Oh and the fact you showed both sides really helped, sometimes "experts" make the worst teachers when they forget what it means to be new to a craft they are teaching
5 years later and this tutorial are never getting old🔥 Just about to start leather crafting and im so lucky to find this video!. Thanks for the tutorial!
THANK YOU! I spent hours this morning trying to figure this out (I am an absolute beginner) and your video was by far the most helpful. Your instructions are very clear, and your camera work is perfect. Many thanks.
I have to agree, its been 7 years since this video was created, and it's perfect now 7 years later. The details and the filming is excellent, thank you so much. I was having an issue with the wrap the thread over the needle counter clock wise, I now understand. The other point I would like to thank you for is telling your viewers like me, what direct your piece should be facing on the stitching pony, front side and back side, this is by far the absolute best video on RUclips !
Thank you Gary, excellent video ! I am a newbie and have watched quite a few so called instructional videos but none as good as yours. Clear shots and at a speed easy to follow, good plain instructions and the reason for that particular procedure helped me make sense of it. Some of the other youtubers waffle on for hours, with poor editing & focus plus clip the most important bits. Subscribed !
Jesus Christ I've tried to watch about 5 different videos that were maybe higher budget but this is the only one I could understand nice and slow and easy. Thank you thank you.
This is the video that explains best how to saddle stitch. After a few weeks of trying different stitching methods with inconsistent results following this video finally got my saddle stitch perfect.
WOOOO, you are the only one I understand, you focuses the camera where is supposed to be, thanks to you I'm able for a first time to stitch on leather, I thought that I couldn't do it. I got some problems like that the thread make knots somehow, the wax make the threat bit hard to managed, but that it's because I don't have experience. I am very grateful to you. Thanks a lot!
Voila! Now I know how to stich leather! Because of people like you making these videos, I can confidently move forward with any project that I can imagine! Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you. I’m a first time leather crafter trying to learn how the hand stitchings are performed, I must say your video teaching is the tops! I’ve watched other makers teaching videos, it’s all done by machines! I just want to start with very basics of how to video, to make it the old fashion ways, not machines. It’s Not Handmade then is it! Anyway, Thank You for this very well shown specific educational video, I most sincerely appreciate it. Look forward to viewing the others. I hope you will get huge followers/viewers! I’ll be sure to pass along about your channel. 🍃👍😊🌷👏🌸🍃
I'am new to leather work and I have watched all the video on stitching but this is the best by far. Explained clearly and the camera was placed in the right position and we'll lit. Thank you. Mike
This is the best demonstration and explanation of this type of stitching that I've seen and I have watched a great many videos on the subject. Thanks for posting it. Cheers.
i've watched you build several items on youtube . your work is fantastic , i am very impressed at your no b.s. approach , quality work and videos . thank you for your time and craftsmanship teaching .
Thank you for this video. I not only saved it in my leather play list BUT I ALSO download the video to my cell so that even if I don't have service I can just watch it off my memory card. I also emailed it to myself n put it on my PC.
I realize I'm only about the 10,000th person to say so, but thank you! Excellent tutorial. Particularly when you initially thread the needle and loop back, piercing the thread and knotting off. Silence and demonstration worked brilliantly where trying to explain that would have been brutal! Thanks again.
I can’t believe how you were able to talk through saddle stitching so descriptively and slowly, yet able to pack it in a relatively short video! Great job! I am gonna loop this and start practicing! Thank you, Gary!
I have watched other videos on stitching and each time I thought I understood it. In fact just this evening I tried stitching and made mistakes. Tonight I found your video and I finally found out what I was doing wrong. I think I can honestly say I understand it now. I want to thank you for making this video.
I watched your video previously. I just completed my first stitching using your method. It turned out quite well. Looks nice. Thank you for your demonstration.
I want to tell u important thing .. I watch more than 100 video for stitching tutorial... I didn't understand any one of them .. u really awesome easy to the point ( THANKS AMILION )
Thank you for a detailed close up I’ve been watching countless of videos, my dad started making leather wallets (sadly we’re in two separate states otherwise I could have a one on one with him) and he recorded himself on some threading processing and as a quick visual learner I was understanding a few things just got lost if there was 1 or 2 needles involved. Thank you for easily showing this would’ve saved me time but I also needed to learn more things as well before testing myself
Came across your video and it is definitely a very easy and informative explanation video. I was able to understand it completely without having to watch any other videos. Thank you
Perfect timing for this video. I was about to start my first project that required stitching. I liked the tip about crossing the needles and making the 90 degree rotation to start the back stitch. Once you get use to the technique you can get a nice rhythm going. I enjoy all of your videos. Thanks for taking the time.
Hi! This is the most detail stitching lesson Ive ever seen on RUclips)), Thanks for Sharing your talent helping everyone who is interested to learn! Appreciate!
Brilliant. I learned two things that have tormented me for years. 1. Anchoring the thread ends to the needle; brilliant. 2. Technique to avoid skewering opposing thread (twine) stitch: fantastic. “Why did I not think of this?! “ techniques. Also, striking stitching with mallet. I customarily use a Sailmaker’s Seam Rubber. Will try your technique. Thanks, Vernon
I just happened to come across this video I don’t do leather work with it was interesting to the point where I might take it up. Awesome production thank you for posting
Já perdi a conta dos vídeos de costura em couro que venho assistindo. Sua explicação sobre costura com duas agulhas superou é a melhor em relação a tudo que já assisti. Consegui entender. As Imagens são excelentes. Muito obrigado pela aula e dedicação. Seus trabalhos são lindos!
Ive seen loads of shitty clips about leather stitching that do not show how to use the needles. They skip the part! This is the best video that shows how to use the needles.
My handbag's clasp is broken and there's no repair shop where I live so I have to do it myself. Thank you so much for this detailed instruction, it's very easy to follow 💖
Thank you very much for this video. I have been looking for a good tutorial for leather stitching. And final I found your channel. Thank you again keep posting

Thank you so much for this video. I made my sling bag and my stitches were very neat using your method. Very happy with the result! Now I am thinking about my next project!
It's amazing to see the Cobblers in India stitching shoes, their needle was a piece of Bicycle spokes attached to a wooden handle. the other end was flattened and a hook made to draw the thread through the leather. (Watching this video brings back memories.)
You’re the reason why I tell people to never stop learning. Thank you for teaching me to stitch leather
Thank you very much, I'm glad to hear that!
