What have either you done to warrant such arguments? Yes, he’s speaking with authority and as-if he’s determined the secret to success, but we don’t know his actual character. Maybe, he did laugh at crypto, or maybe he didn’t. Who knows? But neither action discredits his thesis. You can’t posit that his argument is invalid, because he assumes authority, while still leaning on the argument of authority..(I.e. if he did invest in crypto, video games, and what not that would change your perception of his personal success, which again is not what his speech is about). Furthermore, I don’t think his actual claim is that “this single methodology will lead to success”, it’s more “here is this methodology that I’ve found to work a lot of the time for me and most people I’ve observed”. He speaks otherwise, but that’s just general public speaking skills.

Sometimes to achieve your financial or materialistical goals you need to become the worst person you can ever be. I did exactly this, never heard of this guy. Picked a goal, made a checklist that would eventually take 4-5 years for me to complete and it DID change my life.

However, as I delved deeper into it, I realised I needed to learn electronic engineering, programming, and manufacturing. My end goal was sketched out on a sheet of paper, laid out like a mind-map with concrete, small goals. For example, building a computer that could communicate over RF frequencies, write a program that can communicate over a network, manufacture a PCB, just to name a few. The mind-map in its entirety was overwhelming, but the individual tasks were manageable, even if difficult for me at the time. Each task was broken down into prerequisites, like practicing/learning CAD modeling, building a simple circuit using transistors, experimenting with oscilloscopes, and decoding binary signal information. I think having these small goals helped me feel accomplished, even when I was still years away from realizing or even being able to understand my ultimate goal. At that time, I was still ignorant of many of the skills I would need to learn. Each time I completed one I placed big green tick beside it. I still look at the scrawled out mind-map from time to time. Ultimately, my end goal turned out to be impractical. A good product, but too expensive and not commercially viable to make a living from. However, the things I learned along the way landed me a job. I used the product, along with its various design documents and prototypes, as part of my portfolio. This eventually led to my current position, which I consider my dream job, a leading role in a famous company. I approached it as a self-made curriculum with self-directed study and project work.
It’s all about perspective and how you define beating cancer. Sure, you can’t cure it on your own. However, you can maximize the time you have left. You can make your final moments as fulfilling as possible. You can leave behind a legacy for your decedents. You can share your story and ease the struggling of others in the future. You can make an impact on this world. Those are always to define beating cancer. If you’re struggling with cancer, you have my sincerest condolences and I do empathize with you. I also encourage you to join groups of others going through cancer and I promise you’ll find many of these same mental reframing techniques being taught. Well I understand you being sarcastic trying to say not everyones life is similar. BUT you could always try to find the time for the things that matter. I don’t recommend following advice blindly like some of the people in this audience… but I can personally attest that at the end of 2023 I started forcing myself to do pushups, and would mark a tally on my calendar for every 20 I did. Starting in 2024 I never bought myself a calendar, and I have definitely been slacking. Something about marking the tally’s and seeing how well I did in the past month really kept me motivated.

It was indeed practical @mrfuzziiwuzzii, why dont you try it and see what happens? In college it is called a SMART goal which each letter stands for something. Doing this has helped me achieve my goals. This video is a great reminder for me to do this again.
I was all for making a list of goals till he added more stuff to the rules. That's way too much to follow. I'm not even past number 9 on my list. How am I suppose to write down everything I need to achieve a goal when I don't even know the goal?? At most I have 4 goals that actually matter. And those are just basic ones. Your comparing what you would consider struggling to what he considers struggling. Someone who lives in a cardboard box probably would say the same about you. If he was born into money (I have no idea if he was) then it wasn't special to him. He still had things he wanted to achieve outside of having money. Everything is relative. We're all struggling. Having material wealth doesn't mean you can't have other goals that are very hard to achieve outside of that. A lot of rich people aren't happy, especially if they were born into it.

Even if someone's focus is not on the job it does not mean that they will waste your time because they can't be molded to your liking. @anubhavjn56 The cybertruck is a prime example of ditching the goal, not changing the plan. It promised features that had to change, over promising and underdelivering. Now, they have a poorly done vehicle that will be unlikely to ever recoup all the money that went into its development. A life goal is something you think is going to make you better in the future. If you change your goal, so does your plan. You can't change your goal and not change your plan. I quit smoking, and this advice had a hand in helping me. I applied it to myself. The value of your thoughts and ideas is a powerful thing, you just need to see it as valuable.
When I started my business I was barely making enough to afford food. 3 years later I was doing enough so I can live normally. Today 10 years later I make enough that I can work just 3 months a year and live off of that for the rest of the year. What am trying to say is success doesn't come fast and easy. Only thing stopping you from achieving your goal is yourself.

Every time I remember manifestation techniques and apply them it works out. I try to explain it to people without sounding like a crazy person but they don’t believe me.
Brian Tracy's goal setting worksheets and everything he presents has helped me tremendously. Im finally able to set goals and reach them. When I don't, I just reevaluate, re-set that goal and keep moving toward.

Biggest thing that helped me was by drawing an X/Y graph. - On the X graph put: 1 year, 3 year, 5 year - On the Y graph put: Personal, Professional In my example I said in 1 year I want to have 100k in my bank for my professional, and I want to get married in my personal. 3 year I said I want to own another business in my professional, and I want to have a home. So on.. It really helped me put things into perspective on how I want to envision my life and what I need to do to get there. I wrote this just before venturing into my first business and it’s been 2 years. Now (being 100% honest) I don’t have 100k in my account but I’m making over 150k/annual, I’m married and about to have a child. Life doesn’t go how you expect. Weddings are expensive and business isn’t always profiting. But as you’re trying you adapt and I guess I can say I’m proud of constantly trying (looking back).

