    Groot speaks in his own language in the end but as viewers we understand him for the first time because we are now part of the family too. Just like Gamora earlier. That was confirmed by James Gunn. One of the many beautiful little ideas that are sprinkled throughout the entire film.

    One thing that comic readers are used to with teams is a rotating roster. The Guardians aren't broken up, they just have a new lineup, that's all. Think of superhero teams like sports teams. The all time greats will always be associated with the team and thought of as part of it, but eventually they'll retire, or get traded or whatever. Same with super hero teams in the comics. In the comics, the only member of the original 1960s/70s vintage team that even appears as a regular character in the movies is Yondu, for example. The movie team is mostly based on the roster from 2008.

    The red alien making portals like Doctor Strange is based on a character from comics who is a sorceror. The original incarnation of the Guardians of the Galaxy came from the 31st century, and this character, Krugarr, is the Sorceror Supreme of that time period. The MCU character may not have that exact story, but he's visually the same and certainly seems to have sorcerous abilities.

    This Gamora is the alternate past Gamora that came forward into the future with Thanos in End Game.

  • @Sand420
    @Sand420 Год назад +3

    So yeah the Gamora we see in this film is the one from the 2014 timeline War Machine and Nebula travelled to in Endgame so they could collect the Orb, containment unit for the Power Stone. Then Thano's found out about 2023 Nebula travelling back and time, captured and replaced her with 2014 Nebula who arrived back to 2023 with the Avengers. The Avengers reversed the snap but 2014 Nebula secretly allowed Thano and his ship through the time travel device unleashing 2014 Thano his followers and army into 2023. This also brought 2014 Gamora into 2023 where she teamed up with 2023 Nebula leading to the death of 2014 Nebula and by the end of the film 2014 Thano and his army were all turned to dust.
    2014 Gamora never got to meet Peter or the other members of the Guardians, Peter was also knocked out by War Machine so I wonder how that changes things in that timeline. So yeah she's pretty much a Variant of Gamora who like Loki in Endgame branched off from her Prime Universe counterpart who went on to meet Peter and join the Avengers. Only difference is the Avengers were meant to go back in time and so all these events don't cause any branches, besides Loki.

    • @VerowakReacts

    The Ravager who looks like a red naga is named Krugarr - he's a sorcerer.
    Doctor Strange takes him on as an apprentice and bestows upon him the rank of Sorcerer Supreme, when Strange himself becomes the new Ancient One.
    A VERY VERY important thing to understand is that the Ravagers are actually the ORIGINAL Guardians Of The Galaxy team, AKA Guardians 3000.
    The Guardians Of The Galaxy were originally a team from the far future, around the year 3000.
    So when Strange trains Krugarr it's far in the future.
    The Guardians Of The Galaxy were eventually "rebooted" in the comics as a modern day "prequel" team to the original Guardians 3000.
    The modern day prequel team turned out to be super popular, and THEY are what got adapted into the MCU team.
    Meanwhile, the original Guardians (Starhawk (Stallone), Yondu, Krugarr (red snake wizard), Martinex (the crystal guy), Charlie-27(the huge guy), Aleta (Michelle Yeoh), and Mainframe (talking robot head)) were adapted as the Ravagers.
    Mainframe, the talking robot head (played by Miley Cyrus in Guardians 2, and Tara Strong in Guardians 3), is actually a version of The Vision from the year 3000.
    HOPEFULLY, with this Guardians team sort of retired, we get to see the Ravagers step up as main characters and become the Guardians 3000 team.
    More importantly, I hope we get more of Rocket, Cosmo, and Knowhere.
    I really want to see Knowhere continue to grow and evolve, and I could just watch like a whole series of Cosmo's adventures (it'd be a GREAT excuse to introduce the Animal Avengers AKA Pet Avengers).

      @VerowakReacts  Год назад +1

      I'm very curious to see where the MCU will go, because obviously there are a LOT of things that are introduced in the comics, and I'm guessing the majority we'll never really see in the movies/tv series. Rocket loses Lyla, Teefs and Floor and became a bounty hunter with Groot.
    Drax loses his family to Thanos and we don't know what he did but he was in the prison in GOTG1.
    Mantis served Ego but spilled the beans when she met the Guardians, and then Ego dies.

