- Watch this video to see what it’s like to fly with United Airlines on 787 Dreamliner to Amman, Jordan!
United Airlines has announced more new routes to fascinating destinations than any other US airline and I booked a ticket on the first of these flights. I traveled in United Airlines First Class “Polaris” from Washington Dulles Airport to Amman, Jordan.
You’ll see everything, from the incredible Polaris Lounge in Washington to the epic party the airline hosted at the gate. You’ll see the United Airlines First Class Polaris Seat, the United Airlines First Class food and service, not to mention the United Airlines Inflight Entertainment.
You’ll even get the highlights of the United Airlines Inaugural Flight festivities. From the party to the food to the giveaways and even some incredible Jordanian Dancing!
No doubt about it, United Airlines did this right!
But, best of all, I had the chance to meet up in Petra with my friend and fellow RUclipsr, Dennis Bunnik. Check out his channel here:

Hey mate, so good catching up with you after such a long time. Great video, looked like a sensational flight.
So great to see you in three dimensions and talk rubbish. See you soon!!
Glad you guys are enjoying your time in Jordan! If you still have some time head up north to the city of Irbid, a very vibrant city in Jordan and the second largest city. Sea of Galilee is not far from the city center, you can also go there an enjoy some fascinating views from restaurants overlooking the opposing territories of Syria and the Golan heights.
Great advice, Dennis. It is far too easy to focus on taking photos etc, and completely miss the magic of the moment.
I’ve been waiting to see you two connect back up.

Not sure if I have commented on this before, but whenever there is something wrong/negative, Jeb doesn't come off as whiny. Nonstop Dan and Trekk Trendy on the other hand.....maybe it's an American thing? Cheers to a great review!
Oh no my friend. Americans are known for complaining. It’s just Jeb.
@@monkeybusinessasusuall5467I agree with you 100%. And Americans have so much more than so many other countries- there are so many third world countries. 🥲
@@monkeybusinessasusuall5467the whiniest aviation youtubers I've seen are non-americans
787 windows are amazing. They're huge and allow you to look out of them without introducing a ridiculous amount of light to the rest of the cabin.
But the crew can lock the controls.
Indeed, is my favorite of any plane
I agree with @canadian aviator. Crew locking of the controls sucks. I avoid the 787 when possible. I like the lower cabin altitude but it's honestly not av geek friendly. I fly to be able to see outside. I appreciate not introducing lots of extra light into the cabin, but I can't really see that well if they're locked in the darkest mode.
@@caseydorn3309 I have never had an attendant refuse when I’ve asked them to allow me to control my own shades. Why would they?
@@caseydorn3309 you can ask the crews to unlock the window for you. You're entitled to use the function but you be more considerate to others when you brightens it up.
When you and Dennis are together, I always start laughing!!!!!
The Dreamliner windows are a hit or miss. Personally, I quite like them, and I see the technology getting improved down the road. When flight attendants take full control and dim the whole cabin, it's dark enough. I don't understand the part about it not being bright enough though.
Airlines definitely love them, so much so that Airbus plans to add them to future A350 aircraft.
The moment you mentioned that you were gonna catch up with an old buddy.... I figured it would be Dennis Bunnik !
"Partners in Crime"..... LoL. 2 of the best youtubers out there let loose in Aaman !.
You guys make travel so much fun.
The plane looked pretty good too, and steak for brekkie, I think that made up for no chicken the night before.
Excellent guide to the United 787-10. I flew on a United 777-200ER in Polaris a couple weeks ago and had a similar experience… except the IFE crashed a couple times and was gone for good. United’s meal service is not the worst and far from the best. Luckily, food quality in the Polaris lounge is very good. Better to eat there than on the plane, if you can.
If you have been inconvenienced on the flight no matter what's the cause is, you're entitled to some form of compensation. All the crews have got company issues iphone and all of them are able to issue you compensations from their device. Do not be hesitated to ask for it if you're genuinely being inconvenienced like you said. You can choose between travel credit or mileage if you're a mileage plus member.

I was the inaugural JetBlue flight to London last year (2021) and sat next to a couple who had ‘accidentally stumbled’ on to the flight. The tickets had been bought by them or their family weeks in advance and they picked the flight because of price and time. I’m not even sure they’d flown JetBlue before!
I think it is safe to say they will never forget that flight. From the cheering on takeoff and landing, to all of the pre-flight excitement at the gate and numerous reminders this was not an originally TATL flight, I think they were thrilled! (Or at least I hope so..) We did manage to get some sleep too, which I was appreciative of.
Nice!! Loved seeing Dennis. Glad to see him out and about again.
Personally, I love the electronic window shading on the 787. Still wowed by the technology and love being able to see even if dark.
