dirty, bloody guns in the first game. I think the best way to put it for me is, BL1 is a mad max badlands brutal shooter, and BL3 is super secret space agent lol. Two different things both doing their own thing very well
Honestly this is the Borderlands game I tend to run back to quite often myself. I played the series in order and started with this game before even 2 came out. So I'm a true OG of the series tbh. It's simple, to the point on looting and progression always gives me a reason to start over and over again. The mission structure is set up in a way I can do all side quests alongside the main game without a headache like later games. Most find this game redundant by 2 and 3 as they do more complex things on build variety, but idk, I'd rather have a fun ride over grinding for hours on end for stuff that could be pointless. After a playthrough or two, the things you found as challenging really don't become that challenging and just the fact that basically all guns are usable at all points of the game really makes this game special to me. I don't feel like I'm stuck using one set of guns because if I don't, I get destroyed by everything. That's my biggest problem with modern Borderlands. I can't play how I want to, and this game allows me to do just that
Fair fair, yeah i have noticed the longer I run on my first vault hunter the more variety in weapons open up, and if i really have a skew i can farm a bit and get them up to snuff, honestly might be too soon to call but i think im enjoying BL1 on the same level as 3 if not a bit more, its definitely a more rewarding feeling farming out a legendary cause the things feel so damn rare compared to 3 so I see the orange Beam and I'm like YESSSSSS LETS GOOOO. Have yet to get a pearl though and waiting on that glorious moment, why the hell did they get removed in BL3
@@JustAhCrow Every BL game has their strength in different things. 1 just captures the FPS Diablo feeling more than the others for me personally. All things can be easily grinded in this game too. You need proficiency levels, fight eridian guardians at the end of the game. You need legendary weapons, grind out the chests at the end of the Claptrap DLC because you get a loot room you can farm over and over again. Want chances at Pearls, fight Craw or do the Armory farming glitch that they chose to keep in the game. Btw Pearls only drop in the Knox DLC in this game. Believe it's a 1% chance from Knox chests or 5 / 10% from Craw kills. That's one thing they changed in 2. Once in UVHM in 2, every source has a chance to drop Pearls, however Pearls in 1 just feel like they are worth going for unlike 2. Another thing that was axed from later games from 1 is hybrids, aka guns with more than 1 special effect on them. Basically in later games the legendary attribute is stuck to the barrel attachment, however in 1 some are attached to the scope or grip / so on. You can get a legendary or unique weapon that is a combo of the 2. So fun when you get them and they tend to be far more powerful than just a standard one. I'm actually surprised you are enjoying 1 as much, because the common consensus from people who played 2 or 3 first tend to think 1 is obsolete in comparison. If you ever need to tips or tricks / wanna play through the game in co-op, I'm always down to do that too. I could easily give you my steam friend code if interested. I tend to play solo, but this game is leagues better with others
@@it2spooky4me79 Me too honestly. I hope they bring back pearls and effervescent mainly. I'd love to see effervescent far more fleshed out then the few items we saw in the Lilith dlc and make them FARRRR more rare, but powerful then they ended up being
effervescent? Also third on that one would love it if BL3 had that like 1 : 100 weapon drop just to spice it up, the biggest downside I'm finding in BL3 after playing the first is the legendries don't feel special at all now......Stinks and I'm STILL chasing my perfect corrosive light show somehow GAH
please get the handsome Jack collection, goes on sale all the time for $10 and bl2 is by far the best one. The story is great, the farming is grindy but nice, weapons feel great lots of fun, everything good abt the first one but 10x better
Got it for $3 or something like that and 100% worth the money. I'm right there with you with the the game is hard part it is pretty difficult but a fair level of difficult.
7:53 Let me tell you something. I used to do that until I realized something. I have a rocket launcher that kills one shot. So I would go into crowds with a revolver and fire pistol and start blasting. When I die I used the rocket launcher and get up then blast again. AND IT IS SO MUCH FUN. When I play shooter games I want to go in crowds gun blazing without the worry of dying. So when I got my ps5 I bought Borderlands in Summer to give it a shot. And man the adrenaline rush a person can feel going into crowds just killing everyone is incredible. PLUS, I picked Mordechai which he has an ability which regains health rapidly when you get a kill. PLUS, I upgraded to get better criticals AND faster reload when I get a kill. So I go in crowds start blasting and becoming an unkillable beast. And if I die I use the ROCKET LAUNCHER. I have spent 15 hours in the game as of typing this and man I believe the 30 dollars are worth it. Edit: Haven't beaten the last boss yet but I hope I beat it.
