Just found your site. Love it.
Glad you enjoy it!
Railroad songs and bluegrass banjo go together like peanut butter and jelly. Thanks Jim, so glad you’re hand’s feeling better!
Thanks!
I came across your videos a few weeks ago, I had so much fun listening to you that I bought a goodtime banjo and I know nothing about playing music. I'm on lesson 3 of your blue grass banjo videos. I'm horrible at it but I'm having so much fun trying to play. Ty for posting these videos, I have a new hobby now...... I hope your hand gets better.
That is awesome! Thanks for letting me teach you!!
Love this tune! Great to see another version and diferent ideas! And great to see that your hand is getting better!
Thanks so much!
I love this good old tune.
It’s a good one 😀
Jim glad to see you back on here what happened to your hand
Hurt both my hands in a fall while helping a friend move.
So pleased that your hands are on the mend!

Thank you for doing this. There is another lesson out there that I found very difficult to follow. More stuff to add to my list of things to learn. Glad your hand is doing better!!!
Glad it’s helpful!
Wow. Man, I love this song. I think this interpretation with the focus on the melody and the sweet melodic lick is fantastic. I'm gonna make learning this one a priority. Thanks Jim!
Enjoy ☺️
Love the 3 finger songs. I’m always excited when you drop a new one.
Glad you like them 😀
Really nice version, Jim!
Thanks 😊

Awesome, man. Thank you!
Glad to help!
You should do a lesson on how to play the classic song, “ Old Dan Tucker” it’s one of my favorite classic songs, and i would love to learn it! Thank you for all your great lesson! You taught me almost everything I know about banjo, when I first got my banjo I stayed out on your bluegrass banjo series, and it taught me a ton! Thank you very much, keep up al the good work
Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks for watching. :)
Get out the way for old Dan Tucker.. He's a coming home to eat his supper!
Thanks Jim!
For some reason this lesson makes we want to go get Mexican food for lunch.
Wonder why??
Could you look into a tutorial for sweet beuhla land? Dont see much on it for banjo at all. Been trying to pick it out myself but needs some more help lol. Thank you so much jim.
I just don’t play it on the banjo….
Hi Jim, at the 4 minute mark of the video, when you mention base melody, which strings and frets are you hitting? I can't really tell... am trying to write everything down and then go practice... Jerry Hand
Melody is played on the 1st string… at 4:05 or so I indicate the frets and also talk about adding the 5th string.
Great.
Thanks!
Hey Jim! I'm sure you have a lot of suggestions for songs, but I'd like to suggest another. Apache, by the Shadows. Haven't seen any videos on it. PS I've been playing for 3 months now and can finally play Foggy Mountain Breakdown
I've never had that one come up at a bluegrass jam...
Enjoy the music.
Question
What is the best way to learn the song
Maybe start with this video?
Jim teach the Martha White tune.
Hmmmm.... maybe
Would you do a Morgan Wallen song please?
Thanks for the suggestion, but he’s not really playing anything that’s particularly related to bluegrass…
Back like a bad habit y'all,or some spawning rabbits, writing this on the Sabbath, well I'm about to take ABBATH
Enjoy!
add a little bouncc. I like your face, though
Thanks… I think
tell the guy who disliked this to come see me
Thanks 😊
Just ignore the foolishness. It makes you a better person.
