When Rina Cheema's son Karanbir went off to school in 2017, she had no idea that it would be the last time she would talk to him. Hours later, Karanbir suffered a serious allergic reaction when another pupil threw cheese at him. Severely allergic to dairy, Karanbir went into anaphylactic shock. But after being rushed to the hospital, he tragically never regained consciousness and died ten days later. Rina joins us today to share her heartbreaking story.

Ignorance doesn't equal innocence. That student should have been punished. I'm so over people not taking allergies seriously or saying people should stay home & eat. That's terrible.
He was expelled. That was his punishment
He was expelled, that was his punishment
@@mika4670was he expelled? 😂
Not enough people take allergies serious. Even well meaning people will cause harm at times. Touching others with allergens on your hands can be enough to cause a reaction. Condolences to his family.
I feel terrible for the family. God bless this poor kid.
Beyond sad and so sorry for the family. I can't even imagine the trauma this has caused.
I poor child through something as simple as throwing cheese and unintentionally killed a child. So much love to both of the families Involved. 😢😢😢
Threw it on purpose knowing he was allergic to cheese?
I don't think he was aware he was deathly allergic to cheese
I remember this ): so sad !!
that issue is serious, & its not a game
She's so adorable. heartbreaking. And that little rat who did it knew what he was doing.
People who talk bad about other people's kids should be ashamed and should not have their own kids! You do not even know these people. Who are you to judge? They have not done anything to you!
Can you imagine being the parent of the child responsible!!😳
@@Regina_Phalange__ More like, "OMG, I gave birth to a little prat who killed someone and who was warned in advance that this kid had massive allergy problems."
@@Regina_Phalange__ A lot more realistic than you.
@@davidklein8252bf I doubt many students knew of his allergies unless he told people himself. Only people that would’ve known is the teachers and dinner ladies. I never ever had a teacher make announcements about other ppls allergies during assembly or something when I was at school 🤣 also, even if he DID know, I doubt he intentionally aimed for him. Unless he’s a psycho, no kid is THAT malicious and evil.
Everyone is more than willing to judge any other person who he does not even know and who has never ever done any harm to him / her. This is disgusting.
Nobody who talks disrespectful and even disgusting about another person, the more about little kids, should have the right to raise children.
They are allergic to the nasty chemicals in the food. I talked to my elderly parents and they say that this never happened in their day.
i dont think you have a biology degree nor do your parents
@@GamingKing545 So why were these allergies rarely heard of in the past? Hmmmm...
@@vertugallery7099 people also barely went to the doctor then and there was a shorter life expectancy
@@GamingKing545 Nonsense; I am talking about much more recent history
50 years ago he likely would’ve died as an infant or toddler of “unknown causes.” Chemicals don’t help, for sure, but it’s not just that. Allergies have always existed, we’re learning more now.
You cannot expect every person at a school to take care for your one special needs kid. You cannot expect the world to turn around your kid only. You cannot expect everyone who randomly gets in contact with your child to avoid everything which could with the slightest possibility affect your child. You cannot expect every person at his school to learn by heart the list with don'ts. Shall all the kids be forbidden to consume or even have with them any dairy products and whatever he is allergic against? At a school with hundreds of students he will probably not be the only special child. What if another child is allergic to water? So if a child accidentally spills part of his drink the allergic one could die? To me this cannot be the responsibility of my kid to avoid all theoretically possible risks for any other child at this school. If I eat cheese or nuts and another kid is affected by this it is not my fault. And nobody should tell my child it were responsible for another kid's health issues.
Oh shutup
@@faizakiani6685 Who are you to talk to me this way?
When we can take steps to protect someone, shouldn’t we? That’s where education comes in. Knowing there are those with life threatening allergies around means it’s helpful to be more careful. Saying “not my problem” doesn’t help anyone.
A little kid was expelled from school for throwing a piece of cheese towards another kid? Are you kidding me?
The kid literally died. I get he didn't have any malice behind it but the consequences of his actions need to be punished. No one should be throwing food at people