Furthermore, I don’t think his actual claim is that “this single methodology will lead to success”, it’s more “here is this methodology that I’ve found to work a lot of the time for me and most people I’ve observed”. He speaks otherwise, but that’s just general public speaking skills.

However, as I delved deeper into it, I realised I needed to learn electronic engineering, programming, and manufacturing. My end goal was sketched out on a sheet of paper, laid out like a mind-map with concrete, small goals. For example, building a computer that could communicate over RF frequencies, write a program that can communicate over a network, manufacture a PCB, just to name a few.
The mind-map in its entirety was overwhelming, but the individual tasks were manageable, even if difficult for me at the time. Each task was broken down into prerequisites, like practicing/learning CAD modeling, building a simple circuit using transistors, experimenting with oscilloscopes, and decoding binary signal information.
I think having these small goals helped me feel accomplished, even when I was still years away from realizing or even being able to understand my ultimate goal. At that time, I was still ignorant of many of the skills I would need to learn. Each time I completed one I placed big green tick beside it. I still look at the scrawled out mind-map from time to time.
Ultimately, my end goal turned out to be impractical. A good product, but too expensive and not commercially viable to make a living from. However, the things I learned along the way landed me a job. I used the product, along with its various design documents and prototypes, as part of my portfolio. This eventually led to my current position, which I consider my dream job, a leading role in a famous company.
I approached it as a self-made curriculum with self-directed study and project work.

I did this. And I got into nursing school. Took me a year. Now I’m starting school soon. Get things in place/in order first if you need to before moving forward to your ultimate goal. Keep pushing. One day at a time. BUT Never LOSE SIGHT of the main end game

Right now 23yo and a few steps closer but still the road will take yet another few years and most of my goals changed through the years but some stayed and i focus on them now. Just move forward, don't give up, try to live life with the open arms and accept that losing, crying, misery every bad thing is just a form of learning and strengthening you and if you survive you will become much more resilient and prepared.

Other than pavlovs dog, another good example but for humans, is Jordan Petersons idea that if you change your body language to be more open, it increases your own brains perception of where you stand in the social ladder, which will improve how you feel and how others see you, which then can snowball in a positive way in your life.

1) Draft an absurdly wasteful and unrealistic 3 year plan for the company.
2) Blame lower management and workers when the plan implodes.
3) Slash wages, benefits and cut jobs.

Your control in the outcome ended with your participation in the interview. Want to attend college? Gotta enroll. Gotta be approved. Gotta have a method to pay. Smaller colleges, no big deal. More prestigious colleges are a bit harder. They require bigger pockets and they tend to be far more selective. All of which can be barriers to you from birth. I don’t recommend following advice blindly like some of the people in this audience… but I can personally attest that at the end of 2023 I started forcing myself to do pushups, and would mark a tally on my calendar for every 20 I did. Starting in 2024 I never bought myself a calendar, and I have definitely been slacking. Something about marking the tally’s and seeing how well I did in the past month really kept me motivated.

I was all for making a list of goals till he added more stuff to the rules. That's way too much to follow. I'm not even past number 9 on my list. If he was born into money (I have no idea if he was) then it wasn't special to him. He still had things he wanted to achieve outside of having money. Everything is relative. We're all struggling. Having material wealth doesn't mean you can't have other goals that are very hard to achieve outside of that. A lot of rich people aren't happy, especially if they were born into it.

In my example I said in 1 year I want to have 100k in my bank for my professional, and I want to get married in my personal. 3 year I said I want to own another business in my professional, and I want to have a home. So on.. It really helped me put things into perspective on how I want to envision my life and what I need to do to get there.
I wrote this just before venturing into my first business and it’s been 2 years. Now (being 100% honest) I don’t have 100k in my account but I’m making over 150k/annual, I’m married and about to have a child.
Life doesn’t go how you expect. Weddings are expensive and business isn’t always profiting. But as you’re trying you adapt and I guess I can say I’m proud of constantly trying (looking back).

I would walk out of an office where a boss did that with me. They don't care about my personal goals; They don't know me from anybody else. That's an exercise you do with a life coach or a trusted friend.
Seriously each year my job tries to make me write down "Individual Business Objectives" about how I intend to improve that they can track. I'm like I work 20 hours of unpaid overtime a week for you guys during at least a third of the year. Why is that not enough for me to grow in my career?

no it's a work hard and you will get what you want, and if you don't, it's your fault. nevermind that there are factors you can't control. you can't control if the company you want to work for will hire you. you can't demand the salary you want anymore, because they'll just dismiss you for the person that will work cheaper. you want to go to college? well nowadays, working as a waitress or a bartender isn't going to pay for your tuition, much less anything else. a nice sportscar today costs more than houses did when this guy was in his formative years. and I'll bet dollars to doughnuts this guy was born with money, or connections that made him getting hsi foot in the door thousands of times easier. not saying he didn't bust his ass, or that he didn't make goals and stick to them, but don't act like being born in a position where affording Yale or Harvard or MIT was doable, or having your parents know CEOs or Politicians or high society, didn't give him a HUGE advantage that 'hard work and goal setting' can compensate for.
