I know he was there I was standing behind him on the show floor and kept getting in the camera shot and had no idea til my husband watched it later. We just happened to be walking past the stage as they were surprise announcing him and we shot over and got to the front since no one was standing there it just happened. I didn't want to be on TV though lol. But it was great the convention was awesome I really want to go to the next one cause Disney will be doing that one the contract expires this year for the company who puts on the conventions now. That's what we were told. I'm sure once Disney is doing the conventions they'll be much more interactive I can't wait. We just happen to live in the Chicago suburbs so when the tickets went on sale in December my husband bought 5 day passes and took a week off work haha. Can't miss a Star Wars convention if you have a chance to go to one. I really want to go to the next one though hopefully it's in the US and not too far. Unless they do it at Disney idk how that would work though.
I've been hoping for the Plagueis/Sidious influence in this trilogy...maybe it'll actually happen. But who knows, I expected alot from TLJ and was disappointed.

Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.
My theory is that Palpatine has come back and rey and kylo are going to group up... I think they are brother and sister but kylo hated his parents obviously so he told rey her parents were no one who traded her... And that's why she is hugging leia in the trailer because all along leia was her mother omg I think I've worked it out haha

One thing I've been thinking about is the cosmic force and forces ghosts and I'm wondering if Palpatine has figured out how to return as a force ghost and influence the physical world like Yoda did in TLJ. That would mean force ghosts of Luke, Yoda, Anakin, Obi Wan and maybe even Qui Gon would be there to fight along with Rey. I know it's crazy and unlikely but it would be awesome! Otherwise Palps is either a clone or some sort of cave like experience that Rey has to go through like Luke did. Who knows...but as long as Palps has a strong presence in the movie...we're all in!!

He got chucked down a chute.. that's it. If you remember.. Luke fell down one of those in Empire.. and found his way into a garbage chute. Sidious is " far more powerful" and I have no doubt he survived his base jumping.
Except just a few short moments later the Death Star blew up!!. So unless he escaped in a shuttle or something....I think his presence in Ep 9 going to be more force ghost, cosmic force related.

There are multiple references to the Emperor cloning himself in the extended verse. It could also be ghost Emperor because they proved in Rebels that Sith can also be force ghosts.
We speculated about clone Palpatine after we stopped recording. He was definitely into cloning. A strong possibility for this film. Either way, we love it. Palps is one of my all time Star Wars favorite characters...mostly because of how Ian Mcdiarmid plays him.

If I were you I wouldn't go into the movie saying please don't disappoint me. Because nothing will be better than your head cannon. Go into the movie and say whatever happens, happens. Sit back relax and enjoy star wars... or they might decide they aren't going to make anymore after this saga.

Upon dying he had the ability to transfer his life force to a clone using a dark side force technique called essence transfer. The Sith also had the ability to transfer their life force into inanimate objects such as a Sith artifact or tomb. In the comic series, Palpatine used this technique a number of times to cheat death.
Plus, I still hold on to the fact that he was an apprentice to Darth Plageius...one way or another Palps will have some kind of presence in this film!! Very cool. Better late than never I guess.

Also, right after the trailer ended at the star wars convention, the actor that plays Sidious (Can't spell his last name, lol) came out and said "Roll it again." in Sidious' voice. So I'm almost certain he ends up being the main protagonist again.
In the raw video I was wondering if it was Endor. But all I could picture was the forest moon and i want making any sense so i edited that part out! Lol. Good call. Can't wait to see!
