Another cool trick exporting to Unreal Engine (or just Exporting) Using the node is you drag all the outputs to the UE/Export Node & an option pops up to add new input. A lot of people didn't know this.

Liked and subbed. Just now getting into gaea and creating landscapes in general in UE. been in UE for years but never tried gaea, I honestly didn’t know there was a free version lol but now I want a paid version haha. So when exporting to UE, png16 is the best (or maybe only?) file format to use? I saw people using .raw in gaea 1.x but all I see is .graw now in 2.0. Hope for more Gaea/ Gaea to unreal videos/tutorials!

exr will always be the highest of resolution but 16 bit png works great, thanks for the SUB! Sorry currently busy with work but making some new videos !

Hi can you talk about the material for that terrain in UE5. I've had some issues importing the Gaea2 exported texture into UE5, I mean it imported but it did not look the same as exported map, I'm not sure if I messed something up when importing or if there is some setting I have to make sure is checked for the albedo map to look the same when imported into UE5. Anyways great content, I've put your channel on all notifications! please more of this stuff! Break down the importing and setting up the terrain etc :)

Thank you for the support! Here’s how you can address the issue with your terrain material uncharted
make surethat your Gaea export settings are correct (16-bit PNG or TIFF for better quality).
In UE5, also check the texture settings, and make sure the compression settings are set to "Default" for color textures. For your material, make sure the texture is plugged into the correct nodes (Albedo into Base Color) adjusting the material properties like roughness or normal intensity to better match what you see in Gaea, it never looks exactly the same, you might need to tweak the scale or UV mapping in UE5, hope this helps. You can join my Forum, as I have a dedicated UE5 space and you can post your questions there, and I’ll definitely create more content on this stay tuned!

@UnchartedWorlds, for importing Gaea2 textures into UE5, make sure the texture's color space is set correctly (sRGB for albedo maps). In UE5, go to the texture's properties and confirm it's set to the right color space. sometimes, textures may appear different if the compression settings/mipmap are not configured properly. I’ll definitely cover more on this topic in future videos. Stay tuned for a breakdown of terrain importing and setup! Thanks for watching and the support!

Does gaea to unreal take a long time to load the terrain for anyone else? Or is just that using a 4k map for height is a lot?