Yeah see i think i really overlooked rocket launchers for a while, I also have a really bad habit of going into FFYL behind too much cover so then I'm really boned lmao but oh yes it is quite the rush to just absolutely decimate an arena of enemies 😁
oooof I gotta check that out then, i think i completely blanked on the build in the second run hahaha was struggling alot till i realized I had no synergy
I have played borderlands 2 amborin's 3 and I understand the people do not like borderlands 3, but that is my favorite borlands, because of the gameplay, I want to play borderlands one, but I feel like regressing on gameplay will kill the game. For me. Also nice format keep it like this
I promise it won't its 100% worth the play, just some things to keep in mind is its where it all started and for all intents and purpose it is a different game gameplay wise. If anything, it may make you appreciate the quality-of-life changes made in 3!
Lol and this is the remastered version. The named bosses all drop a purple item. in the original game even if you did all early game side quests you would still be about 1-3lvls lower when you took on sledge
GREAT video man. I love the first time player perspective from someone who played 3 first and seems to enjoy it quite a bit. Keep the vids coming and I hope you plan on doing the same thing for BL2. It’s the goat for a reason!
Also yes BL1 is very difficult lol it was my first FPS I ever played on the Xbox 360 and I thought I was just really trash at the time. I probably was… but still it’s not an easy game. Even all these years later, I still have a hard time with it if I let myself get overwhelmed by enemies
Thanks Friendo! and yeah I wasn't expecting the shift to be so hard but I adore the first game now, arguably more then 3 but too soon to tell. and heck yeah BL2, Pre-Sequel and Wonderlands are all on the list, but they are a bit longer so need some time to give them a fair shot but BL2 I'm stupid excited for!
Also RIGHT?! im by no means a skill lord gamer but god BL1 gave me a hard time at places, the levels, build and gear really mattered more then most games now adays, hell even in BL3, if im not getting the drops i want I just go grab moxxies guns every few levels and storm through the story
@@JustAhCrow you’re right about that. It’s just a different beast man. BL1 is one of the weaker games in the series imo but it will always have a special place in my heart and I still come back to play through it once a year or so. I can’t wait for the new vids but definitely take your time, especially with 2. It’s a huge game with SO much to do. Any ideas which character you’re gonna try first?
I was with Borderlands since day 1 and I have to say that B1 still have place in my hearth. I play B2 all the time and I come back to B1 like once a year to run trough it. It´s very rough around the edges, B1 feels more unforgiving and yet more rewarding. I agree that it makes you stick to certain weapons, it was snipers and smgs for me. But tbh I would say that B1 isn´t worth 30 bucks nowadays, while B2 absolutely is. Tbh I didn´t really liked anything after B2. Played trough B3, Pre-sequel, Wonderlands and I was hyped for every single of those titles, it never got me hyped as B2 did.
Huh interesting I really need to get the Borderlands 2 huh, yeah ig thats fair, what's so strange is the new bundle, i think previously it was only 10$ but with the new bundle for game of the year enhanced + Game of the year for some reason + all dlc they must have jumped it back up to $30, interesting call on their part but 🤷♀️ what can you do. luckly it goes on sale every other minuet hahaha, Also interesting BL3 was a game I loved alot so I wonder if BL2, and the others will pull it lower on my list
i am soo glad he played 1 b4 2 everyone else has this massive bl2 bias because its the one they played first and then they get mad that bl1 IST bl2 rather than being objective.
Yeahhhh that tends to happen alot, I had a bit of a bias going into BL1 originally but after I kinda got it though my head that BL1 isn't BL3 the experience got a lot better and surprising at that
If you really want the true experience of borderlands, I would recommend you play too. It’s one of the best games in the franchise. In my opinion a lot of loot, funny story, good gunplay, and there’s not as scarce of legendary guns to farm 💥🔫
Definitely would, I just gotta figure out how haha, I did see that you can play psycho krieg and I am heavily intrigued, but have been told not a great vault hunter for a first playthrough cause he's a bit more complicated apparently
I'm playing through BL1 right now for the 3rd time and I have to agree that it's probably, while still a great game, the weakest of the three main installments. BL2 had a great story and BL3 has amazing gameplay, but regardless of the game this was a really fun video! I'm subscribing straight away, really digging your style!
Ayyyy appreciate that bud! And im not sure where I rank it yet considering I've only played 3 and 1 so far, but yeah there are things I adore about the gameplay of BL1 as well as things I love about BL3, welp just gotta play them all and see where everything lands hahaha
Bruh that’s not how borderlands works you can have a legendary off the first boss in any game and it’ll get replaced in just like 6 or 7 levels because the scaling of the weapons
Not in borderlands 1, bosses don’t have dedicated legendary drops and weapons last longer. You can use a hellfire for 20 levels and it will still be good.
I truly believe it is I have played borderlands 1 since it came out and still playing today all 4 characters are fun and overpowered in their own specialties I am playing brick for the first time since a kid and am loving it I always 100% pl1 and get 72 and additional skill points so much fun so much replayablity I PLAY ON THE DISC VERSION ON MY XBOX enhanced isn't worth the money especially if your on pc bc you can mod original goty edition is truly worth it!!
