Alright yall… this is a flight video. Literally not political whatsoever. Whatever stance you’ve got, that’s not what we are here for. We are simply here to look at an airline near the conflict region. Safe travels yall. Stay safe
That's the problem with you Yanks
We've got to respect and bow down to everything American
But you don't give a shit about other countries feelings
I enjoyed your video. It's unfortunate though that facts, our reality & our culture have become triggering & political
Great video. Royal Jordanian don’t get a huge amount of coverage, so this was fascinating. Nice job.
Thanks! I was always curious
Nailed it once again Patrick, your travels are envious but enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks man!
Flying on this exact flight back to Detroit from Beirut ❤️
Incredible! Safe travels! Here's to hoping for that MEA service in the future!
@@PatrickSheaAviation Thank you!! Hopefully MEA starts a route similar to this! Love your vids btw
Your videos are by far my favorite. I have learned a lot about the world and who flies where and when and who has owned or owns them. So fascinating. Thanks 😊🎉
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I lived in Amman from 1981-1985 when my dad flew for Alia (Royal Jordanian now). Watching this video gives me very very fond memories of flying from Amman to London or New York. Always with the perk of First Class bc of my dad's position as Captain on Royal Flights. iykyk.
Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks!
All information i need was included and Very useful on your reviews, thank you
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Very nice meal service. Kuddos for your nice review
I finally found a actual review about royal Jordanian thank you so much 🙏
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent as always Patrick - I took RJ in 2019 from AMM to JFK and really enjoyed it.
Awesome!
Great video. Very informative thank you
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your nice travels.😊😊
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
@@PatrickSheaAviation You are welcome. ☺
Amazing video!!
Great video on a "not your typical route" . Ever Forward Patrick with your videos.
Thanks man!
great detailed video...
You should be the first person to review the brand new Arkiapremium product from Tel Aviv to Colombo Sri Lanka.
Yes, and Jordan is actually beautiful, service is very good too as well as the food. And I did have the chance to fly Royal Jordanian and loved it.
I do wish I got to see the country more! I’ve heard great things about Jordan. Only got a day in Amman on this journey
Nice review, KSA!
Interesting route choice Patrick
It is an attractive paint scheme. I'd love to add a Royal Jordanian 787 to my 1:200 scale diecast metal collection.
They do have a fun unique livery! Would look great in 1:200!
I Havent Experience Royal Jordanian.Great Video And Info
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
heyyy glad u enjoyed jordan just a fun fact the pizza in the lounge is called manaaesh which is basically a dough with either cheeze or zaatar ontop usually eaten for breakfast
Good to know. Thanks!
nice review! I tried rj business class to detroit before, and to chicago, but there wasn’t the mattress service shown in your video. seems like its new, same with the mid flight snack menu. great video overall!
It may be new. You do have to ask for the mattress pad however. It’s not in the normal bedding. Still a wonderful touch!
I love the livery
Nice video. Thanks for sharing . I like RJ, a little expensive for the business class overall I think its worth it
Yea… it was comfy at least. And if you’re connecting, it’s much better of a price
nice report.there aren't many reviews of this airline
Such and interesting route you flew Patrick, I wish you could have shown some more landscapes of the Hashemite Kingdom, a country I would fancy to visit. And about the Pistachio, it is typical on the Arab cuisine. Nice one yet again Patrick...cheers
Thanks man. Love the pistachios! Ate a ton of them by the end of it
jolly good! Patrick@@PatrickSheaAviation
RJ is rarely featured on RUclips. Your review is very detailed and fair. Do you have any plans to review LOT? From Warsaw, they fly to NYC, Chicago, and LA.
I do have some plans although nothing booked officially yet. Always good to have different ways to get home with new airlines
787 beautiful
Arabic pizza is called manoosh one with zataar spices the other labneh cheese. They’re more a breakfast food.
The big 3 don’t fly to Detroit because it’s a family and friends route filling cheaper economy seats but not enough business or first seats to add profit. Another great video review. Many thanks.
33:41 RIP cone
i love this guy's content love from Nigeria
Thanks man!
