    This music known as a Greek music but in fact it's a Turkish music. It's founded by a Turkish who lives in Greece. Greeks also trying to stole our Yoghurt. Even both are Turkish words!.. Yoğurt - > Yoğurmak - > Kneading Misirlu - > Mısırlı - > It means "Egyptian" in the Turkish accent which is spoken in Ottoman age.

      ona bakılırsa Mısır kelimesi de arapça, o zaman arap müziği oluyor senin mantıkla. Misirlou yunanca okunuşu zaten. Anadoluda hiç rum yok muydu türkçe konuşan? Biz araplardan mısır kelimesini nasıl almışsak onlar da mısırlı kelimesini öyle almış. Müziğin az tarihçesine bak yahu, bu bir rum ve sefarad halk şarkısı.

    Much as I like Dick Dale, he didn't WRITE Miserlou; it's a mid-eastern/mediteranean standard, that's hundreds of years old. These bozos should know that.

      @@steve1000 A Jewish Oud player and composer, born in Aleppo who also lived in Egypt, Effendi Ibrahim. Wrote many pieces including this one. He is credited with the lyrics, but the melody might have been already known.