I was so shocked just how different and good it felt definitely a great surprise! Also OHHHHHHH that must be why they give you both in the bundle Enhanced is the new refresh but you can mod GOTY.......crap i gotta try some mods now hahaha
Being introduced to this series from 3 and being able to go back to borderlands 1 and having a positive overarching outlook on it is a breathe of fresh air (I didn’t like 3) and I’m a og borderlands fan I played it back in 2010 and still go back to this game constantly, but I hear a lot of stories about people who play borderlands 3 than play 2,tps and 1 and end up thinking they’re ultimately worse 1 being the “worst” which objectively just isn’t true. But I guess people are entitled to their opinion but when you directly compare a game that came out in 2019 (the 4th game at this point) to the very first game that started it all and expect the same Qol improvements and saying that it’s “bad” is just extremely disingenuous and frustrating. Being a fan that’s played since the original each game improved on itself in one way or another. (My gripe) with borderlands 3 is the writing I can not stand 95% of what comes out of the npcs mouth or their actions they take within the story I won’t get into instances otherwise this comment will get way way way longer than it needs to be the secondary thing that I just can’t stand about bl3 is the overall story and how they set things up (look at how they’re pitching borderlands 4 in a way to scrub the way the 3rd game ended and how it progressed), they’re doing that for a reason. Yes I know the story isn’t the “best” thing about the series but having an objectively bad one brings the experience down quite a bit when you look at borderlands 2 and how its story really shaped that entire game and deepened the first games story by A LOT with some of the dialogue that came from it even TPS builds on the first and second game on its own so for me the third game turning around and shitting on all of that really put a bad taste in my mouth. Will I take away from the changes in bl3 that makes it more smooth and how the gunplay is objectively the best in all the games? No but things like sliding smooth gunplay and vaulting is what you should EXPECT from the fourth game in a series tuning things to make them the best they can be gameplay wise with that being said no dedicated drops and the crazy high legendary drop rate (they recently added dedicated drops to bl3 out of the box it wasn’t like that) made borderlands 3 far to easy I like the slight difficulty curve that the first 3 games had 1 in particular it made you actually think about what and how you’re going to do things (like you said) but to finish this comment off before it becomes to much of a rant it’s a breathe of fresh air to not hear you just shitting on 1 because it “feels clunky” or because “legendaries are hard to find” or for even stupid little things like “I can’t slide or vault” (all reasons why I’ve heard this game is “shit”) this game laid the foundation for a series that we all now know and love and it’s nice that you can enjoy this game in its pure form to the hope that borderlands 4 has good writers and the story isn’t as abysmal I just want a good updated gameplay loop that reminds me of borderlands 2 in its heyday. WITH ALL OF THAT BEING SAID great video dude while writing this I realized you only have 93 subs it would be cool to have some of your raw gameplay to watch (as a borderlands 3 beginner trying borderlands 1,2 and TPS). You caught a sub from me I hope you can continue to find some enjoyment and time to make borderlands content it’s some of my favorite to consume on this platform and with that i bid you adieu good luck.
Well put, yeah a lot of times, and I'm guilty of it as well, I'll go back to an earlier iteration of a game. Say Witcher 3 to Wither one and am immediately ready to condemn it because well it's not Witcher 3 and it "feels different" but at the end of the day they are literally different games under the same franchise with minor differences that make the world of difference. Same as in Borderlands I don't think the gameplay is clunky compared to the third, it's definitely Raw and dialed back in terms of, but that's to be expected, sequels breed innovation and quality of play upgrades and seeing where it started vs where it is now was honestly exciting, granted I'm missing the 2nd game so it was quite the jump lol, but hey that's part of the adventure. And yeah only having 3 for a reference for the longest time I didn't fully understand some of the distain towards it I honestly kinda liked Troy and Tyreen being a satirical take on influencers in a post apocalyptic setting but after playing BL1 the overdrawn conversations and massive amounts of back in forth are standing out a bit more so I'm curious to see if the 2nd and pre sequel will change my opinion of the third even more. Also yes finding out that BL4 seems to be taking place away from the established quota and quite a few years after the events of the 3rd leads me to believe they may have deviated more than I'm aware of. 🤷♀️ but all i can do for now is play the remaining games and see what happens haha. Appreciate the comment friend makes me think
@ I’ll be patiently waiting for your is it worth it on the other games as well as the bioshock series I watched that one last night and really enjoyed that one as well! I like the type of video you’re going for a lot it doesn’t seem like many others really do it either
I appreciate that haha, and yes all of the Borderlands games are on the list, just a few ahead of it, but would really really like to be able to play BL4 on release as well but I Gots me some work to do hahaha 😁😁
BL1 is quickly becoming a favorite now between 3 and 1, starting BL2 this week and with only 5 hours in.......yeahhhhh im gunna like it alot holy crap haha
Haha yeahhhhh but I'm weird but paying the full list price helps me be a bit more when I'm going through the notes and junk. I'm also weird, so there's that 🤣
I prefer B1 to B2. TPS is just fun, probably the most fun I had of all 4 games. Also, B2 'end-game' can sure be harder than this. Maybe you should try it. lel.
