    Thanks for explaining the L Style system, seems so complicated could never figure it out, but you made sense of it. After all, is said and done, I must say aside from having Dimplex and some nicer graphics, I prefer the Cosom Fit System, so much simpler and I like that there is a spinning option which is what I use, one Robin Hook in 3+ years. If I do ever want to give L Style a try, at least now I know what to order.

    Only really started playing late Dec start of ‘21 and used L style since Feb/March I think and I personally find them brilliant. As a new player not having to chop and change flights and stems all the time is a great help for consistency. Also I think for new players they may get out off by having to replace normal flights and stems as regularly as you do

    L Style is a great system. I did encounter 1 problem with my first set.
    Sooo, I bought the L Style gear in the full package (Flights, shafts and metal rings) Whenever I unpacked the shafts tho I instantly noticed that the flight insertion part were spread apart pretty widely. This turned into a disaster as I couldn't properly lock the metal champagne ring into the widely spread out L style shafts. Luckily this system works on any other standard nylon shaft soo I actually ended up using my trusty old 30 cents white nylon shafts and I instantly locked them in. Probably had some faulty set of shafts but this was obviously a personal experience. Just know that you don't have to buy the L style shafts and instead can just pick up some random cheap nylon shafts of your desired length.

    Teflon tape from the plumming section of your hardware store does the same thing this gomu does, but costs just a fraction of the price

  • @zoltomar4759
    @zoltomar4759 2 года назад +2

    The 8 flight system is heavy and weighs the dart down? You gotta be pulling my leg. It's a plastic flight and stem, it's literally the lightest setup I've ever tried outside plain flights and nylon stems. If anything I've been scared of trying the l-style because it uses an additional metal champagne cap as part of the system. Sooo many potential parts for L-style to get the "optimum" setup, special thread stem locking system, special stem, special flight, special champagne caps. The bling factor alone is almost worth it...ok I haven't tried the L-style flight/stem combo yet...I'm just trying to talk myself out of it in your comment section. Thanks for the review.

    • @zoltomar4759
      @zoltomar4759 Год назад

      My curiosity got the best of me. L-Style is excellent. The metal champagne caps work like a champ. The gomu work well, but I ultimately went with a roll of Teflon tape.

    Personally the jury is still out for me at the moment with the L - Style. I’ve got some but I’ve probably got enough normal flights to do me until next year anyway. Chances are I’ll get myself a set of the dimple flights and in the smaller size. Got myself 2 full Clic systems at Christmas and I’ve very rarely used them. Anyway really good video Marc 👍🏻🎯

    • @LoveDarts
      @LoveDarts  3 года назад

      Yeah Stewart give them a go. Which Lstyle do you have? I had EZ flights first a while back and wasn’t that fussed about them but also didn’t have a good of an understanding of the benefits. Wasn’t until I started using the champagne caps with dimple flights that I really started to prefer them. Hope this helps!

    Wow you really don't miss much and cover absolutely everything 👌great job mark ...
    After using cosmo setup for around 4 years using the carbon stems I agree just like l style carbon they are expensive but do last ....4 years before my carbon stems died 😫 because the thread got stripped ... I recently tried out the condor axe but not sure I like them that much so I decided to try the standard stem and flight but it wasn't long before I remembered why I stopped using the as I'm breaking stems nilly willy lol but after watching this I'm torn between going back to cosmo or to try out Lstyle ....any advice on what to choose 🤔

    what i found is that the carbon 260 locked straight (intermediate length, around 40mm total stem length excluding the thread) stem weighed a couple hundredth grams MORE than the white plastic 260 straight locked stem. So if you are looking for the lightest, it's not actually the carbon(for straight locked ones). it looks very cool with its stealth matte black finish though, i have a set that ive now owned for 3years, don't see myself breaking it ever, only way you can is if you play on super hard floors and it falls out and breaks that way, but if you aren't such a dummy to play on hard floors, it will actually last you a lifetime. i use 3-4 sets of flights a year, the caps are metal, so i only ever needed one set. it is the most cost effective way on the long run for an average player id say. and it's just such a nice quality item too in my opinion.

    I’ve tried L-Style, Clic, Stealth, Robson, Cosmo and other molded flight systems. I’ve also used the Condor one piece system.
    If you think you like L-Style, then try the Vice system from One80. The vice stems are very inexpensive (less than $1 per set) and come in the 3 common lengths - short, mid and medium. They use metal caps the are far less expensive than L-Style - and these caps are far SMALLER than L-Style caps, reducing deflections off the caps. Finally, the punch for the Vice system is far cheaper than an L-Style punch - so you can use inexpensive regular (vs. molded flights).
    Oh, and try Vibra-Tite VC5 on the threads of the shaft if you don’t want then to loosen. VC5 is basically a thin coat of rubber once dry, and will not come off no matter how many times you take you shafts on/off the dart barrel.

  • @Dave11144
    @Dave11144 5 месяцев назад +1

    My experience with these champagne rings is that they dont hold very good on the original l-style shafts. The metal ones slip all the time, the plastic caps are a little better. In the end, I use Harrows360 and Harrows Supergrip Carbon and they hold much much better. Its a shame really.

      Never had them slip really for me. Always quite nice snug fit! I use the carbon ones.

    I've been using L-Style stuff for 5+ years and still use it to this day but the hard fact is this stuff is darts jewelry. It doesn't perform any better than a standard nylon flight or shaft, and I'm fairly confident the rigidity of the flights leads to a deflection risk that doesn't exist with standard nylon flights even extra rigid/heavy 100+ micron poly flights. Until someone wins a major with these flights I'm going to consider them a bad choice if you're a serious player vs. someone who cares as much about showing off their setup as their game. I'm not hating, I use L-Style shafts, flights and components but it's not ultimately about performance. You can buy 20 sets of normal poly flights for the cost of the cheapest L-Style flights.

    • @LoveDarts
      @LoveDarts  2 года назад +1

      Ryan searle uses Lstyle and lots of county and superleague players do. I agree they used to be more like darts porn/jewellery but now I think more people are coming around to them as a more durable option. Depending on which they use can make it more rigid and deflect but some others are fine tbf. Some valid points of contention and consideration though Caleb. Thanks for the post!

    I personally went with the premium l shaft for the metal pin within the stem and also a bit for the bigger flightguards.
    But in your/this video and some photos of the latest nylon stems of l style, I saw that the bigger flightguards have been adapted on some of the new nylon and normal carbon stems from l style.

    How long do carbon stems last? Many places ive shot in have tile floors. Do the shafts shatter when bounce outs occur?

    • @LoveDarts
      @LoveDarts  3 года назад

      I’ve heard of only two breaking after a significant amount of time. They are much less brittle carbon than the supergrip carbon for example. They feel completely different in my opinion. I’ve not had any shatter on me yet. Regarding tile floors is there anyway you can put something down to soften the blow immediately under the oche? It’s a common issue that many of my friends resolve by leaving a jumper or something on the floor to lessen the blow as most shafts have potential to break from this kind of impact!

    I've tried different brands and different shapes of the flights (from Cosmo v1 to s6) on Dartslive 3 to see the speed difference, and then the result is that: their speed all flies at around the same speed...
    So yeah, flight size matters on steel tip for the entrance angle, but no so much for soft tip

    • @LoveDarts
      @LoveDarts  3 года назад
