Analog horror is really disturbing and weird, just like my converted VHS tapes based of my dark nightmares from the Ao Oni game. It really creeps me out when the VCR TV goes off and displays the nuclear EAS scenario alarm. However, this is what lead me off to exploring the liminal space known as the backrooms while broadcasting it through my comcast connection like a creepypasta ARG incident video.
Might even be rating EAS Alarms with Pibby in case if there is a glitchy nuke, kind of like the Mandela Catalogue. What did I, GramApple, animate and edit this video with? Adobe Animate and Blender of course, with a hint of motivation from FUNKe, KRUGSTON, Noodle and more!
So, let's take a deep dive into this cult like analogue community of VHS/VCR horror goodness, how will it go? Let's find out, in this video!

On a real note: this video is a weird experimental amalgamation of thoughts and ideas I've been collecting for a really long time, to put all of that into a digestible and comprehensible mp4 file was an exteremely tough yet fun challenge that took pretty much the whole summer, and then some hahah -- With that said I'm not too sure if performing at this caliber will be something viable for me, I'm not entirely sure how things will look down the line. But for now, let's just kick back and enjoy it while it lasts, regardless of what the future holds.

Analog scares me because of how sudden, silent, distressing and anxiety inducing it can be.
The idea of an intruder roaming your house without your knowledge is terrifying.
I'd probably be pissed to be honest.

The quality of this video was absolutely insane and I respect it a ton. However with the actual script I’m kinda lost and a lot of it felt like rambling that didn’t really have a consistent idea. Maybe I’m stupid but that’s just how I felt watching the video. Still tho, this quality is amazing and I wish you the best bro ❤
Yeah, I just finished it and I'm not really sure what the problem with analogue horror is
@@Wixma As someone here around the comments said before, it's literally ADHD porn.
Oh yeah, it's not just you. I thought it was going to be a deep dive into analog horror with some funny commentary but it was just random stuff that came out of his mouth and funny animations. The only thing that I remember is that the reason why people enjoy analog horror is because of their encounter with static noises when they're younger. If that's actually what he said in the video, then that's literally the opposite of the title
Yeah it was so much stimulus without saying much, 5 stars tho
Yeah, i mean the video looked REALLY cool, but i didn't understand a single thing that happened in it

the production value of this video is good, but literally nothing happens. the entire time i was just thinking "ok when is this video actually going to talk about the topic" and it never did
I think that’s the joke
I love your editing and animation style! It’s so lively and energetic, and great on the eyes. Only problem is that the script felt a bit unfocused.
The unfocused script takes this dudes content over the top lol
analog horror is the equivalent of "hey what if there was a monster with grotesque features behind us right now" at 3 am in the woods
edit: not to be that person,
so i won’t
he's RIGHT behind us isn't he?

Thank you for adding sackboy in this video, im such a fan of littlebigplanet, littlebigplanet was such a great game it was so good with its community levels and story mode.
GramApple really likes adding Sackboy to his videos
Probably nostalgia, Little Big Planet is amazing
I loved LBP2, hated how they did 3 and then killed the entire franchise by taking the servers offline (dead to me at least). The powers in 3 felt soulless like the rest of the game.
Sackboy’s fame was robbed by the banana cat 😔
@@AdamAdver I'm always like "they don't know it's from the fruit salad pack for LBP PSP"

I like how like 75% of the video isn't even talking about analog horror
Love how this video looks! Though think I might’ve missed the part where you talked about the problem with analog horror.
Most of Analog horror scary characters is just normal human with an extrodinary extented jaw💀
Jerma985 is an analog scary character confirmed

I love how one fifth of this video was about analogue horror and the rest was the insane ramblings of a mad person
One tiny little minute was spent on a "showcase" of analog horror. and the rest was *_UN FUCKING COPREHENSIABLE!_*
that’s how i like it😭😭😭
I enjoyed this, and the visuals are really creative and strong but… I kind of wish it had more content? Like more actual ideas and thoughts, moreso than random jokes.
The only ideas I really gleaned were like… Stuff is scarier when you’re alone, and we’ve all experienced being alone with spooky TV static, therefore analog horror is scary? It doesn’t feel like there was enough substance to justify the runtime.
I dunno, fun video, it just felt a bit emptier than I was hoping for given the title. I’d love to see this format put to better use in terms of the density of ideas contained.
I think that might be the point of the video : it's style over substance, just like analog horror. Besides, the video itself was very clearly never meant to be a proper essay on the subject, analog horror wasn't even mentioned before 3 minutes in
Agree 100%
@@finixmoon127I feel like the problem with this video is that he always talks about random stuff that doesn't have anything to do with the title. It's more like gibberish where he keeps getting sidetracked from the title. It feels unfocused. Aimlessly. If sick animation (which it is) is what he wants to make, then just make that with a random story where the main character goes through wacky adventure, kinda like Sr Pelo or Krugstons animations or even regular old cartoons, instead of trying to talk about a topic but ended up going nowhere because he doesn't really know what to say and too focused on the animation.
PS: No hate to this guy. It just feels like I got clickbaited by watching this.
everything you disliked i liked a lot maybe i’m weird lol
this comment is almost the complete opposite of my opinion tbh
that “they die” part got me dying and it shouldn’t have
also that 2D and 3D mashup was epic!
also people aren’t scared of being alone in the dark, they are scared of not being alone in the dark
EDIT: MOM IM FAMOUS
i was certainly alone in the dark i would still be trying to catch the super natural horror lacking
Do you know the song used in that part by any chance?
@Dat_Guy_IsCool
Love Scenario by iKON or the Fortnite emote Scenario dunno :7
Well, color me impressed!
I saw that thumbnail and thought: “Oh boy, another boring video essay”
And man am I glad I was wrong! We got:

B. Sick animation (in multiple dimensions!)
[C] It’s well written!
I can’t wait to see where this little dude goes in the future! (Hopefully not far, because he is quite small and I might lose track of him{I will not let that happen again})

NOOOOOOO 🍏
Artistically, this was awesome! And a lot of the bits were really funny!
But, I'm confused. What was the "problem" with analog horror? And what did your experiences with Final Destination and accidentally changing the tv to static have to do with it?
I don't think analog horror was really the point of this video. Hell, 70% of the time he wasn't even taking about it... This is just the most high quality and effort driven sh*tpost ever
Feels more like a rambling diary entry than a video essay, and I'm fine with that. Just a string of vaguely-connected thoughts with nice animation. Would make for a good podcast maybe, if he could get at least 1 other person to bounce thoughts off of. Would've been less confusing if it was labeled as such, I guess.
I loved the part where he talked about the problem with analog horror

So what's "the problem" with analog horror again?
The problem is that it’s „too scary” apparently
5:50 i didn't expect that
cartoon network gets really kinky at night
when the petuh is sus
from the title i thought this was going to be an actual criticism piece of the analog horror trend but the title ended up being incredibly misleading
this was almost 10 minutes long and all i got out of it was "i saw static on tv once and that's why analog horror is super scary you guys!"
this video is the pure essence of style over substance, coincidentally much like most analog horror
Almost like that’s the point. You can see the irony in the video.

THAT'S SO WILD! I had the exact same thing happen to me as a lil kid! My mom's boyfriend sat me, my sister (4, and 3 respectively) and my two uncles (13, and 9 respectively) down to watch the fourth Final Destination movie (The one with the race track scene), and slowly but surely all of us left one after another, with me leaving second and my 13-year-old uncle leaving last all before the opening scene really even ended. I just remember seeing that tire fall from the sky and killing that one chick, and the whole group of people getting crushed by the giant block of concrete. It really messed me up as a kid and it's a moment that has been imprinted in my mind!
I wanted to try to make my own analog horror series. Watching vids like these to make sure I’m not cliche, and I fell in love with your style of making videos! I’ll be sticking around for some more.
This is a goldmine for music samples. Nice video by the way. Hope you make nice videos!

You're an incredible animation
The mix of 3d and 2d is really good
What I love about analog horror is the stories, or at the very least concepts within those stories. A lot of them, like Mystery Flesh Pit, Tangi Virus, and Gemini Home Entertainment for example, remind me of those stories you'd see in old movies and classic tv-shows, just with a more gruesome twist. They remind me of movies like The Satan Bug, The Andromeda Strain (the good one), Stargate, and even books like Voyage of the Space Beagle. It's that sense of mystery and exploration that leads to desperate situations that really draws me in. The alternate history, the anomalies, the sci-fi, I just eat that stuff up. Its a shame that the abundance of smaller and dare I say lazier projects gave it such a bad reputation, because the big analog horror projects really are something special.
Your animating style is so unique i really enjoyed it
I haven’t finished this video yet. but I like this long form kind of content. You should start to do this more. I don’t care how long it takes each one as long as it’s good. keep up the good work :D

Analog Horror is a very interesting and disturbing genre of horror revolving in analog technology being corrupted with many tragic, horrifying and sad situations or events that leads viewers in fear. With digital horror being new, analog horror has been used for a long time and may have issues with its genre, but with many creators being able to bring back the genre makes analog horror a very special experience of horror many others love to see. The nostalgic feeling and past knowledge makes analog horror a special place for horror creators to be with. We enjoyed your explanation on analog horror and we do wish to see you react to some analog horror for more feedback and suggestions for others to take. This is kind of long but it can be useful in the figures . Everything else that’s all we have for today. Continue with what you do and always have a wonderful day, keep up the good work as well 👍