Eh fair enough not it might not be for everyone hahaha, actually one of my friends says he won't play it cause of the cell shaded art, so 🤷♀️ to each their own
Most likely, what's weird is it use to be 9.99 for just the GOTY and DLC but ever since they added the re - remaster it jumped back to 30 so yeah thats a bit of a hit. eh its on sale every other month or it's in all the bundles haha so yeah better ways to get it for less
I think BL 1 has a bit more content overall compared to bl 2 with the DLCs included. Even the base game for BL 1 has more stuff with side quests than BL 2. Its more linear like though but it makes the gameplay a bit more relaxing compared to the pre sequel where enemies spawn everywhere like crazy. On steam its for like 5.99 right now I think or some very low balling price. If you havent played BL 1 I recommend you it.
Really? Thats interesting I heard the opposite BL1 to BL2 wise but ig i need to give it a shot myself haha. and oh yeah its currently 2.99 for the bundle witch is NUTZ. Im guessing since Bl4 got its trailer they want everyone to see the other games first.....DONT MIIND ME JUST BUYING EVERYTHING QUICKLY lol
By my count literally every month or 2 🤣....but for some reason they removed the Game of the Year and DLC stand alone edition now the new bundle has the game of the year & GOTY enhanced + All DLC for $29.99 not sure why we need 2 copies of the same game but 🤷♀️ I think the stand alone one use to be 10$ normally
Uh I got B1, B2, TPS, and B3 and ALL the DLC for less than 30$ on Steam. 90% off for the bundle Short answer; Hell no Long answer: Hell no but you didn't time the deals right bro You were also playing as Morde bro...he's the sniper rifle and revolver guy..it's not just a profiency choice for him; he literally skill specs into sniping and gunslinging. In truth you only really needed explosive dmg...EXPLOSIONS?!?! Agreed B3 spoils legendaries but Tiny Tina's seems to have loot drops a little more balanced and I hope Wonderlands was a test bed for certain features to be added to B4. I like having melee weapons, armor mods, accessories..these don't fit thematically in with Borderlands but more gear = more loot = more fun... and they also separated cosmetics from typical rarities in Wonderlands which is definitely good but needs refinement. It is harder than the others but lest ye forget; no sliding, no butt slamming, no vaulting, and you are stuck stationary in FFYL and all those are just kinda features no one would ever want to go back to. 8:00 Siren Phasewalk :P Sidenote I leave on every Borderlands comment I make in case devs are rummaging through comments like I know they're not: Eschaton Row is single-handedly the best map in the entire franchise; we need more of these. PS: POE skill trees are combined with a stat tree to make it look bigger than it actually is; ITS A SHAM
So I suppose I should have clarified hahah I intentionally try to buy them at their list price when I can as a weird self-experiment, I figure If I spend the full amount, I can get a more genuine judge of the game. Don't be like me I'm weird, would rather people save their money🤣 and fair I think I noticed that with mordci the more I played him he really has a lot of synergy with those types. See Tinas Wonderland I am very curious about as from what I heard it's the one that did a ton of stuff right but also kinda missed in alot of other areas so thats one Im interested in getting too BUT POE IS STILL SCARY 😭
Love this vid, borderlands 2 was my entry point and honestly I feel it's the best in the series. I wasn't a massive fan of BL3 due to the story/writing, setting, weapon feel, overcomplicated designs and legendary abundance. I highly highly recommended playing BL2 and it's DLCs.
Oh I 100% will be haha very excited for it. and yeah I'm getting that a lot about BL3, meanwhile i rather enjoyed it as it was my only frame of reference but maybe that's going to change.....It is a bit already after BL1 the constant back and forth and extended to hell dialogue sections are starting to stick out more
@JustAhCrow yeah I get that, don't get my wrong BL2 is my favourite game and maybe I'm bias, I still love the borderlands franchise and think 3 is a good game but Id love to see a video from yourself in regards to BL2 if you do play it. I reccomend Salvador the gunzerker as a vault hunter for it but if you watch the trailer you should pick just whichever you like the most. I hope you have a brilliant time playing it 😁✌️
Oh don't worry it'll be here soon haha, i got a few more in a few states of completion, plus would like to give BL2 a solid 50ish hours so i can get a firm feel of it but its defiantly close on the list of up next
Yeah it's definitely worth it. I don't think modern games devalue much over time but $30 is good. The gsme did an amazing job of world building and I wouldn't feel the way i do about the franchise if BL2 started it all. Im in the minority here but the shooting and grounded realism of the guns was more fun to play through than the glowy death balls of BL2. Obviously, BL3 fixed the gunplay deficiencies of both but I remember the synergies of the BL vault hunters just making sense whereas not so much in BL2. And yes.. Tannis is the best character in all of Borderlands. I NEVER get tired of Tannis chiming in. She never wears out her welcome unlike Tiny Tina or Mr Torgue. Even Scooter became too much over time. Ellie is awful all the time and really all of the side characters in BL3 are annoying except Tannis. Next to Jack, she's the most well written character in the franchise and we got to know her in the first game through those hilarious and sad tapes. She's had an epic video game character arc.
