Wow, this was produced with quality in mind. I'm pleasantly surprised.
Loved the visuals and production quality of this. Keep up the good work!:D
Don't worry, fb will probably say for privacy you need to pay an absurd amount and then everyone will start allowing tracking again
Or just leave the platform
How about Elon Musk coming up with a tweet against FB & upbringing some rival just like He did with Whatsapp V/S Signal!😅 FB is outdated in many terms and Zuck is not gonna succeed with apple things anymore. I use iPhone with iOS 14.5 & I’ve stopped tracking from all the apps! Enjoying it 😍
Best steve jobs quote ever!
@Wall Street. Journal SCAM ⚠️
Mark: "please humans, give us ur privacy. Help on other businesses that advertised with me, and me."
5:00 I would rather pay $1 for an app that never bothers me with ads than get flooded with useless and often unethical ads. Facebook is just desperate and making such hollow claims.
1$ yeah, but how often? Every day? Week? Month? Year?
I’ll pirate or maybe mod the apps to get rid of ads and tracking, but i barely uses any, i’m watching youtube on safari to preserve storage that’s how you know there’s little apps on my home screen, the space is taken by games lol
As someone who grew up with apple products, it blows my mind that they didn’t implement this so much earlier.
for this one particular reason, I will move from Android(after 10 years of having it) to Apple iOS.
Same, I just did
Thanks Tim Cook ❤️ For protecting our Privacy, Full support from India 🇮🇳
how are they protecting ours privacy. This is just way to beat competition. In order to force ad company to pay more to access iPhone.
Hence 90% of Indians use Androids
Lul
@@Waddle_Dee_With_Internet Well, 84.3% of smartphone consumers use androids as their daily driver around the world. Let that sink into your thick head.
If itsn't gonna make profit for them, they'll drop it.
@@ramu992 Apple is not like other companies, They care about people and our choices.
"While Apple claims this update is about privacy, it's about forcing small businesses and developers to charge for apps that were once free..."
Good! *GOOD!* Let's go back to those days posthaste! This trend of "free, ad supported services" has been a devils bargain on our society that we've just now awakened to the terrible, terrible price. We've realized that we stopped being the consumer and instead became the product.
We can stop this. Together.
Take my money, not my data.

For that move I'll give them a big thumbs up 👍
Let's keep privacy.
Imagine entering into the Facebook server room and you find some hard disk with your name on it. Now after browsing it you find all the data about you for the past 5-7 years. Now read the first word again
I'm beginning to like the Wall Street Journal. This is great journalism without too much bias. Please continue this type of journalism!
I really don't understand why people still use Facebook when there are many other things they can use to keep in touch with others
When everyone else is using it yer forced todo so.. fb messenger aint really my first choice but since everyone else is using it Imma do it ti make life easier

When coming to privacy Apple is probably one of the best in the industry. At least among the FANG.
i love the fact that you made a couple of action figures!!
Now THIS is why I like apple, and screw Facebook, never liked em in the first place
Ok, I may use IG, but Facebook, I dropped that 12 years ago. Yes, I am the 1% who doesn't use F/B and I still can communicate with ppl.
I don't think it's 1% anymore . Most people under say 25 have gotten done with Facebook because it's just not cool anymore
Guess who owns IG
i too drop Facebook 10yr ago
Facebook ads are used on Instagram.
your among the 90% who said the "Ok, I may use IG, but Facebook, I dropped that 12 years ago. Yes, I am the 1% who doesn't use F/B and I still can communicate with ppl.".
When it all boils down to it, it’s about consent. #TeamApple
The bad thing is Facebook is giant. Instagram is Facebook's best subsidiary. And Facebook doesn't give an option to choose whether we can give our data or not, we just have to accept the conditions or the app won't work.
The real el dorado is WhatsApp. Just think about it.

What if they never installed it? Can’t live a healthy life until they download and uninstall garbage?
I removed social media apps 3 yrs ago and i am happy with it.
This video and presentation is just lit 🔥! Thanks WSJ!!
Hey good to see actual journalism /investigating reporting!
Those ads got me on Facebook when I still had it. Most of things I bought that looked like great things to have for convenience or whatever turned into nothing more than junk.
Well explained !

I love the production budget going to the little handcrafted model devices around the dolls!
This isn't a fight. Zuck literally has no punches.
Regardless of how it benefits Apple’s business model, they are helping people have a say in their own privacy - they are adding control where there has not been. That’s a big deal, and its a unique accomplishment this day and age. So the way i see it, Apple deserves whatever bump in revenue it gains from ATT.
The opening is epic 😅

Question is: Why did they have that ad tracking number in the first place? They don't have your best interests for sure.

I quite like this journal video’s presentation, tired of seeing boring or serious sounding news, though the presenter still sounds a bit stiff, love to see her improvement, well done
If Zuckbot does not like Apple, it should just make its own operating system.
Now i know how do Facebook feeds shows what I’m interested in. They are like invading my mind.
Spying 100%
Also they bend the “truth” you so believe in (or you want to believe in). View an article/video and you’ll be fed loads of stuff related about it.
Come on Zuckerberg, time to make your own Facebook smartphone.
They already tried 😂
I dont get this. They say we can choose to stop tracking and then certain apps will just stop you from using it. Your decision on whether they can track you or not, still doesn't give you as much "control" over your privacy as you think it does. What specifically is being shared and how and when to stop it would be so much better and allowing us to still use those apps while refusing to share some of our private information would be appreciated as well.
Finally i have control if i want to share my data or not
I've been a long time android user but this convinced me to switch to apple simply because they actually CARE about privacy!
Same bro I'm sold
lol apple is as shady as FB or google. if you want privacy, go for phone that support open source like iodé os, graphene os or calyx os
@@noobnoob5072 Those are operating systems that are based on Android and not supported across all devices. Apple as a closed ecosystem just provides more control over privacy. They are not perfect but much better then the rest.

Oh so they’re doing the Epic Games thing where they pretend like it’s for small business when really it’s for themselves
Another great video! Great work!!
Not an apple user but I will applaud Mr. Cook for this. If only Google's platform can follow...unfortunately this is highly unlikely as they are motivated by ads.
You can always root your android phone and degoogle it completely.
If that's too hard, you can turn off personalised ads in pretty much any android phone and you can use ad free modded apps like youtube vanced and Spotify mods.
Cmon Tim hit em with a Good Morning!
Apple: We should let users decide if they want to be tracked.
Facebook: You weren’t supposed to do that…
I feel 'compromised' whenever I see and ad about a product that I was looking for online and I hate that feeling and it always made me feel insecure. Thank you Apple for introducing this feature.
Even if this is profiting Apple, it’s definitely the right way to go
Even though I’m a small business owner who is dependent upon social media, I still support this. Our privacy has been all but lost. I’m happy to see a bit of it returning.
Ive been an avid samsung user for years, but THIS is really appealing to me. Enough to put apple back on my radar if they keep it up
Apple side, I’m actually glad of the freature I will still use the app code for the ads cause they actually are good in some point , but to be asked for , is like a super bonus and if some day I change my opinion I can turnoff the code thing…