I wish one day all of us who are watching and dreaming about traveling can actually travel more to learn about different cultures and end hate in this loving journey of life.
a week in Jordan and then a week in Israel fall 2018... Petra is amazing as was the people. usually watch your train videos but had to see a glimpse of Petra. thanks for the memories.
Jeb and Dennis what a treat! As a Jordanian living in DC I'll be taking this flight in July and excited !
AHH! Love seeing you both together in Jordan! Glad Dennis is starting to do more videos!!
Great to see the world opening up! I also don't really see the need for doors. I prefer that the flight attendants can see that my glass is getting low so that it can be filled. 😆 And boo electronic widow shades!
Thanks for another great video Jeb, great to see you very excited for your trip, now I always look out for the Jeb score!
Awesome video!!! Looked like a great time and glad to see new routes.
I miss the 747 , but the 787 is an amazing machine .
Have fun on this awesome trip. Safe flying ✈️✈️✈️
Amazing video Jeb. Love your videos and your content is so on point. Love seeing you and Suzanne traveling together. Keep traveling safe and keep posting this amazing content.
What an awesome adventure!!! I loved the dancers!!! I subscribe to a few traveler videos and you are, by far my favorite!! You are honest and truthful without being harsh or critical. ( I am a former flight attendant and people can get very critical about things out of our, or the airlines control). Keep bringing us your adventures!!
This was one of your best reviews to date! You did not over explain, and showed the facts and let the video show for itself. Made me a Jeb fan all over again!
It's great to see you and Dennis back together again and in such a spectacular location. Amman and Petra are stunning.
How I LOVE those pillows!! The best in the air and in land
Great video, your excitement was contagious! Nothing better than an inaugural. I picked up and related to your IFE comment that the flight tracker was far more entertaining. I personally couldn’t agree more! Cheers
Awesome videoJeb it looks like an incredible flight thanks for this one👍👍👍😀
Jeb, thank you for the excellent video. I believe this is my first time commenting on your videos. I have watch many of them and they are all great. I do not have any experience flying United Polaris Business Class as I most often fly to Southeast Asia using Delta or Singapore Airlines. Next month I will be traveling to Singapore on United in the Polaris Business Class. I am so excited about visiting the lounge in SFO and experiencing the 787-900 Dreamliner. Please continue the excellent work on your videos. It it truly appreciated and so helpful in planning trips.
Best to you!!
Tim
I was so glad you featured this flight. I've been to Jordan twice and it's a great country (even beyond Petra), there's so much to see. I hope this video with peak peoples interest in going there.
You're voice is so calming thank you for that because it helps my anxiety alot
This looks spectacular! I would love to fly on a inaugural flight one day!
I love the 787 (my favorite aircraft!) and their windows.
Jeff, congratulations, inaugural flight, good video, I'm sure you enjoy from start to finish.
What a great video.
I really liked it.
Keep it up.
IAD Is my favourite airport next to YTZ of course! Your excitement is palpable and contagious! Jordan is somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit. Stellar review and video as per Mr.!
So very good to see you 2 together again!!!😀🙌🏻
Was waiting for this ever since we met at Dulles! Awesome to meet you, your one of my biggest fans! Great video as always Jeb!
I found you after ages, I love your videos still to this day!!
Love your upbeat presentation! ❤️
How very nice to visit the Kingdom of Jordan this beautiful country can easily double as the modern Palestine and then absorb about 5 million additional Palestinians within its borders thank you very much and have a great evening 🤗🤗
Welcome to Amman, was quite surprised to see that you're visiting my city!
Fantastic video, thanks a zillion sir for this lovely piece
Love it keep it up!
787 windows = no
this was a great video
I really enjoyed this video. I'm a lifelong United fun, and it is great to be able to learn about their new routes.
If you think united is good you really ought to try the real international flag ship air carriers
That was amazing and it was great to see Dennis!😸
You are my favorite travel blogger … thank you for showing up Petra.
I love the 787 window. Don't matter is the crew dimmed or not. Is my favorite one
Thank you very much, Jeb, for sharing your five Stars Video with us.
Nice introduction, I really like to fly with United although they cancelled a lot of flight thru the pandemic, looking forward to travel more in the future
I always enjoy watching your videos Jeb, well done
Great video Jeb and also great to see Dennis!
This is why I love being a United 1K they have then best routes!!!
But the worst airline
@@maxsaviation9512 personal preference. Personally they’ve saved the day for me multiple times and treat me very well. United and their partners are the best option for me to get Germany and Turkey
As soon be an United flight attendant this makes me so happy
Wow Jordan looks awesome
Great video - thanks!
In my opinion l love the 787 dimming control
Hey I love your videos I was wondering if you will fly to Palma de Mallorca bcouse I come from there and I was wandering if united would get it right
Great watch, as in timepiece!
As a Jordanian my self I can insure you that we welcome u with open arms
Just don’t welcome United airlines one of the worlds worst airlines
Wow! That looks super fun!