I've actually heard really good things about the pre sequel, still trying to decide if I should play that next or just go to BL2 first then do the Pre-Sequal and Tinas wonderlands after that
FOR REAL I found a level 30 Badass Psycho when I was like level 24-25 roughly and beat me stupid, I xp farmed just so I could go back and get my vengeance 🤣
It is indeed 🤣 and I intentionally try my best to pay list price since I think it keeps me more level and I'm less likely to let the little stuff slide because it was cheep. Don't be me I'm just strange hahaha
Bruh that’s not how borderlands works you can have a legendary off the first boss in any game and it’ll get replaced in just like 6 or 7 levels because the scaling of the weapons also just saying not to be an asshole or anything but bl1 is not hard at all like I’ve never considered myself to be a good gamer just a very casual gamer and I just beat the first borderlands for the first time since like 2010-12 somewhere around there and it took me a couple days of playing for a few hours after work and I never died I went down a handful of times but I never actually died edit because I unpause and he said something about having to carry around meds with you because they don’t drop as often as they do in other ones but I literally never bought any heals other than a couple of instant health a couple times but I never carried any around with me I actually for got that was a thing in this one and when I saw it I was like yea I’m never gonna buy those also I never had to grind to level myself up for the story quests I don’t know why people would have to I was on level for my story quests the entire time I didn’t even start doing side quests until the 2nd play through
@ They made it so the “Awesome” level is higher in a lot of locations throughout the game. And higher class enemies like badasses and bosses actually drop good loot. Just for context, on the OG borderlands the destroyer would very very rarely drop a blue item and there wasn’t any red chests for you either.
I haven’t watched the video yet but just saying you can buy every borderlands video game content I’m talking all the games and all the dlcs even all the tales chapters for just $37 so if you didn’t buy just borderlands for $30 then you got scammed
To be fair it's on sale for 10 bucks every other month lmao. Actually 2.99 last time I checked. What's weird is the new bundle it's GOTY plus GOTY enhanced plus all dlc for 30 I think the GOTY stand alone was like 10 bucks when it was available
I paid $10 for the handsome collection disc from GameStop and was digitally ordered and purchased the the rest of all the games and tales from the boarderlands for only $5.99. Was a prompt when I first loaded disc for the first time. This was 3 months ago.
Thank ya friendo! also most definitely planning to do Borderlands 2 and Pre Sequel sometime soon maybe a few in-between so i don't burn out on the gameplay style too much but excited as Heck! 🤩 should I go with BL2 first or the Pre-Sequel?
Honestly rather enjoyed Troy and Tyreen as like a satirical take on post-apocalyptic influencers, yeah some jokes were a bit on the nose and a tad bit cringe but hey was fun knocking their heads around towards the end hahaha. Though I have been told BL2's main antagonist is the king of all so that's going to be interesting
The first 15 seconds is the best hook for a video I've seen in ages
Ayyyyy thank ya hahaha

WELL LESSON LEARNED ON THAT ONE 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 holy crap if anything 3 is starting to feel alien not the other way around
There’s no way he just said that bl3 was carried by the story it’s literally wildly regarded as the worst story and best gameplay
Everything they did was a shot in the dark, even with the hints they were given
Bruh no judgement in tannis being a favorite character she is absolutely amazing
hahaha yeah maybe its just how she is in the third game sometimes, shes a riot in BL1
I played BL2 before 1, then 3. Tannis has always been the goat.
Played all the borderlands games, but bl1 holds a place in my heart, come back to it at least once a year
It really is a special game isn't it
A collectathon
Literally just started this years play through yesterday
It dont got the best story, nor gameplay, but the ruggedness and more down to earth weapons have their charm
I forgot the snipers don't work properly in this game... considering I went for a sniper build in this game lol
Wait do they not?!?! That explains a lot if that's the case....either that or my aim is so bad I somehow missed body shots to apply my element proc lmao
@@JustAhCrow they have a accuracy stat for a reason
Indeed., you can point blank fire a sniper and still miss. Compare that to BL2 and BLTPS where it's "BOOM, headshot, NEXT !"
