The Vermund Vault (Vernworth castle Vault) is a Vault that can be found underneath Vernworth Castle. The intended way to get in is to wait for the guards shift changes and sneak into the vault that way, but you can get in using this handy barrel method.
The guard will normally refuse to let you past no matter what. You can either defeat them and then use the "Makeshift Vault Key" to get in, or you can throw a barrel at them, grab them, carry them up the stairs and drop in the kitchen. Run back to the vault and then you can just enter it without the key.

You could also just swing or use magic bolt near her, she starts to panic and run towards you, thats where you grab her.
Im on PS5 and i just got to bakbattahl. Havent done any story missions there yet and i was able to use this method exactly. The door wasn't even locked and i still had the key for it.
I found a makeshift key for it and never saw a gaurd but thanks for the advice for when I do in NG+
Well I did it just now. I received the key from the NPC at ancient battle ground. The MC is dressed as one of guards. The time is just after mid day. I carried the barrel but there was nobody around so I unlocked the vault door, took everything and walked out. 😄
You have to carry her to the kitchen ?? , devs really cool with this solution
If you go to vault first thing in the morning there is no guard. also you should include the location of the key in the video as well. makes it look like you can just walk in
You can just walk in this way, I didn’t have the key on me

I have been to the Vault every time of the day and she is always there.

Pro tip, don’t carry her all the way up to the kitchen. She teleported back down to the door when I did that. Instead, carry her halfway up the stairs, maybe a bit before. It worked when I did that

Hello fellow arisens! I tried this method but as soon as i threw the guard in the kitchen she teleports back. During the night the kitchen isn't accessible for me since I finished all brant's quests. So I tried to throw the guard before the last steps of the stairs that lead to the kitchen. Trow her and run as fast as you can, she didn't respawn :)

That might happen, don’t know what causes it but 9 times out of 10 she didn’t
Try just sitting her down like he did in the video . The first time I picked her up, took her to the kitchen and threw her ass across the tables smashing all the plates. Once I returned to the vault she was back. So I did it again and dropped her in the kitchen then ran back and it worked! I was in the vault.

Even when she was nowhere near the vault after I brought her to the kitchen (and occasionally even further away) she just appeared when I got close to the vault again. So I had to kill her which was much easier for me...
I carried her and when I ran back she is back in there, did they patch this?
Edit: I put a spell of lightning on my arrow and it stuns her, then I carry her just two flight os stairs and it work
edit2: I went ahead to Medusa with an archer vocation level 35 and brought a level 54 healer support, my two pawns sorcerer and thief died in the first 10min of the filght, took me almost an hour to beat it solo using the maxxed out spiral arrow and keep hitting the tail, I dodged the eye and hide and wait, same strategy works..
the guard isnt there and i need a key, did the method last run but now shes just not there ...., HELP
If you can’t get it to work throw a barrel at the feet of the guard but don’t hit her. Run up the stairs until the spot where they turn (just sit there and peak around the corner with the camera) she’ll turn around and you can go grab her and put her somewhere and get in

Use the armor soldier only.... you dont need the key...

@@mattfrith3882 what quest? I couldnt get past her either, every time i stepped near the door she said leave at once, the screen faded to black and i was on the stairs facing back upwards. Literally impossible to walk past her.
Even tried using shadow veil and smoke shroud with the hunter.
Not sure if it was because of it being night time but there was no guard at that door for my experience.
Any update on to the victor goes the spoils trophy?
A thief will knock you over and take an item, you then need to chase him to get it back. I don’t know how this is triggered reliably though
I got this randomly the other night. Didn’t realize it was a rare occurrance.
Ya it'd a random event, mainly when wandering the road it's gunna be a theif type enemy brigand that will preform that tackle move in the skill, when he tackles you to the ground he'll steal something, and you have to kill/grab him to get it back
@@mandrews6282 Pretty sure it can happen to a pawn because when I got the achievement I was just walking around near the hotspring place and got it. I was confused and looked around for my stuff that I thought I had lost (because the description of the achievement). In ng+ around the same area my pawns were messing with the bandits again and when the bandit died he dropped lots of fruits and flowers, which were most likely just from the pawn's inventory.
I didnt see gaurd there so i grrabbed one by the kitchen threw him in and ran back and i still need key
If you don’t have the key which you get from Ancient Battleground, you’ll need to come back to a time of day when the guard is there. The guard is usually always there so you went at a very small window when there wasn’t
...has anyone considered using the thief class for this? You can essentially just steal what you need without even being seen
So I tried using using shadow cloak and smoke screen and she was still able to see me BUT when you leave you're close enough to use plunder on her and you get... nothing absolutely nothing