    As an aside, it was really nice to see the softer side of Nebula and for her to learn more about what it means to be kind to her friends. It makes sense that she was shouting and putting them down a lot at first because that's all she knew of what "love" was from the only "family" she had before: Thanos. Of course that would mess you up.

    My first encounter with Counter-Earth was funny enough the Spider-Man Unlimited (1999) cartoon. Pretty much another Earth is found on the far side of the Sun so the world decides to send someone to check it out. That person is John Jameson the son of John Jonah Jameson and a prominent astronaut.
    Spider-Man attempts to stop Venom and Carnage from boarding the shuttlecraft. They launch off and Spider-Man is blamed for losing contact with Jameson by J. Jonah Jameson. Spider-Man becomes a target of persecution by the media and the public at large, with a bounty placed on his head.
    Spider-Man then borrows nanotechnology from Reed Richards to design a new suit that incorporates built in webshooters, stealth technology and anti-symbiote sonic weaponry. Making his way to Counter-Earth after persuading an attacking Nick Fury to let him rescue Jameson.
    Peter then lands in a very high tech futuristic looking New York City but instead of humans there's the Beastials, hybrids of animal and humanoid created by the High Evolutionary just like this film. Humans do exist here but are the second-class minority with many of them being freedom fighters.
    There's also really cool counter-Earth versions of Spider-Man characters like Green Goblin, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter and Electro. The Green Gobin of Counter-Earth is a good person though seen as a hero so he actually teams up with Spider-Man
    Overall it's a very odd change of pace from the 1990s Spider-Man Animated Series with this show acting as a loose sequel to that show. But it's one of the early examples of Counter-Earth being shown in any media outside of the comics.
    If you look up *Spider-Man Unlimited Intro (1080p HD)* you can see the intro for the show and how funky and unique it was for the time.

    About Gamorra, the present day Gamora died when Thanos threw her off the mountain in Infinity War, to get the Soul stone. That Gamora is gone. In Endgame, however, when The Hulk snaps to undo Thanos' snap, the "2014" (or whenever) is brought back, without any memory of the events that transpired through Guardians 1 and 2, and obviously it carries on to Guardians 3 as we see here.

    • @timsmith8489
      @timsmith8489 Год назад

      Past Gamora doesn't come back in Hulk's snap. Present Nebula gets captured by Thanos in the past when she and Falcon go back for one of the stones. Past Nebula takes her place and uses Present Nebula's Pym particle and quantum travel equipment to come to the present and pretends to be Present Nebula. After Hulk's snap, Past posing as Present Nebula uses the quantum travel thingy to bring past Thanos' ship to the present, bring with it past Thanos, past Gamora, the Present Nebula (who is still a prisoner). So now the present contains one Gamora (from the past before she met the Guardians), and two Nebulas. Present Nebula kills Past Nebula, Gamora switches sides, and The Avengers and friends defeat past Thanos with him getting dusted in Stark's snap.
      That leaves our timeline with Past Gamora and Present Nebula.

The timeline that Thanos and Gamora came from in Endgame didn't get put back the way it was, it just doesn't have a Thanos (dead), a Nebula (dead), or a Gamora (stayed in the main MCU universe and joined the Ravagers) anymore.

Since Infinity War and Endgame Nebula has had the best character growth and development since she’s been more sensitive towards the other Guardians especially Rocket (since surviving the snap/dusting from Thanos) even though she still maintains her personal snarl and attitude making her even more of a badass which is why she’s one of my favorites of the Guardians after Rocket and Groot. This is the second best of the trilogy after the first. The flashbacks with Rocket are heartbreaking and it has the best villain of the Guardians trilogy, but there's something that feels off with everything else. The humour misses more often than it hits and feels more out of place compared to the first two movies (especially given the tone of the rest of the movie), the music doesn't work as well as it did before (even though two of my favourite songs are on the soundtrack), and some of the characters feel like unnecessary additions who didn't really get anything to do.

I feel like Marvel is struggling, and I'm hoping that this movie makes way for better movies for the MCU. It's not perfect, but the villain and Rocket are pretty great!

      @@VerowakReacts I completely agree about the current state of the MCU, but the recent announcements about the where the franchise is headed has me hopeful for the future.