Ads having random spread was one of if not the most annoying thing in b1.
With like the crimson hyperion weapons being the only accurate ones.
@@cjyoung5635 personally i hate the ridiculous weapon sway in bl2 more.
17:44 Yes, Borderlands 2. I AM LOVING THE FIRST GAME AND HAVE HEARD GREAT STUFF ABOUT BORDERLANDS 2.
Ik i am so hyped up to go and play BL2, i think its longer by a margin too and from what I've been hearing has a TON of endgame
That's pre-sequel is not as bad as everyone says it is. In fact, its my favorite BLs game. I've played through it countless times by now
Honestly really good vid for such a small channel mate. You're style of editing is great and I loved the opening joke. Keep rocking it 🤟
Thank you for that friendo!
I've always been one to not neglect any proficiencies in BL1. When I find a cool gun in a category that I'm not proficient in, I become excited to have found a perfect weapon to grind that weapon type's proficiency with.
interesting haha, im the opposite, if its not something I am proficient in ill just sell it hahaha
8:01 Lilith's ability is kind of a get out of jail free card where you can safely run away.
I'm 19 now.
Honestly its quickly working its way into my top 3 and ive only played 2 of the games so far 🤣 cant wait to see the rest
Proficiency works the same way
Huh interesting I think assumed it was just a flat xp rate across the board but that makes sense 🧐 thank you for the info!
Note: It's worth having both standard-issue BL1 AND BL1 "Enhanced," but if ya gonna go with just one, I recommend the OG.
I paid five bucks
Ay that's one hell of a deal then!
Lilith is definitely a get outta jail free card.
YES SHE IS, I don't know what I thought her ability did but clearly, I was wrong 🤣
@ same here! They made shooting so satisfying. It’s also worth mentioning that this game created the whole genre of games!
Keep up the Borderlands series content homie. This stuff is great. Cool to hear the perspective of someone who started with Bl3.
It has been eye opening can't lie and will do! got quite a few left in the series before 4 comes out!

Oh good lord and I was coming from 3 I would have lost my mind I think 🤣
I played this game on Xbox One backwards compatible before three game out. Thanks to your video, I just got it on PC for £2.50 on Steam. I appreciate the nostalgia of Borderlands. Watching videos on Borderlands and Skyrim equally make me want to load them up and play them for hours.

I was in the 7th grade and a friend said they were going to get borderlands 2 he told me about the games and I got bl1 and played the crap out of it
Its so damn good honestly the whole series is, super excited for Borderlands 4 but i wanna play everything before it comes out, gotta book it 🧐
You mentioned the one thing that I miss the most about the original borderlands.
@@LeonSMeowity speaking of Pearls, I really hope Borderlands 4 brings them back, I missed having a more rarer rarity that's above Legendary.

Got it for $3 or something like that and 100% worth the money. I'm right there with you with the the game is hard part it is pretty difficult but a fair level of difficult.
Oh Heck yeah thats one hell of deal right there!
Mordecai is disgusting if you max out his raptor specs. When you can toss out 3 birds? They wreck.
oooof I gotta check that out then, i think i completely blanked on the build in the second run hahaha was struggling alot till i realized I had no synergy
Jesus 👀 Sledge gave me enough of a hard time let alone 3 levels under
PLEASE, consider the Pre-Sequel, also. Real good game.
Oh 100% I definitely want to play it as well as tiny tinas wonderlands, gotta get the whole series done before the 4th game comes out
Tannis - would
ngl. this channel has some good potential. here. take my sub, good video.
Ayyyyy thank ya bud means alot!
Huh interesting I really need to get the Borderlands 2 huh, yeah ig thats fair, what's so strange is the new bundle, i think previously it was only 10$ but with the new bundle for game of the year enhanced + Game of the year for some reason + all dlc they must have jumped it back up to $30, interesting call on their part but 🤷♀️ what can you do. luckly it goes on sale every other minuet hahaha, Also interesting BL3 was a game I loved alot so I wonder if BL2, and the others will pull it lower on my list
i am soo glad he played 1 b4 2 everyone else has this massive bl2 bias because its the one they played first and then they get mad that bl1 IST bl2
rather than being objective.
Yeahhhh that tends to happen alot, I had a bit of a bias going into BL1 originally but after I kinda got it though my head that BL1 isn't BL3 the experience got a lot better and surprising at that
Loved the intro, loved your narration, and enjoyed the video
Thanks Bud! Means alot 😁
There actually are quite a bit of dedicated drops in borderlands one believe it or not should go look some of them up really good weapons fr
like the dove?
interesting ill have to go and try to get a few of these. Thank ya!
