We are doing several two story ADUs, they are smaller than 1200 but we could design one with you!

Hektman, shoot us an email hello@inspiredADUs.com and tell me where you live. The prices of construction vary considerably based on your geography. In Northern California we tell clients to plan on between $400-700 per square foot. Your backyard also can have an impact on the cost!

Thank you. I am interested in an ADU in my yard. What do you mean by the State "Exempt" 800 SF? Before watching this video, I knew that anything above 750SF will incur significant additional fees.
Everyone has the right to build and 800 sf ADU with out needing to address lot coverage, floor area ration etc. You are correct that if you stay at 750 sf you do no incur Impact Fees. Impact fees are a one time fee paid at the time of permitting. In some areas those fees are +/- $1000 and in other areas they are + $15,000. It is important to call your city/county and ask the fees!