You forget the medusa head also in top right corner
if you use the normal back door (from the quest), you can just come back in at night, no guards (there is even an NPC that walks around and tells you that he the place is unguarded :P )
I tried it at night with the key and the guard was always there, no matter what I did
@@HarryNinetyFour very weird, for me (before the first soft lock quest) - and again, at night, "undetected" from the side entrance, a normal - none guard npc- is there telling me the place is unguarded :)
I just equipped magic archer with hailstone bolt and 1-shot the guard
Tried this several times and either it was patched or something .. but the guard now reappears and tells you to go away

Just tried it a few minutes ago, still worked for me.
When I throw a barrel it just breaks and then they run right at me and tell me to F off….. lol
I was caught by Disa herself while doing this. -_-
Didn't work for me. I hit her with the barrel, she runs up, but I can't grab her. Also can't attack her. She just teleports me back to the top. =/
What class are you using? I don’t think all of them can pick people up but I might be wrong

@@HarryNinetyFour oh the chest where the makeshift key was in. I found out my pawn had took it thanks for replying.
There is just a male guard standing down there in my game and he's not even at the door and the door is locked. Carrying him away does nothing and he is also always there, I checked every time of the day and skipped multiple days. The female guard appearing there seems to be tied to main story progression.
How far in the story are you?
@@HarryNinetyFour I have only done the first few Brant's quests, haven't done magistrate, masquerade and coronation. I was also able to go to the door at any time without problem, since the guard was standing further up the stairs and he was also never in battle stance and I could just normally talk and pick him up and move him around. After writing the comment I skipped a few more times, but nothing changed so I went to get the makeshift key for the vault. The moment I went down the stairs from the kitchen with the key in my inventory he suddenly decided to move for the first time and walked away. Also after opening the vault there is never a guard down there anymore at all.

Turns out the key was on my main pawn 😅😅😅 who cannot even come in the castle. Check your pockets and chest gamers

I just tried it again after the patch and it still works. You might need to be further into the story
@@HarryNinetyFour i literally just got the key from the quest and unlocked the door. It was locked for me and no guards at any time of day. Happy I got in as I wanted the shield.
She ports back to the door :/

Literally did this 6 times and it didnt work. Devs must have patched this, not like the quest likes are a pain as it is lol

Absolutly unnecessary. You can simply go there at night during the quest where you enter the castle to find out about Disa. Simply walk free in the castle with your guards uniform on and during night, there won't be a guard near the vault. As for the key, i found a key for the vault in or near the cavern on worlds end, the one near the ancient battlefield that you have to cross to find the Sphinx. And by the way, you missed the 20k Gold in the video. You can even see it in the recording.
And outside that quest the guard is there, night or not. There’s a tiny window where guard shift changes so this is the easiest way to get in
@@HarryNinetyFour I went there a few weeks after the quest with the guard uniform and didn't have any problem. I could walk past him
No idea what actually causes her to let you past then, I tried in full marchers armor and still was denied, and likely months had passed since I did the quest

Edit: just went in main door, they said not allowed, but that door opened and I just kept truckin past and figured out where I was and what door I was supposed to go in and worked it out, and there wasn't a guard at vault.. Just walked in (with key of course)
The guard is never there at night. I would say you are wrong and that going at night with the armor is the easiest way to avoid interacting with any guard.@@HarryNinetyFour