@@JustAhCrow anytime man RUclips will help u find where certain guns are dropped and by what bosses I’m sure there’s a sight online as well
If you really want the true experience of borderlands, I would recommend you play too. It’s one of the best games in the franchise. In my opinion a lot of loot, funny story, good gunplay, and there’s not as scarce of legendary guns to farm 💥🔫
Also, I love to see you play the game live that is
Definitely would, I just gotta figure out how haha, I did see that you can play psycho krieg and I am heavily intrigued, but have been told not a great vault hunter for a first playthrough cause he's a bit more complicated apparently
@@JustAhCrow I would recommend you play as a soldier, but he’s basically just Roland from the first game
I would recommend gun Zerker because it’s fun but tiny bit confusing but you just gotta read the skill tree and then you can understand
We need a bl2 playthrough@@JustAhCrow
🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐 Honestly been thinking about uploading all the first playthrough footage somewhere hmmm
@@JustAhCrow do it
The algorithm brought me here: really good video! Subbed
Ayyyyy thank you that means alot!
I appreciate that haha, and yes all of the Borderlands games are on the list, just a few ahead of it, but would really really like to be able to play BL4 on release as well but I Gots me some work to do hahaha 😁😁
i like borderlands 1 alot. i think bl 1 and 2 have the best setting/atmosphere and story and 3 has the best gameplay. hopefully bl4 is gonna be great
BL1 is quickly becoming a favorite now between 3 and 1, starting BL2 this week and with only 5 hours in.......yeahhhhh im gunna like it alot holy crap haha
You paid 29.99? Dude it goes on sale for like 5 to 10 bucks
Maybe you should try it. lel.
I have been warned......and from some snooping on what exactly OP10 is......oh god im gunna die 🤣
I finally decide to give Wonderlands a try since it was $12 on steam. I know better than to waste money on the DLC
Oh damn I nearly forgot about wonderlands I gotta pick that up as well
Great video dude, you deserve more subs!
Ayyy I appreciate that!
No
this is a really well made video dude and the humor is spot on, hope you get the attention you deserve someday
Hey! Thank ya friend tring to learn more everyday and....figure out how these darn things should be structured but we shall get there......one day
The Pandora’s box edition that comes with every Borderlands game/dlc and the Telltale games was on sale on Steam for $10. I still didn’t buy it
Eh fair enough not it might not be for everyone hahaha, actually one of my friends says he won't play it cause of the cell shaded art, so 🤷♀️ to each their own
No but the Pandoras box collection is on sale quite often do better to just do that
Fair if the big bundle is on sale that's definitely worth it, I think i grabbed it just to make sure i had everything at this point lol
Unlike the Borderlands 2 video, I have to disagree with the title, 30 is too much and you should definitely wait for a sale
@@JustAhCrow bl2 has more, i think he ment that bl1 has more WiTH dlc than base game bl2, bl2 has ALOT of dlc
Haven't watched the video, but to answer the title question:
Yes.
What took me 20mins this mad lad did in a second.......I think I talk to much 🤣🤣 Straight to the point love it!
Isnt borderlands usually on sale for less then $10 alot of the time
By my count literally every month or 2 🤣....but for some reason they removed the Game of the Year and DLC stand alone edition now the new bundle has the game of the year & GOTY enhanced + All DLC for $29.99 not sure why we need 2 copies of the same game but 🤷♀️ I think the stand alone one use to be 10$ normally
As of now on steam borderlands 1 goty edition with all dlcs is $3
🤩 HOLY CRAP ITS A STEAL
Uh I got B1, B2, TPS, and B3 and ALL the DLC for less than 30$ on Steam. 90% off for the bundle
Short answer; Hell no
Long answer: Hell no but you didn't time the deals right bro
You were also playing as Morde bro...he's the sniper rifle and revolver guy..it's not just a profiency choice for him; he literally skill specs into sniping and gunslinging.
8:00 Siren Phasewalk :P
Sidenote I leave on every Borderlands comment I make in case devs are rummaging through comments like I know they're not:
Eschaton Row is single-handedly the best map in the entire franchise; we need more of these.
See Tinas Wonderland I am very curious about as from what I heard it's the one that did a ton of stuff right but also kinda missed in alot of other areas so thats one Im interested in getting too
BUT POE IS STILL SCARY 😭
Considering i bought it 7 times i think it is worth. I still don't have the enhanced version so ill hear you out 😂
Gawd damn now thats some Borderlands Love right der, and yeah the enhanced is good but from what I'm hearing the GOTY edition is where its at
can you make a discord server for the channel?
I can try hahaha setting up discord servers is like my kryptonite I break it EVERYTIME 🤣🤣
@@JustAhCrow super excited for it, I can't wait. Fantastic videos btw for only starting up recently.
Play the sly cooper games if you can find them
Interesting 🧐 maybe i can, never had a chance to play them
@@JustAhCrow It's one of my favorite franchises.