Few feelings of excitement parallel to that of when it's time for the Jeb Score
Always thought an inaugural flight would be fun but never caught one.Great upload.
I love the dimming control, for someone like myself who is highly light and sun sensitive I get to control what light (and hopefully UV) gets in and still have some kind of a view, all be it a bit blue!
"Its like better than soup should be"-- Jeb, I say that about your videos... Great video!!!!!!!!
Great video! Awesome and positive review!
Great video, thanks for sharing
United is on a roll!!!
You and Dennis is GOLD!!!!!
Enjoy your travels bro
Jeb as always a fantastic vlog !
Cannot wait to fly
I love the 787 window dimmers.
Great video, Jeb! Jordan has been on my bucket list for a long time now, thank god we have another way other than RJ.
Hey Jeb, nice video! You’re my favorite flight review RUclipsr, because you’re so positive, and happy! Thanks for the GREAT entertainment!!!
Brilliant jeb, just brilliant
I agree with the statement about the 787 windows. When I flew on one, with windows did not go fully dark and it had a weird purple tint to it. On the other hand I like the big windows a lot.
Beautiful place
4000th like❤️ love your vids :)
Great video Jeb, as always!
Glad you got to meet up with Dennis!
I love seeing the world reopening and COVID recovery continuing… Also no Suzanne this trip?? 🤔
Always love inaugural flights!
I’ve still yet to try UAL, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner or an inaugural flight so hopefully I’ll do all 3 soon!! Also those 787 windows seem interesting but I prefer electric full blinds like on SWISS, JAL or ANA’s Boeing 777s in their First Class cabins! Also I know that guy!! (Dennis) He rocks as well, you guys are two of my favorite subscribers!
Cheers my friend! 🥂🇺🇸✈️

It’s so cool that you and Dennis are buds
Nice film as always, Jeb. 👏
Jordan is beautiful! And Polaris is the bomb diggity!
I’ve been to Jordan twice, it’s such an interesting place to visit
No checkered shirt in Petra. Looks like your Editor is expanding your wardrobe. Glad you enjoyed the inaugural, thank you for flying United,
2 hansome silver foxes. Petra looks amazing.
Beautiful 😍😍❤️
I ❤ United
Totally agree re the 787 windows. I much prefer the traditional window shade. Also, I really don't like when the FA's just close them all and you have no ability to open them/look out. Otherwise, I think the UA 787's are pretty comfortable to fly on in Polaris, and I agree that the Polaris lounges are probably the best US airline lounges in the states.
Jeb, I really enjoyed your ride on United to my second home country. Jordan is incredible and I hope you and Susan will return. -- JT
Hey Jeb, with all your trips to Dulles, have you ever taken the time to head over to the Udvar-Hazy museum? Lots of awesome planes and spacecraft to see!
@@SKS8080 in Virginia? Good luck with that.
Very nice. Thank you.
You guys got upgraded to a 78X! All those people that got bumped up didn't forget this trip for sure. I fuel UA at another of their hubs and I love to watch these flight reviews. Im glad it turned out well and as long as UA can serve the flying public, I can also put food on my table. I love my job.
I've also flown on the dreamliner with united It was a flight that my dad and my younger brother took a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago And I gotta say t it's a really cool plane I hope I get to have that experience again soon
It was interesting to see.
Awesome channel ❤️
i would luv to travel internationaly like this someday
An excellent video.
As someone who traveled continously for 7 years, I enjoyed the 787's windows. Here's why. I never understood why someone would take the window seat and immediately shut the window. Sure, there are hot days and also periods of time when the sun is shining right through it straight on to everyone. For those times, yes. please shut them. But the folks who close them as soon as they get on a 9 hour flight, at the gate, I've never understood. OK, with that out of the way, yes you are right, even with the monochromatic window set to the darkest, you can still see out of it. I do enjoy looking out of the window when we're on the ground or if something important is happening. These windows do visually allow us to see out but they aren't a problem for heat or the sun beaming in. To this day, I still enjoy my flights on the 787's more so now that the series 9 and 10 have the Premium Plus cabin.
Hi Jeb, can you do a behind the scenes video explaining how you find/book these flights and how you determine your budget for these experiences? Thanks
He is a multi millionaire through family inheritance
@@NoName-fo7mz How do you know
Nice flight report.
A great vlog as usual, Jeb, but - WOW! - the food looked abysmal for an inaugural flight in Polaris class heading to the Middle East. Even though United is US based, how difficult would it have been to spice the chicken or swordfish with traditional Middle Eastern spices and had hummus and pita bread for a side dish? The description of the dishes sound like what you would get from some mid range restaurant in any large city in the US except for, maybe, the Khatta (but you can find that in any foodie city like NYC).
I am glad you got to Petra. That is on my bucket list.
