You forgot the part about how actual line jobs have been removed and those components added to others over cycling other jobs affecting quality.
    And quality inspection jobs cut.
And a quality testing facility closed.
And quality is used in negotiations.
    Also..
Refusing to drop the prices affects the market for the product.

If the videos I've seen are accurate,a large part of their Problem is that the outgoing CEO is to focused on building things people don't want, instead of what people do want. Then they want to charge big money for things most people don't want. It like he either don't understand or don't care that most people want to stick with the internal Combustion automobile, or he hates it so much he don't care what the customers want. As for their threat to move Durango production outside the U.S,that would be foolish. They would get hit so hard with Tariffs that people will start seeing better deals elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with Capitalism, as long as it benefits everybody. If people are out of work and poor then they cannot afford to buy products - everybody, not just the corporate bosses need to be well off financially, then everyone gains! In case you hadnt noticed people arent buying their overpriced cars/trucks/jeeps. What did you expect when there is less revenue coming in to sustain operations? You want more money but the products dont sell at the prices needed to justify the expensive labor. Do you think big auto should get ANOTHER taxpayer bailout so you can keep jobs at mismanaged/dying companies? Ford isnt selling trucks either. Overpriced and low quality products wont find buyers. Robots will replace thousands of high priced labor and the corruption in the unions will fade. Thats just the reality. 60-80K for a pickup/jeep is INSANE. It sounds like everybody needs a pay cut across the board starting at the top to get prices back to reasonable levels. Until then sales will struggle.

We just left a dealer last Saturday with our old Durango. The high price in conjunction with Dodge de-contenting the truck drove us away. Here's what was left out we noticed; I'm sure there's more, the fairly useless but handy flashlight in the back, Lane keep assist, fog lights and engine cover. To get the lane keep which wasn't available on our 2015 would have required another $12,000 for the R/T PREMIUM package, it's not in the PLUS package, WTF is that about? We're headed into retirement and would like something newer with more features, but there's nothing wrong with the old one save approaching 100,000 miles and needing that service of new spark plugs and PCV valve. Our dealer we've had very good luck with for some 30 years has been sold to a knot head. Those things PLUS having no confidence in the future of Stellantis drove us away. Been driving mopars since 1973. stuck with them through both crisis, never had less faith in the future of the company than now. Stellantis isn't even an American company anymore and probably has very little compassion for doing work here when they can do it elsewhere for less. We are an auto sub plant but have been told since there is republican legislation in office the state of kansas unemployment wont except spreadsheets from GM to generate our unemployment to generate our auto sub pay. We now for the first time ever are required to submit applications and provide proof of searching for work once a week! Our temps just got screwed out of profit sharing too that was promised to them. Management works on the line every single day! This friday they were all terminated as well as multiple local parts plants that supply us parts closed down and put hundreds of workers out! But yeah we’re doing great with this record contract! I pay $100 a month in union dues for a crock of shit lies and false promises! For the first time in 18 years im considering pulling my dues and i hope everyone else that wasnt brought into this union by a referral with not enough knowledge of what it stands for wakes up and pulls their dues too! A corporation has a fiduciary responsibility to it's shareholders otherwise why invest in it? With that said as we know most management at corporations are incompetent. The other problem is the unions are also mismanaged. Workers and the public get screwed as usual.
The problem with the US auto market is the US dollar has lost about 30% of it's buying power since 2010 because of inflation. Added to that is interest rates plus stealership markups and scams. I like my jeep and Ram pickup but actually had two people at our local stealership arrested because they changed the terms of my wife's lease AFTER she signed it. Luckily the bank caught it. This is why I won't be buying Jeep or Ram again even though the large corporation that owns the local dealership did make everything right and I got my Warlock at cost and her jeep below cost so we wouldn't sue. EV's are not going to sell well iin my state so it will be a loss if they go this route so focusing their future on EVs is just dumb and short sided. People complain about a 70k pickup but 70k USD today was 50k USD in 2010 and the vehicles today are much nicer. A guy at work bought a new FULLY loaded Warlock 5.7 with full tow package for 42k and that would have been 30k back in 2010. Not bad at all if you ask me.

😊 stallantis is so full of SHIT, I bought Two new ones this year, 24 durango srt, and a 24 Pacifica Road tripper. What has happened, the dealerships have driven up prices and the banks aren't giving rates below 7.5% with 800 credit scores. People I put my money where my mouth is,, BUY AMERICAN. OUR PEOPLE DEPEND ON IT. I THANK GOD EVERYDAY I AM HAPPILY RETIRED.

Pay cuts from the top down. Not only Stellantis but all of the big 3. U.A.W. Gonna have to be willing to concede on wages as well. If consumers are going to buy products produced by the big 3, prices need to come out of the stratosphere. 80k for a jeep is just crazy. Better wake up boys n girls. Will not be any products American made unless costs are reduced.