I bought the whole borderlands trilogy on Xbox for less. Totally worth it. Bl2 is my favourite by far
ayyyyyy then its a steal then hahaha
you should take a look at Rage 1 frim ID the better borderlands for me.
Huh I don't think I've ever heard of it, welp its on the list now hahah thank ya!
Yes, yes is the answer
Indeed it is
Yeah it's definitely worth it.
Haha oh most definitely the grit of the guns in BL1 was unexpectedly nice change from the third game and the weapon systems
See I'm the weirdo who likes Borderlands TPS.
I've actually heard really good things about the pre sequel, still trying to decide if I should play that next or just go to BL2 first then do the Pre-Sequal and Tinas wonderlands after that
Borderlands 1 i still find myself havinng to farm xp and go back to get stronger so i can face a stupid ass level 30 bruiser 😂
FOR REAL I found a level 30 Badass Psycho when I was like level 24-25 roughly and beat me stupid, I xp farmed just so I could go back and get my vengeance 🤣
@@JustAhCrow im literally 25 rn going back so i can kill taylor kobb 🤣
Dude the game is on sale like every other hour, WHY DID YOU PAY FULL PRICE
It is indeed 🤣 and I intentionally try my best to pay list price since I think it keeps me more level and I'm less likely to let the little stuff slide because it was cheep. Don't be me I'm just strange hahaha
Bruh that’s not how borderlands works you can have a legendary off the first boss in any game and it’ll get replaced in just like 6 or 7 levels because the scaling of the weapons also just saying not to be an asshole or anything but bl1 is not hard at all like I’ve never considered myself to be a good gamer just a very casual gamer and I just beat the first borderlands for the first time since like 2010-12 somewhere around there and it took me a couple days of playing for a few hours after work and I never died I went down a handful of times but I never actually died edit because I unpause and he said something about having to carry around meds with you because they don’t drop as often as they do in other ones but I literally never bought any heals other than a couple of instant health a couple times but I never carried any around with me I actually for got that was a thing in this one and when I saw it I was like yea I’m never gonna buy those also I never had to grind to level myself up for the story quests I don’t know why people would have to I was on level for my story quests the entire time I didn’t even start doing side quests until the 2nd play through
Bro played the easier game of the year edition too and still didn’t find any good loot.
Do the editions vary that much? I figured the drop chances wouldn't change 🧐
@ They made it so the “Awesome” level is higher in a lot of locations throughout the game. And higher class enemies like badasses and bosses actually drop good loot.
Just for context, on the OG borderlands the destroyer would very very rarely drop a blue item and there wasn’t any red chests for you either.
0.o welllllllllll gawd damn thats different
@@JustAhCrowYeah imagine beating the game after playing for 10 hours just to get 3 white guns and a green grenade mod
I haven’t watched the video yet but just saying you can buy every borderlands video game content I’m talking all the games and all the dlcs even all the tales chapters for just $37 so if you didn’t buy just borderlands for $30 then you got scammed
Just bought it with 3 euros.
Heck Yeah if its a deal its a steal 🤣
29.99? Bro the GOTY edition is $9 on ebay. Digital is such a rip off.
To be fair it's on sale for 10 bucks every other month lmao. Actually 2.99 last time I checked.
What's weird is the new bundle it's GOTY plus GOTY enhanced plus all dlc for 30
I think the GOTY stand alone was like 10 bucks when it was available
I paid $10 for the handsome collection disc from GameStop and was digitally ordered and purchased the the rest of all the games and tales from the boarderlands for only $5.99. Was a prompt when I first loaded disc for the first time.
This was 3 months ago.
Love Borderlands 1 ❤
Has quickly found a place in my heart now haha just cant stop, but i gotta get to BL2 lmao

Also congrats on 1000 sub
this is incredibly well made. insta sub from me 🔥🔥
will you do Borderlands 2 or Pre-Sequel?
Thank ya friendo! also most definitely planning to do Borderlands 2 and Pre Sequel sometime soon maybe a few in-between so i don't burn out on the gameplay style too much but excited as Heck! 🤩 should I go with BL2 first or the Pre-Sequel?
@@JustAhCrow i’d say 2 first. Pre-Sequel has some minor spoilers for 2 and missing context without playing 2

.......I am intrigued, terrified, but intrigued all the same 🧐 is it kinda like mayhem levels?
@ yes they were the mayhem levels before the mayhem levels you need to make slagging enemies part of your build to stand a chance.
interesting sounds like a learning curve for BL2, looking forward to it 🤩
Lol, disable aim assist and predict enemy movement
I WAS SO CONFUSED WHY THAT WAS ON. omg it took me way to long to notice but I always assumed it was automatically off on PC 🤣🤣🤣
No
Boarderlands 3 story suuuuuuucks soooo haaard, it’s add on content is better
BL3 was trash. Makes fun of content creators