Thank you for the info, I’m due to fly to Bangkok in a month via Royal Jordanian business class but I never heard about this airline before. I did some research but there were less vdo to watch til I came across your channel. I have almost 12 hours layover at the queen alia airport and was worried what’s to do there while waiting. Well, now I I now. Thanks for the great info.
Awesome! Enjoy your flight!
12 hours would be enough if you decided to visit Amman..
The Pizza is manakesh if I am not mistaken, though they have cut it like a pizza. Ususally it is served whole.
Good to know! thanks!
yes it is manakeesh
Love the content you should do the soon to be inaugurated air peace flight from Lagos to Gatwick operated by Norse
I was looking into that one. I’ve been trying to fly with Air Peace for a couple years now and have been screwed over every time. I’m hoping that it will eventually work out
@@PatrickSheaAviation all the best!
Another unsung airline getting their proper shoutout via Patrick! Interesting lounge layout at QAIA. Reached my oneworld Sapphire level w/ RJ 2 years ago without having set foot inside their aircraft. I've actually earned one or two upgrade coupons because of that, but they're probably expired now.
Ha you should try and use them! Thanks man!
Thanks Patrick for another great vlog.
Thanks man. Glad you liked it
Are the aircraft windows tinted? There was a yellow tinge to the view.
Yea… the 787 windows add a weird filter to the world. I’m not a huge fan of them
Love the airport architecture
Agree! It’s incredible!
thank you for saying Palestine and I'm really proud of our Jordanian carrier
Welcome to your second home, jordan
Happy St Patty's Day🍀
Thanks bro!
Actually you can choose from the trolley several appetizers and you can choose multiple mains as well, you're not limited to just one of each.
That's great to know for next time!
It's as if you never left the middle east as Detroit looks like Dubai 28:28 LOL. Was this due to the quality of the light coming through the window, or did you add a filter to the camera? Great report btw.
Ha… the 787 windows tend to add this yellow-ish filter on it all. Kinda sucks, but I was just glad they weren’t locked full dimmed
I love that lounge in Amman - and you can get Jordanian wine, which is surprisingly good, especially when served by a charming and funny barmaid. I thought Royal Jordanian were great - routing Qatar-Amman-London - I particularly liked the monogrammed cutlery and crockery, and the trolley buffet service. Jordan is also a wonderful country and by far the most stable in the region. Well worth a visit.
Totally agree! I thoroughly enjoyed the RJ experience!
Is all the food complimentary? What abt the drinks? I can’t find any information on what’s complimentary and what’s not.
Yup. All included with the cost of the ticket
Nice airport, nice lounge. 2-2-2 in business class is a no go for me. I only will go business class if the cabin is 1-2-1.
Yea, I’m hoping the new fleet will shift to that
Just flew it from Amman to Bangkok early this month….the shower in the lounge wasn’t available…turned out I went to plaza premium and the shower is free for the CC I used…
Lounge was big though…
Your inflight meal looked much better than mine!!! both dinner and breakfast for me were …😢I couldn’t even complete half of it… the seat…. Almost no any storage space🤣
But… the price for this route is really competitive.
Great stuff. Interesting about the plaza premium lounge
Jordan to Detroit?? whodda thunk eh - really dig the ceiling design in this airport (something i'm starting pay attention more about airports) "just not the type of pizza i'm used to" 🤣'different but good' oh for fork's sake, were you a flight forker risk? the 9.5 yrs in service is really showing in the cabin but the air vents make up for it i guess. is that green filter the plane's window? ironically today being St Patrick's Day makes for an inadvertent nod. meal service looks good, and the bedding seems to have earned this product your 'ultimate luxury' title. your mentioned Tronna twice!
Ha! The windows gave a weird tint to just about everything, but does work for Paddy’s day. I guess!
Thanks for another excellent review . I don't think I'll ever be in Jordan but Detroit really hit the jackpot with their airport while Cleveland is third rate
Yea that Cleveland airport kinda suffered when Continental disappeared
Great video!!! I see others triggered in the comments; more triggering is the 2-2-2 setup nowadays HAH!
That 2-2-2 setup sucks for sure. I’m hoping the 787-9s will bring an end to that
Correction:It’s Israel
Ha, I learned something new -- never would have thought Amman-Detroit was a route with the airline. Cool!
