The Elbow Run for 2017 - a week of sailing and camping on Lake Diefenbaker in Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 Territory of Turtle Island. This is the fifth year for the event and brought with it some changes.
Thank you for checking out the event. 2018 will be the sixth year and only the second time that boats other than WindRider trimarans will be participating.. The new Mana 24 will be ready in time and will add a new dimension to the event. As a bonus, we are expecting at least one other Wharram catamaran, a Tiki 21, to join us. These designs are designed for camping/sailing and Lake Diefenbaker with its size and shoreline is a perfect place to sail them.
Those are nice looking boats. I have a hobie adventure island trimaran . in Texas. it's a pretty good boat but appears to be a little more budget built compared to your boats. I am going to take mine off shore in the gulf of Mexico this spring. Also I just discovered Wharram cats. I would really like to find a good used one to live aboard and sail around the gulf coast and nearby island area. Cheers from Texas !
Water temperature? I'm not much of a swimmer so can't answer from personal experience although it is not uncommon for sailors in the Run to have a dip to cool off or freshen up.

Is a 2.5hp outboard enough for these loaded down with two people and gear or would you recommend something larger?
Most of the WR17's are running 2.5's without a problem even loaded down with 2 people and gear. I have done it with a 2.5 Suzuki and had no problems.
