I've found an XS Big Dot front and Novak (half) Ghost Ring LoMount rear is a fantastically fast sight system. Especially for aging eyes. It's also much more precise (for me) than the open express rear.
Tom's method, with the standard Express Sights, DOES WORK but you HAVE to get used to it as it's much different than a standard sight picture.
This new sight should improve the Novak/XS system that I use even MORE!!!

And it's always interesting to compare how well those aging eyes (i have them...) contrast with busy everyday backgrounds as opposed to a paper target. - TM

I absolutely love these for an AK and got 6 inch to 8 inch groups at 200 yards. And nothing is faster close in. I've tagged pests balls out running inside 50 yards. They are great.

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that I love Roy Huntington's videos of the many topics he puts out. But I also get just as much from the content that you are putting out, especially when it comes to these things like different sighting systems, the various types of handguns, and especially when you talk about revolvers.
You stack up very well against any other gun content youtuber, and that is an extremely good complement, considering the many people putting things out today. So thank you and well done. I look forward to more of your short videos on the various topics that you cover.
Be safe and have a blessed fall season, taking time to just recreate with yourself and your family. I know how hard editors work, and you need down time to be able to put in the long hours often needed to put the issues to bed, in a manner of speaking.

I have loved the XS Big Dot sights for a couple decades now. I put them on my duty Glocks and found that if you used the smaller interior dot for precision, you could aim as fast as you wanted and still be smoking fast. I just used the “Dot the i” method and loved it. I just wish that I could have gotten a taller suppressor height set to cowitness with my DPP on my Glock 17MOS. I tried several sights and only a plain black set of Dawson Precision sights would work. On my non optic equipped pistols, I still use the XS Big Dots. They are the best sights I have ever used. Trijicon sights are okay, but not as fast for me as XS sights.

You might want to give the XSW folks a call. They've done a number of suppressor-height sights and may have some options to consider. - TM

I used the original Brig Dot (while) and loved it. I recently tried the orange dot version to be useless. The dot seems smaller (whatever the specs say) the the r color front sight does not reflect as well as the white. Give me a larger white front dot and I will be happy.

Good stuff Tom! On my CZ97B the Big Dot 🟢 system works great, and the learning curve wasn't very long.

Red dots on handguns are foreign to me. Not easily holstered to my way of thinking and needlessly fragile.
I'm not saying they don't work, and that my view isn't biased. But big dot tritium sights just make sense for combat applications to me. They're bright, they're instinctive (ergo fast) and they're rugged. What more would you want in a defensive pistol?

Just got these DXT2 with standard dot size
For my Walther PDP Compact SD to Co-witness with my flush mount Holosun SCS.
Went with these to have a cleaner sight picture with the red dot. Don’t want to see 4 dots in my view. Also When using reticle looks cleaner on top of the “i” than in a rear notch which it does not fit in. And Less tunnel vision without rear notch.

They made the tritium brighter. I always wanted more radioactive material in my gun. 😁

    • @RickyJr46

When tritium (hydrogen-3) decays it emits a low-energy beta particle which is too weak to even penetrate the glass capsule it's contained in.

At 3 yards, yeah that huge front sight is precise. Any farther and obscuration becomes an issue same for using something like an 8 MOA red dot. Fast but not good for long range.

Well, the test I did at 25 yards as outlined by the video shows different. Same group size (sub 2") as combat notch and posts... - TM