Its the area of greatest concentration of middle eastern heritage people in the US.
Exactly. Love it!
First 🎉Nice review
Patrick there is one reason why it's popular it has to do with the Palestinian population from the West Bank in Detroit area because they can simply fly to Aman Queen Alia airport from DTW then bus Aman to the West Bank. For the flight itself this will get tight security if Rep Tlaib decides to fly RJ DTW-AMN then bus AMN to the West Bank
That’s all true. The Detroit suburbs have a large West Bank population, and this is one of the easiest ways for them to get home.
Another great and thorough review - what would prevent me from booking RJA 787 is ths same as other long haul 787s - the crew control your view / window. When I pay a heap of money to get a window seat in business class, I want to look out of the window. I don't care if it's night outside, I like to see whats down there. So that would be a big no for me. I'd choose an aircraft type with window blinds that are user operated. I grant that sometimes the crew will ask that you close your blind in time zone transitions, but that is not as overarching as them controlling what you see.
Also the 2 - 2 configuration is naff. Good job they had a great mattress topper and decent food - and a competitive flight because otherwise they look disappointing.
Yea the windows and 2-2 setup kinda suck, but other than that the product was great! With the 787-9s arriving soon, we should see a 1-2-1 setup. If they keep everything how it is, I’d love to see what it turns into
Amman-JFK ❤
Flown this route multiple times, it definitely is very convenient direct flight to the middle east from DTW and the only middle eastern airline that serves the biggest Arab American population in the USA.
Totally! I can imagine it being super useful. I just wonder why other middle eastern carriers haven’t begun Detroit service
@@PatrickSheaAviation i question it too honestly. Especially with Delta having a huge base here in DTW they would benefit off of direct flights to the Middle East. Besides that i love your videos keep on doing the amazing work🔥
Did you sleep on the plane, if so, how many hours, you don't sleep on the plane, even though it's a daytime flight and is that your 1st time flying Royal Jordanian and how is it?
I did sleep but wasn’t planning on it. It was just too comfy. Slept for about 4 hours
I see.
33:02, I agree with you, it's similar to China airlines 1st and business class lounge, this time, the shower is free, however, you have to pay to use the towel and it's so annoying. Come on China airlines and Royal Jordanian, we want to use the shower and get towels for free inside the lounge. All other lounges in Asia, Oceania and Europe are free to use the shower and provide towel inside the lounge.
Saying they fly to Palestine is like saying United flies to the Virreinato de la Nueva España 🇪🇸…
Nah more what I mean is that there’s a huge West Bank population in Detroit’s area, they fly into Amman and drive from there. The ones I know are super grateful for this route for that reason
Did they actually plate your meal and serve it to you FROM the trolly? You don't see that type of service these days so, well done Royal Jordanian!!
On Turkish Airlines they do that too
They did. It was great! The first dish for example, they had the fish kept warm, then added the rice and sauce to the plate. Incredible touch!
WOW very brave to travel to that part of the world right now!
Honestly Amman felt super safe and I really enjoyed my time there
RJ soon they will send their Dreamliner's for renovations..
Tomorrow night, I am flying my 1st flight in 2024 on United to Seattle via San Francisco for the 1st time and then rent a car to cross the border to Vancouver, Canada for the 1st time for less than 1 week vacation.
That’s awesome! Enjoy the journey!
Thanks. Greetings from Honolulu, Hawaii.
I detest when airlines lock the window control function. That’s a hard no from me. I won’t use RJ.
It totally sucks. Especially on an all day time flight! That, combined with the weird yellow filter, makes me not a fan of the 787 windows
9.975 🥳
Thanks man!
Why are the windows yellow?
It’s the tint by the 787 windows. The 787-8 is especially bad
@@PatrickSheaAviation does it look better in real life because I need to get those insta pics on my flight lmao
Hi Patrick
Thank you for another awesome flight report.
Surprised that you had to pay for Shower in a Lounge?...that's new to us..
Due to stability and safety, I will not fly specially to Amman to transit to another country.
