My reason for watching was that I'm about to put some DXT2 sights on my G3C. The SW Shield is similar size. I'm also ex-MIL/LEO retired. To all the trolls who say "BiG dOtS aRen'T AccUrAte!!!" I would say that you pick the right tool for the job. Only an idiot or trick shooter would be trying to plink pop cans from 100 yards with a sub compact pistol with big dots. We're talking about real world application here. Not imagination land. Most real gun fights happen within 30 feet. Does that mean you should practice quick draw at 10 yards with a compact gun with big dots if it's your CCW? Absolutely. That's what it's for. Good luck ever trying to explain to a prosecutor, judge, or jury why you had to shoot someone from 100 yards away in a self defense shooting. Spoiler alert, you're probably going to prison. If you need to shoot something accurately at that range, you need at least an AR or at best, a good hunting rifle. Funny thing is, I'm packing a pocket rocket around Walmart because it's hard to conceal my .308 rifle on my waist. My hunting rifle has a nice scope on it, but again, it's a different tool for a different job. You don't bring your Mossy Oak Remington 700 to a gunfight outside of your local saloon. This brings us back to our first scenario again. Good luck explaining to anyone in the court room why you happened to have a tricked out AR15 to defend yourself in the mall parking lot when someone tried to rape you in the pooper. It's all about the amount of "use of force" and the "intent" behind it. tl;dr FINAL VERDICT. These are the perfect sights for THIS TYPE of firearm, but not for anything else. I hope my advice helps anyone who took the time to read my comment. Great review, brother. Thumbs up!
Great comment. I agree, I've seen comments like "they're no good past about 25 yards", I'm thinking well I would never know that because I'm not shooting that far with a Glock 26 in the first place!
Thank you from your newest subscriber, learned just what I needed and I'm thinking that I'm going to be giving my LS9s Pro a gift. Oh and by the way for some of the people that I've been running into lately that brain is still a bit to high.
I know this video is older but I just have to say, that echo after each shot sounds just like the Deliverance sound track. I think it's at the ending when the hand comes up out of the water. Good shooting BTW.
My guess why XS would tell you to aim like that is so you can get a better sight picture for long range shots. Otherwise the huge dot would obscure the target.
Dude.. that's sick... yea a little low but for a 3.5" barrel at 25 yards...that is DEATH! GREAT VID... I'm buying them for my woman that I bought a PPS M2 for.. they do not offer them for my Jericho or CZ yet but I am going to try a standard 24/7 on my PPQ45... Not crazy about the sights on the PPQ and it deserves a decent sight.. im getting on 51yo and my eyes are showing it..can't wait to try them!!
I’ve used the big dot before and they are on the list for consideration for a Shield. Are you still happy with them in 2022? I tend to lean towards getting the most accuracy the gun will give but I also tend to forget what is probably the most important - Speed of accuracy!
That's a good group for that distance is good. As far as the anatomy my wife's a nurse and she said something seems a little off. But seems pretty legit
Have that sight system on my 40 shield. Don't like it. Takes too long to acquire sight picture / alignment to suit me. Gonna switch back to 3 dot this week.
I wanna know how the hell everyone can drop the slide from the slide lock. I just can't do it on my shield. I guess I need to hit the gym with my thumb 👍🏼
Getting ready to buy these and place them on my shield. Can't wait! Btw, that XD is looking like a monster!! I need a red dot sight like that on my MP Shield in due time as well!! Where did you find that muzzle?
Warrior Works....at that range, under the circumstances you provided, my gun would be drawn no doubt. I would NOT be returning fire, me and mine would be running and ducking for cover behind automobiles and such, searching for the nearest exit OUT OF THE SITUATION, not trying to compound it by more flying bullets that could potentially hurt/ maim/kill others that were not the threat. There is method to the madness...I'm waiting for my adrenaline to stabilize, so if needs be, I can neutralize threat at a closer range.....better shot placement, threat has no way to continue. May NEITHER one of us ever have to be in that situation, but that is why we train. Good day Sir.
I suspect that would vary from state to state. During my time with Fed LE, for deadly force to be employed, if we were within the effective range of the attackers weapon we could return fire.
My instructions do not say that. You're basically supposed to use a 6 o'clock hold at 25 yards (dotting the "i" as normal).
Forum and Brim What mine say too.
=25yd: Dot the "i"; Put the top of the front sight housing on the center of the target (underline it).

I have read that at 25 yards you use the "lollypop" thing and impact at 25 yards is the top of the big dot
that is correct
I thought you still dot the I, but put the top of the dot on the bulls eye. But, I hear all the time it’s rather unique for each pistol.
Thats what I understand also!

Agree
I love Bar Dot sights

Lol, thanks. Yeah, the echo is weird on camera for sure.

This was a great laugh and informative. Thanks man
Glad you enjoyed it!

Still a fan.
I have them on my Beretta 92X full size and love them

😂😂😂😂 I'm love the target everything is definitely where it should be 🙌🏽💯💯💯💯
#scienceman
LOVE the Adam Sandler impersonation! !!!!
lolz i love how nb u clowned on everyone complaining about where u put the heart and lungs! lmfao
Perfect representation of a the human anatomy
That was such a helpful video. Thank you so much.

Want to sell them?
Thank you.
The m&p/compact big dots have a white strip instead of tritium. Does anyone know if I can use the shield sights for my m&p 9c compact?
Yes you can
You got James Hetfield hitting a riff after each shot lmao awesome soundtrack and artwork lol.
I thought beyond 15 yards you are to dot the I and use the top of the dot for your POA
I wanna know how the hell everyone can drop the slide from the slide lock. I just can't do it on my shield. I guess I need to hit the gym with my thumb 👍🏼
I played a lot of thumb wrestling when I was little. Plus I have giant clubs for hands
Shouldn't worry with it. Get in the habit of racking the slide.
You Shot a tighter group with the shield. Than you did with the larger Glock on the last vid. What would you attribute that to?
I call them the "dot the i" sight picture
Thank you DR. WW...
I am effective with my shield 40 up to like 15 yards. Anything further I would consider running away 😂
25 yards gets really far away with a sub compact
I like these sights but can't decide still these or the tru glows. Are these good at night too?
Shield does not have tritium in rear.

I love the target. I would of been more graphic. Lol
25 yards is not considered an immediate threat

Unless they are an active shooter and have a rifle shooting people and at you...every situation is different
LOL, great anatomy lesson!
Thanks. You should see my brachial plexus innervation diagram.
Kool echo
The target is pre accurate lol
lol, it's basically an MRI, right?
Yes 😂
haha! love it!
If that target was an anatomically correct MALE target, the brain would be in the groin area... just sayin
Ha
Funny
Bwahahahahaaaa!!! :))
Lol