From the DTW arrival, looks like the airport is very far from Detroit Downtown...
This is an eye opening report for me...
Thanks man! The airport isn’t too far from town, and there are plenty of ways to get between the two places
If only you had gone 2 days later you would have been on a special livery.
Amman to Detroit long haul flights
the Pizza is not pizza.... it is Manakish... one with Za'ater and one with Akkawi cheese :)
Not really a fan of the 2-2-2 configuration 😅
Yea it’s not great, but it’s somewhat normal on most 787-8s
Can you please review El Al business class
Not sure Patrick is a fan of the state of Israel.
"El A-partheid" Airline? 😁 Sorry, I had to! The name was begging for it.
For the record, flying that airline is ... anxiety inducing, and Israelis are yet to master costumer service (or any kind of social courtesy tbh).
@@Sayitlikitiz101 I flew them in July last year from Johannesburg South Africa and was blown away! The meal was great, crew was very friendly and the seats were very comfortable, the security was strict but I mean it makes sense why they have to be. Would definitely recommend!
NO CHANCE! I won’t either! I am Aviaiton reviewer as well
@@sohaibflight El Al wouldn't let terrorists like you anywhere near their airplanes, so you may as well not bother.
Why didn’t you tell us you where in Jordan
It was a quick two day visit to Amman
Very poor that the windows were locked, specially on day flight
Yea it sucks! I mean I get that it’s easier for people to sleep when it’s like that, but I feel like at the very least they could lock it half way. That, combined with the weird filter, makes me choose window shades over this style
Agree
You could say through Palestine (the west bank) AND Israel.
They both can coexist next to each other. Bethlehem can perfectly be called Palestine, and Tel Aviv, ISRAEL.
Exactly, he just said Palestine which is what I think causes the outrage. Made it seem like he was implying Israel doesn't exist.
But look, if you are looking to RUclips travel vloggers to affirm your political beliefs, you should probably reassess your beliefs.
Hard product underwhelming. Food and wine lovely. Please show more economy. Thanks!
Charging for the shower is probably due to water scarcity in that region. I've only seen Jordan from the Israhell side of the Dead Sea. Amman is on my bucket list; happy to know there is a direct flight from Detroit.
Why is Israel hell
Please explain oh ignorant person
That’s interesting, but would make sense I guess
Royal Jordanian,, we will be collecting headsets 45 mins before arrival American, we see you collecting headsets. 45 mins before arrival and raise you collecting headsets 90 mins before landing and shaming the 2 passengers that haven’t handed them in by PA multiple times.
You earned respect today ❤
Thanks man
Nice little airline, but poor food presentation, not as polished as Qatar or Emirates.... but nice video
Maybe not, but Qatar and Emirates don't prepare the dishes fresh for you at your seat. That was an incredible touch
Saying "around Palestine" instead of around Palestine AND Israel was an odd choice of words concidering the fact that Israel controls the part of the coastline Royal Jordanian flies above, good video except for that
That lack of window control is one reason we never have, and never will fly on the 787. The other reason... it's a Boeing, and until they stop collecting safety squawks from the FAA, NYSB, other Nation's safety agencies, customers, et al. If it's Boeing, We ain't going.
Tel Aviv is in Israel, Patrick.
Fantastic view of Palestine! Unfortunately the war is causing unhumane havoc to Palestine. Hopefully after the war, youll be able to visit Palestine and experience the fantastic and ancient culture.
Hamas started it, Hamas is responsible for civilians going hungry.
@@janellek21 Both are in the wrong, Israel is now in the bigger wrong for breaking their promise and still continuing to kill innocent lives. Hamas is also in the wrong for not helping citizens properly, but where will the citizens go? At first, I believed both were in the equal wrong, but now... Israel is causing genocide and enjoying killing innocent lives .

Reported for misinformation and unsubscribed
Who cares?
This is just basic luxury, stop overreacting, to some people even basic luxury seems ultra luxury. Don't judge people like that. Even Emirates is basic luxury to me
It’s more than the seat setup. The check in lounge, the crown lounge, the setup of meal services, the bedding. All that is top tier. If they upgrade the seats with new aircraft, it’s one of the world’s best
